So Mods and BM's are we close yet to whatever it is?

I am about done with the 2 week bird I went on and still I really have no concrete clue to what is coming. All I have seen are more teasers that tell you really nothing. I assume it is not starting for at least 3 days as they latest Teaser picture still has three "?" mark spots to fill.

So GGE this morning gave a voucher code and tell us to Prepare NOW!.

I would like to ask the mods or BM's is there anything you can tell us really after two and 1/2 weeks of teasers. You all mentioned it would start to come into focus or we would know bits of info. I looked at all of the teasers and there is nothing that is really telling me anything.

Maybe you all get more info from the teasers and it is just my older age that is making it hard.

Have any of the following be explained?

Is there any information on these "General's and such", what they actually do game wise or is GGE just making up stuff.

Is there a date yet that it starts?

What it is that we are waiting for?

Why do we need to prepare now?

What are we preparing for?

How can you prepare for what you do not know?

Thank you for any "Concrete" information that I may have missed.

yes it would be nice to have more info now please
like is this a one off event or will it be about more often
i suggest those that have not taken the voucher to hold back a few days hoping it will start soon there is 8000 odd troops in there
or there might be 12 more jigsaw pieces to unfold yet the suspense

We have no idea how many more pieces there will be or even if this is the last picture. I just mentioned 3 more days as that is how many ? marks there are left on this one.

But it still tells us really nothing at all, or even a hint on what is coming. Just are vague sentences that mean nothing really.

I did do the voucher code and right away deleted the troops as I am recruiting mead Defense ones. The Vets they just gave us just get chewed up and spit out by Val Attackers, even the low level 3-5 ones.

Maybe Poseidon or BM HK will give us at least something concrete info wise.

Based on what i have been seen and what i understand is that we are going to get something totally new in the game, at least i hope so cause this game cry for something new to give players new interesting things to explore and do in the game.. I hope it is totally new event or maybe even something that will be in the game constantly like robber barons but with new mechanics and tasks etc. As i saw first teaser it shows some tower similar to rober barons, new leader and character of those troops, i think it will be able to attack us maybe and we are going to attack him or them. Then last ouple of teasers showed something new about taverns and other buildings that we already have in the game so maybe new functions will be given to those buildings like tavern etc... Then in last teaser we saw new characters too, 4 of them, 4 of them, i guess there will be fractions and different types of armys and characteristics that will either help us or we will be able to control them.

This is just my opinion...

As people may have noticed, there's a test server running where a select group of people, who can't share any details either, get to test the update. I can't give you any details but the fact that trusted players from all different levels have been selected to help test and deliver feedback should be a good sign. I believe we have nearly 70-100 users taking part across 2 games, mainly empire. And from what I've seen, all feedback is read and taken into account.

I hate to put the mockers on that
from what I remember they done that to the new sams before they bought itat back on a test server
and what happened to that its only been played three times
but i keep an open mind

That was an open beta, this is a closed alpha. The difference is that the players are now in direct contact with developers and designers, changes are. made constantly until a state is reached that we are all okay with. Sams was tested by everyone who wanted to, which resulted in very little feedback.

These feedback chats are structured and everyone there is actively testing aspects of the update and giving feedback.

as long as those players are from different servers and countries then that sounds good because i do think different servers and country's do play the game slightly different

so it sounds like it could be a few days yet pity they released the voucher to early as most players like me have grabbed it already

Thanks for that little bit of info but we still do not even have any timeframe for this coming in game live?

Seems like they would not want to give out troops and such via the voucher on a teaser unless it was coming ASAP.

But that was a few days ago and they have not updated the teaser picture today with a new image.

The worst I can see is they find some issues on some facet of it and it gets delayed for awhile.

Is there anything you can say at all Poseidon about it.

I know you said it will start to make sense the teaser's but after two 1/2 weeks I still do not have a clue really on it at all.

Am I missing something old bud?

They have added another Ad Banner top of screen, great work at encouraging players to quit GGE!

Just a minor point to bring up.

Alpha testing is usually first by employees and maybe a trusted few. That is what it seems this is going on by your description.

That means Beta testing has not even started within the real world game play and players. This is very important to do as Alpha is usually under very strict controls and limits.

So if GGE is following accepted practices in the code/computer trade we still have a ways to go as a Beta has not even been started.

Here is a bit of info on it for everyone that explains the difference.

Alpha Testing	Beta Testing
Alpha testing involves both the white box and black box testing.	Beta testing commonly uses black-box testing.
Alpha testing is performed by testers who are usually internal employees of the organization.	Beta testing is performed by clients who are not part of the organization.
Alpha testing is performed at the developer’s site.	Beta testing is performed at the end-user of the product.
Reliability and security testing are not checked in alpha testing.	Reliability, security and robustness are checked during beta testing.

Any idea how long it might take ~ till this update will come? Days, weeks, months, next year...

Or if an open beta is planned after the closed alpha? This will also indicate that it might take ~ a month till the update can be found at the real servers.

to me this is moving on from a new event to maybe a different game becouse that word tutorial keeps coming up
hope im wrong but this sounds like to could bring new life to the game at last if it is an event
this must have taken months in the making so maybe just maybe we are getting through to gge that things need to change

I am willing to wait for something really "NEW" and "Challenging".

Just was pointing out that if they are in a Alpha test phase like Poseidon mentions there is still a Beta phase to go which would be weeks or months from now if they do a well thought out test and run through. Not really sure GGE really does Beta testing and just decides to goes from Alpha straight to release/update. That would explain some/most of the bugs that are always found on updates and reworks.

I have noticed the teaser with the 4 pictures has not been updated for 3 days now, still just the single person showing. So I figure they are slowing it down, making some changes, fixing what is a bug, and maybe rethinking aspects of it.

I can wait......

I wouldn't look into the naming of alpha vs beta too much. It's just a more efficient way of gathering good feedback I think.
