Not a new complaint, but BtH travel times are way too long. The nearest city state to me is 7.5 hours away. What's the bet someone else gets there before my capture arrives? It's the last one in the vicinity. The next nearest is over 9 hours away. Even if I am successful in capping one of these someone can steal it from me and I don't have time to steal it back.
I know, I can relocate closer to them. But then they get used up and I'm far again from the next nearest lot.
There really does seem to be no point playing this event. All this development just to please the top few hundred players. sigh
Well gg has made his totally in the hands of the top alliances who is in the top 1000 alliances to get the awards with them having pacts not to hit each other and having more then 20 players in a alliance so they spend probably more more money then most people see in a month I guest that's the way it is. But in other events gg has thereare limits on who you can hit. But not here so they pick on others and bully them with lvl 70 players on players that can't defend against it so it puts them in control on who can bein the top 1000 alliances so why spend money just to give your points to the top alliances and what happened to the 20 play limit on alliances gg put on the event
Let me put it this way. @CM_Crom Cruach likened the game to a fun fare with a variety of rides (events).
BtH seems to be a very special event. It's a huge rollercoaster where maintenance has failed so we know there will be numerous serious accidents, it should be shut down until it's safe but clearly there's no protocol for maintenance and safety in place.
Now even if we accept that it's also a super special ride. It's a ride almost everyone can go on for free!!!!!
Now we all know that a poorly maintained ride could have casualties. But even if we're prepared to hope and pray that it doesn't malfunction whilst we're on, we also know that no matter what, we need to be strapped in. The ride is free. Seatbelts, however, are not. For a few bucks you can have an old tattered lap-belt, it might fail or hold but u might feel a little more safe. For a little more cash you can have a proper seatbelt. Add more you get a harness and bullbar. For a lot more you get a helmet and few airbags too just in case.....
Now in most places safety is a basic requirement. In GG it's not and it's called game design.
Rather than a fun ride it more reminds me of Roman gladiator arenas.
Poorly equipped and trained commoners lead to their death against overpowered well equipped fighters who are paid to win. Sure, occasionally one survives and becomes a hero for a little while, but the majority never make it.
@vonclis (AU1) Remember the Fun Fair Manager has "a lot of people coming to the Fun Fair and they all have different tastes and desires" We love receiving a pineapple and come back for the privilege.
Sacrifice the commoners. I love losing my head even if I pay for the lap-belt privilege in a team game. Knowing I won't even get a participation reward for buying a lap-belt. But it is a team ride so like any good team leader I have come in the hope that the ride will be better.

They pay for your game. Be happy.
Just skip this event and having a laugh how some spent so much money in a virtual game just to feel that they are better. The funny part is that they are not happy with the game. Bugs and other things and the cash train continues.
Example in real life:
When you go to a restaurant and the food is bad and you need to pay for it. But you keep going back.
If I was loaded with money I still didnt do this. I went to another place. Its paying for getting slapped in the face.
I just bought myself a very big sonos installation and play some music while others are hitting brainless non stop castles/camps.
I want to talk about Beyond the Horizon event, everyone notice that individual players need a strong allince for participate and win that spastic event. And you can't join any other allince during this event and also can't play with other server friends. Individually you can't try for best Rewads but it's not possible to get the 1st alliance rewards because here is unfair practice you guys introduced. Asia 1 is not a big server and don't have enough Rbuy players which can b do extraordinarily as NL1 US and DE players are. So what the purpose if we can't win for 1st or top 10 rewards ? Why individuals can't get the same stuff even after spending big amounts in this Beyond the Horizon event ? Make it possible for maximum don't favor the few only. If Asia 1 ARAB 1 is small servers with few players so how can compete with these big guns ? Make it fair for all not for selective only
The event is far from perfect, still many bugs to be fixed and feedback to be reacted on.
Even if the event was complete. Spamming it all the time kills the fun and excitement. There should be just one event active at time. Or none. We're drowning In events.
Multiple events gives you choices. The payoff for horizon is 1k times better than any other reward we receive. Yes it has bugs but so does everything. Stuff we have learned to deal with and try to play. The rewards is for premium relics. Soon as you seen that you knew it would cost money to acquire. Especially since the premium builds make the relic builds obsolete. You can play the main game and slowly build those up or pay to play and receive premium resources. Even with strategy, a group of non spenders can achieve top 100 easily.
@jagerboom (US2) I'm not so sure about that. First time round so many bumbled through making top hundred was achievable. Second time round was a lot harder. Sooo many never came back making it hard for bottom feeders to make a living.
It's certainly not possible to get the good stuff without huge spending.
I'm just sad to see all strategy disappear from game.

