Brave warriors,

This month's update celebrates the arrival of a somewhat more spooky and scary season and this content package is really thrilling indeed. There will be plenty of new additions coming to our game, an entirely new Halloween-themed event, and on top of that, we'll also have the previously announced improvements to our Decoration Forge!

But let's not keep you in the dark any longer and shed some light on what is going to await you in our upcoming October Update!

"Summer is over, yet Autumn has come and this year
October will be second to none!
The nights are getting longer and darkness ensues,
but oh boy have you heard about our spy's latest news:

Being brought back to life, the dead seem to rise!
They may look normal to you, but they're cloaked in disguise.
They're roaming our lands, hunting for souls so sweet,
in an event true to the motto of the known "trick or treat"!

So you'd better be prepared and think good about your path,
for you might face your doom during 'The Reaper's Wrath'!"

Halloween is not only prone to rhymes but also one of the year's most celebrated events. That's why this year we are also going to have a dedicated Halloween-event in our Great Empire fittingly named "The Reaper's Wrath".

We provided you with a short overview of this event in the "Our Plans for Q4 2018"-thread, but now it's time to showcase this event to you.
This thrilling event will run from the 24th of October until the 31st of October!

During "The Reaper's Wrath" you'll join the dead in their hunt for souls:
  • You'll receive a specific amount of a new event-specific currency - called "souls" - with each passing day of the event
  • You'll be able to actually steal a specific amount of said souls from other players as well, to further increase your own amount of souls
  • The total amount of souls at the end of this event will determine your end reward (the more, the better)
  • There will be no top rewards, only activity rewards in this event!
  • This event will also have a shop (which you will see in the screenshot below)
    • You will be able to buy special decorations, with Fusion Level 52 + 350 Public Order (29,999 rubies) and Fusion Level 30 + 250 Public Order (2000 rubies)
    • You can also buy the look item "Ring of ruin", which turns your castle into a truly thrilling Fortress, so-called Soul snatchers which enable you to get retrieve your collected souls immediately (without delay), etc.

New Castle Skins - The Reaper's Wrath

As mentioned before there will be new skins for your castles in our great Empire, coming with this event and their scary looks will truly strike fear into your enemies hearts!!!

Look-item artifact: Ring of Ruin

Castle Skins

You will be able to purchase them with rubies, as well as via the event rewards for 30.000 souls. They are only cosmetic skins though, which means, that there will be no stats bonuses for them. Those new castle skins are permanent, but you can't slot them with gems.

New Time limited Events - Samurai Invasion & War of the Bloodcrows

The day has finally come and we're proudly presenting you with two (new) well-known events which will be implemented with our upcoming update for Empire: Four Kingdoms!

  The Samurai Invasion

The new Samurai Invasion will replace the currently running old version of the event:
  • Samurai camps (enemy NPC camps) will spawn around your castle on the world map

  • By attacking these Samurai camps, you'll be able to collect a special event currency called "Samurai Tokens", which you can use to earn special rewards in the reward shop later on!

  • The levels of the camps will depend on your/the player's level, so players in each level range can participate. You'll only be able to see and attack your own Samurai camps
  • Each camp will have a certain level and the higher the camp's level, the better the loot. But beware: an increased level will result in a stronger defense as well!

  • There will be both a single player version, as well as an alliance version of the event with single player/alliance rewards.
Rewards for the (new) Samurai Invasion will be announced at a later time!

 War of the Bloodcrows

The War of the Bloodcrows event will be similar to the War of the Realms event (and our old Samurai Invasion):
  • During this event, you'll be facing off castles, which will be based on the armies and defenses of lords and ladies from other servers

  • By attacking those Bloodcrow castles, as well as by defending against their vicious attacks, you'll be able to receive glory points, which in turn will grant you valuable prizes and rewards

  • Bloodcrow lords, like foreign castle lords, use a variety of defense setups for their castles.

