NOTHING, not forums, not twitch, not discord, not anything should ever replace in game communication!!!
@CM_Crom Cruach I don't know what you consider constructive anymore.
We do your testing
We report your bugs
We tell u what we like
We tell you what we dislike
We tell you what we hate
We tell you what we want
We even tell u what we don't want
Then all of that gets twisted and spat out. We don't get what we ask for, bugs don't get fixed and then you give us what we don't want and try and dress it up as doing us a favour.
Discord just has more people not used to the pattern yet.
And yes we are frustrated and critical. But to call us unconstructive is grossly unfair.
Exactly what do u want from us? A medal for giving us what we don't want? Applause for fixing the odd bug that is minor by comparison, whilst bugs affecting basic functionality remain unaddressed?
Applause for removing ruby deals increasing prices beyond anything reasonable, whilst still spamming us with 30 pop ups at a time?
If you want positive feedback I suggest GG earn it!
I spend 5 minutes on Discord but I do not see any added value in this server. It is just a big babble box. No structure, no focus, no real topics, just scatter and noise.
But I understand why GGS wants this. It let the players vent off their frustrations and after 20 or so messages everyone has forgotten what the issues were.
And the babble box is a good alternative for playing the game itself.
I am new to discord, giving it a chance but it appears to be an unmoderated jumble with no structure and lots of scrolling required to to find anything relevant. Looks like very low constructive participation as well.
Now as has been pointed out I'm a boomer with a boomer attitude. So I went through the effort to talk to a few people who are embracing platforms like discord for their ample gaming.
The feedback was unanimous. Discord is a great platform for live chat whilst you're gaming. Some general discussion in chat rooms, but mostly to talk to your team mates whilst u play together.
To use discord as a platform similar to a forum to discuss topics and issues puzzled them. It was immediately pointed out that discord does not provide that kind of structure and and that it would probably end up being very chaotic as discord does not have sufficient filtering options to ensure u can find what you're looking for.
You can have chat rooms with topic headers. But not much sorting beyond that.
Seems the millennials and zoomers agree with the boomers.
@WillyWiz (NL1) I appreciate royal mail was before @CM_Crom Cruach's time. But so was blade coast. And if an unwanted relic of an event can be brought back with a makeover ( after all we have been told there is huge demand for it we just don't know it!) I'm hoping that Crom can familiarise himself with another relic that was actually liked and that has been asked to be brought back repeatedly in the forums.

Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.
Exactly! If you don't listen it doesn't really matter what language or medium is used!

The experiment doesn't appear to be working.

Discord is not a suitable platform as a forum.
Completely agree von
I like this forum.
When is next update, what's coming with update Monday?
Communication seems off since new year
@CM_Crom Cruach U had a tool and u have a tool.
We had royal mail. We have an inbox. And u could always venture into the territory of a useful pop-up.
The Royal Mail was before @CM_Crom Cruach joined GGS. But that is exactly the way to go. Maybe add some categories to it.

How's that going @CM_Crom Cruach ?
I just reread this thread as I feel that forum is dying too as communication is back to being one way only.
Considering how many bugs remain unfixed and how many issues remain unaddressed no new isn't good news at all.
We just feel ignored....
Customer care in GGS has always been lazy. Thumbs up for those who thrive to try to figure and fix things up.
