For me research was not confusing, since you added the pop up for when it's done I've had no trouble. A re-design is nice, but not needed. The friends thing is interesting." you’ll be able to see each other’s online status, level, distance from you, alliance name, and their total might points" So it will show me everything I can quickly look up already apart from the online status. Which might be different since they can choose to look offline, which any smart play will choose to do.
Could you explain to me what you meant by "Choose to look offline" Also what's the advantage, or disadvantage, of accepting friends request's from other players, in other alliances.

If you choose to look offline. It means when a friend looks at your friend list you will appear offline even if you are online.
The advantage is that you can know when your friend is one so you dont have to message him saying "Are you on?" But the one huge disadvantage is that they can see when you are offline, and therefore know when you are easiest to attack. So unless you have complete and utter trust in your friend. Then there is always the risk they will tell someone if you are online or not, opening you up to attack.
Some of us in the Alliance got the pre-build for Thorn King, but our better players were already there. For those that know how to play their opinion is after viewing the prebuilt Choices via screenshot- a learning experience is lost- and it's a bit like letting the game plan your attacks. If your new to the game and can't wait to be a level 70 and money is burning a hole in your pocket - your going to love it.
The 'Friends" is nice you can see if they are on or 'offline' makes new venue for mercenaries.
Nobody in our Alliance seems to like the new Research tower - those who have seen "Wheels" in other games ap on phones said they went back to bars.
If you cant win, what is the point to hit? It's for a small crowd of the top alliances to enjoy, as far as I can see so far. It doesn't cost the alliance rss or rubies and replenishes the troops and tools so it doesn't do any harm except the leader gets the red horn all the time and we all have to check if it is a real attack. I'd like a different icon or colour for the horn.
Or am I missing something?
Looting lots of resources is most definitely a benefit. Thousands of literally any kind, from food to iron.

It might be but the game as been making more and more of the contests and tourneys for the select few that buy and out of the range of the rest. Would be nice to see some contests/tourneys based strictly on skill and hard work, not buying power. And rotate all the equipment of FL and Beri so over time one who does not buy or buys a little can earn it through hard work and time. As it is the heroes of FL and Beri are out of reach for the non and low buyers, its strictly a contest for the big buyers now. Just saying....

I believe the main intent on this feature is to find friends in other alliances to see when they are on. Your first sentence up above is for people in your alliance. The new one is for people not in your alliance.

A huge amount of special offers and such. We asked if they could put them in our mailboxes instead of on the screen. They put them in our mailboxes, and left them on the screen, and also increased the number of these things.
The Foreign Invasion and Bloodcrows Events that give you level 70 castles that are pretty shitty. And then you have to spend games tokens, coins or rubies to get a decent castle.
This Master Blacksmith feature is ridiculous. With the points given out the Monthly Event for each hit being so low, it is impossible to get even down the first page where the Season Booster is.
The new Kingdom League that gives you so-so rewards unless you buy a season pass for 17,600 rubies.
All improvements to the game that require more and more Rubies to be purchased and spent. How about some improvements for those players who don't, those who do occasionally but now have to purchase more and more, or can't buy Rubies?
Changes to events that allow only the "Ruby Whales" to obtain a full set of some really great equipment sets.
A large number of challenges going on at the same time which makes it impossible to master them all and the icons for the events, and pop-ups that fill up my screen. Like right now, Nov. 25, 2019, I have 4 Icons on the left by the Message box going vertically up the screen, and I have three icons on the right side by the toolbar going vertically up (sometimes it's 4 on the right), plus all but one of the icons has arrows to flip through the offers. Too much of my screen is covered with this nonsense.
The never-ending Sale Pop-ups that I have to keep closing these boxes and having these pop-ups interfering with tasks I am doing.
And any more events that require the use of large amounts of Rubies. It’s about time for GGS to pay attention to all the players.
I would like to know when the research bug is going to get fixed, I can't do any friggin research. I click on the tower and the research button but nothing happens. I tried logging out and back in and even cleared my cashe, nothing works, FIX IT!!! Not buying rubies until it is fixed.

I trust nobody who is not in my alliance. Best they don't know when I take breaks.

And, yes, I know you can "turn invisible" in the settings menu. I also know that doesn't work - confirmed that with a friend.
It is cluttered and hard to navigate.