  • You will be able to use the War of the Realms tools in the War of the Bloodcrows event as well.
  • Each camp will have a certain level and the higher the camp's level, the better the loot. But beware: an increased level will result in a stronger defense as well!

  • There will be both a single player version, as well as an alliance version of the event (single player rewards/alliance rewards)'
Rewards for the War of the Bloodcrows will be announced at a later time!

Decoration Forge: In-game Quick Guide

We want to give you a quick explanation of how the fusion decoration forge works and what you have to look out for, which will be visible in-game! That's why with this upcoming update we are going to implement our Quick guide, which you will be able to open by clicking on the Quick guide button (highlighted by first red square below):

By clicking on the check-mark button you'll get back to the initial decoration forge dialogue. But as you will see while scrolling down, there's also a list of our essential components which you need to know more about to make a fusion process work. You will be able to click on the information icon for all of those listed components and an information dialogue will open. Clicking on the ruby icon will open the ruby market of the deco forge, where you'd be able to buy those resources.

The following example will show you the information dialogue for the target decorations:

New Construction Item Appearances

On top of our "The Reaper's Wrath" castle skins, you'd also be able to get new construction item appearances for your keep and your storage as well:
  • Keep Construction Item Appearance:

  • Storage Construction Item Appearance:

New rewards for the Royal Quest

  • You can win a new decoration in the next royal quest campaign, it is called The Scorpion (PO 340) which symbolizes another Zodiac sign.

Shapeshifter Event - Blood point boosters

We are going to introduce a new type of booster, similar to the one that you all know for the charms that you can get during the Shapeshifter event. But this new booster will increase the number of blood points that you will get.

The new blood point boosters will work like this:

  • Increase the blood points that you get after a Shapeshifter attack.
  • Multiple Boosters can be used in one attack (there will be a limit to how many can be used in one attack though):
e.g: 5 blood points boosters with 10% increase each will add up to a 50% increase
  • The cap of boosters you will be able to use will be increased if you are attacking in hardcore mode
  • The amount of blood point boosters will be shown in the Shapeshifter menu.
  • The option to buy more blood point boosters will be shown to you right next to the number of boosters that you currently own
  • Multiple boosters can be bought at once

The plan is to release this update on the 24th of October 2018. We will start with the update procedure early in the morning between 10:00 CEST and 13:00 CEST. The downtime is expected to be around 30 minutes long. Of course, food will be frozen during that longer downtime. But as always, do not take the aforementioned times as guaranteed, be aware of possible delays due to unforeseen circumstances.

    Fierce warriors,

We recently presented you with a special event called the "Reaper's Wrath" which will be starting tomorrow!
As we already received some of the initial feedback and questions from our global communities, we want to provide you all with a first FAQ (frequently asked questions) overview accordingly:

Q.: Which level do i need to participate in the "Reaper's Wrath" hunt for souls
A.: Everyone with an XP-Level of 10 or above will be able to participate in the event.

Q.: How are the attacks working during the "Reaper's Wrath"?
A.: Well first and foremost your attacks will be anonymous and there will be a special event attack icon shown to you when clicking on another players castle. Your attacks will actually not harm your opponent (no stolen resources, no killed enemy units, no burned enemy buildings, etc.) and you also won't lose your own units and/or any tools while attacking and/or defending. The only thing that will get stolen though are the souls that you were able to collect and the normal PvP cooldown will also apply for these attacks. Your event attacks will also not end the protection mode. Remember that this applies only to the special event attacks though. Normal attacks will still follow the known rules of normal attacks.

This following screenshot will show you how the special event attack icon will look like:

Q.: Will we be able to attack outposts during this event as well
A.: The special event attacks we previously mentioned will only be possible on the main castles of other players. You'd be able to use this special attack with your outposts though. Of course you can still attack other outposts in general but just not with the special event attacks and they won't help you out for the event... and might cause a war.