The option to choose is an illusion. In reality if there's for example foreign and heritage collecting events running on same time there's no 2 words about which one must be played, the difference in rewards is mindblowing. We only have x amount of time to use in game and we don't want to play game bad on purpose.
Also, I'd love to choose NOT to play events at all. But that's not possible as pvp delivers no rewards at all.
@jagerboom (US2) Right now even if the 1000 strongest non-paying players tried to gank up the strongest paying player there, thay would lose.
Paying for both progression and temporary game advantages has always been in the game (aka pay to win), but the scale we see it happening the Outer Realms and the Beyond the Horizon is totally unheard of.
The Horizon login bug is still there. It wants you to name your castle, but won't accept any name and the naming dialog box won't close. Have to close the game and then reopen.
@jagerboom (US2) There are massive esport events based on some free to play games that menaged to be successfull despite not selling any kind of competitive advantage.
On the other hand the games of GG have no right to ask for as much money as thay do, castle building games are around the cheapest types of games to make. I think this game has been developed by a team of at most 10 people, in comparison the biggest game developer teams today are around 1000 people.
@jagerboom (US2) not all are the same. Yes they want our money. Fair enough.
But the aggression in monetisation of GG is extreme and unique. So is the total disregard of micro spenders and free players. Nowhere else have I seen them this neglected and unappreciated.
And nowhere else have I seen such hyper inflation in a game.
The Beyond the Horizon - Forum Guide is quite out of date now. Will it be updated?
For example, it still makes the point (which was also heavily emphasised in the video tutorial for the event), that the capture timer for City States does not reset if someone else caps it. That's now terribly wrong.
Much else changed in the second running of the event, but we weren't told about it and the Forum Guide has not been updated.

I will mention this and see what we can get done. Thanks for the reminder.
Some members of our alliance don't have the Armourer all today in Horizon, while others do. How does that work? And why? I can't believe GGS are deliberately preventing some players from spending rubies. That's surely against the company creed.

Are GGS going to inform us about this and other changes they've made to their shiny new money spinner???? sheesh

Personally I'm highly amused. Our alliance capital is down to 800 points and we're still being hit with bought troops. It's hilarious.
And the cheapskates that send 32 macemen lose against my well trained militia. I'm just building dwellings and laughing. 🤣

Rewards not fixed,
No feedback taken into account
But sure it’s gg let’s run horizon again🤣🤣🤣
Money must flow in to allow for the Christmas bonus for all GGS employees and their shareholders.
Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.
Lemon that silly orange raspberry full of apples and bananas, overpriced grape and pears of an event.
Fruit salad. One fruit is simply no longer enough.
Do we really need another run of horizon now?

The only strategy left is on how much money you should spend at what event.
Also, I'd love to choose NOT to play events at all. But that's not possible as pvp delivers no rewards at all.

Got to keep them spending. It's the free to play business model. No different than any other game.
The Horizon login bug is still there. It wants you to name your castle, but won't accept any name and the naming dialog box won't close. Have to close the game and then reopen.
Same as last Horizon (but not 1st Horizon).

It's the only event not completely depriving the other part of the world of sleep. We usually miss out on all sorts of stuff. Let us have this one!!!!
Go southern hemisphere!!!!