Q.: How can I obtain souls during this event
A.: You will receive a certain amount of souls at the beginning of the event plus a percentage(%) of your current amount of sails with each passing day in addition. Of course you will also be able to "collect" or rather steal said souls from your enemies by attacking them with the previously mentioned special event attacks. But beware: your fellow competitors will also be able to steal them from you in return.

Q.: Is there a maximum amount of souls which I can steal from my opponents
A.: Per special event attack you'd be able to steal three tenths (3/10) of your opponents amount of souls. This means that if your enemy would have 1.000 souls in total, then you'd be able to steal 300 souls from him. So no, you'd not be able to steal all souls of your enemies with one single swoop.
In addition to that you'll always be able to see the amount of souls that your enemies have accumulated at all times. You'd also be able to increase the amount of stolen souls with items called "soul snatchers" which we also talked about in our event announcement.

Q.: How will the reward distribution look like
A.: Your rewards will depend on the amount of souls that you collected at the end of the event. You will actually get all rewards of the lower reward brackets of this event. Let us explain this to you with an example:
If you have 100.000 souls at the end of the event, then you will get the reward for 1.000, 10.000 and 100.000 souls. So this means that you will not only get the reward from the highest bracket that you're able to reach, but also from the ones that are below it. After all this is our version of a Halloween event and tricking or treating should always be fun!

We will update this first FAQ with more eventual questions from our respective feedback channels/threads and will keep you updated here on the forum and in this thread.

    Best regards
    Your Empire Family.

    Fierce warriors,

our "Reaper's Wrath" event has now officially started! Together with an amount of souls you'll also receive a special item at at the beginning of the event which will increase your collected amount of stolen souls by 5% in form of a gift. We wanted to provide all of our players with this item in order to give you all a jump start for our event! You'll be able to claim the gift from 13:00 CEST today until Thursday, the 25th (tomorrow) 12:59 CEST.

We also have some more additions to our "Reaper's Wrath" FAQ-Overview (frequently asked questions):

Q.: Is it possible to support my alliance members if they receive an event-attack during the "Reaper's Wrath"
A.: Yes, you will be able to support and help your fellow alliance members in their defence to fend off special event-attacks in our "Reaper's Wrath" event.

Q.: Is there a maximum amount of event-attacks per day?
A.: No, there won't be a maximum amount of event-attacks per day!

We also need to adjust one of our previous questions/answers due to a misunderstanding that occurred in our communication, which deals with the amount of stolen souls per attack:
Per special event attack you'd be able to steal three tenths (3/10) of your opponents amount of souls. This means that if your enemy would have 1.000 souls in total, then you'd be able to steal 300 souls from him. So no, you'd not be able to steal all souls of your enemies with one single swoop.
In fact you're able to steal up to three tenths (30%) of your opponents amount of souls as a maximum loot amount per event-attack. The default amount of stolen souls per event-attack is actually 5% of the total amount of souls from your enemies. So based on our previous example of 1.000 souls, this would mean that you'd receive a standard (minimum) amount of 50 (5% of 1.000) souls for the event-attack, whereas the maximum lootable amount would be 300 (30% of 1.000).

There's also an additional change that's going to be applied to our new version of the Samurai Invasion event in Empire: Four Kingdoms: The tools which you used for the old Samurai Invasion event, will be transformed both in visual appearance and their description/effect, so much so that from the moment of this change on, you'd be able to only use them for the new War of the Bloodcrows event as well as for the War of the Realms event.

We will keep on updating this FAQ with additional questions, which focus on our "Reaper's Wrath" event and we thank you very much for your participation in our feedback channels here on the forum thus far!

    Best regards,
    Your Empire Family

    Good tidings soul reavers!

Our spooky halloween event comes to a close on the 31st of October at 10:00 CET.

Remember that your event currency will not be retained and will be removed from your inventory after the event has reached its deadly conclusion, so make sure you’ve used what you intended to before then. For now, may your scythes be sharp and your harvests plentiful… and spoooooooky!
