  Sure there is @Crom Cruach .  A GGE employee pretends to be the buyer, and when push comes to shove they don't pay and kill the account being sold.  DUH!  Should take all of 5 min.  I get one of these about 1x a week for the last couple of months or so.  I haven't said anything about it here or reported it to support since I know absolutely nothing will be done.

  There's a difference between sting and entrapment.
  
  Entrapment would be a GGE player contacting people at random asking to buy their accounts and encouraging them to do so after they say no.
  
  In a sting, you don't offer encouragement but rather let events unfold as they naturally would.  Most undercover work is in the form of a sting.
  
  All I'm suggesting is that GGE do something akin to what the cops do in the red light districts when they bust 'Johns.'  We as players can't do it, if for no reason other than we can't get proof that GGE will accept.  That the official first response from GGE is 'entrapment' says a lot about the company's unwillingness to do anything about cheating in any of its forms.

  as far as I know support no longer bans accounts for pw sharing or multis 
  I know this because there are some shell alliances who only sabotage others, one of these alliances has 10-20 accounts all owned and operated by the same player, support has banned this player once or twice and then told us they would no longer ban him for using multis to sabotage players up to 20 times a day.

  You want to know what is going on at support? Oh, yeah. Send an email to xyzxyz and then have them tell you an email address to ask for a phone number so you can get an address for international mail to Mars. Once Elon Musk finally lands on Mars they'll tell you where to go in the Andromeda Galaxy to ask extraterrestrial intelligence what GGE support is truly doing because nobody on Earth knows what they do. The logic here is that we can't ever know what they do because they don't do anything! - dliu3

  Lets not kid ourselves GGE know  who is doing it and the whole reporting nonsense is their way of pretending to do something but not actually doing anything.  Its totally inconcievable they dont know.  They are quick to say lots of GGE employees play the game.  Lets be honest if thats true how long does it take in the game before any player joins an alliance and is asked for their keys, and then get to witnesses what we all see day in day out.
  
  Add into the mix all the countless threads on here all saying the same thing, and thats before we even take into account the endless data GGE must have.  
  
  The reality is the only way they cannot know is if they dont want to know, ie they are deliberatly ignoring the facts.
  
  I would put money on it if i was given the tools and access GGE have at their fingertips then i could pretty quickly get rid of huge numbers of multis.  And there must be GGE employees who could do exactly the same if  let off the leash.  
  
  So there has to be instruction from somewhere on high to go through the motions send out the standard reply and do nothing.
  
  There really is no other explanation.

  I was a witness to that when I joined TDU. I wasn't a great player in any sense of the word, but to be offered (the other way around this time) a top level 70 account because a player left absolutely shocked me. Unfortunately, I took to having a slanging match with the then leader (lady m) on the forum via pm. It wasn't very nice to be honest, and all that because I did want to be part of their scheme of giving accounts away to conserve the power they had at that time. In the end, another new player managed to join and then suddenly, this account was taken over by him. Long story short, every single time I tried to capture an OP8 food near him, he would break the capture, until I became so disillusioned with the game that I left. Believe me Phil, yes, I like the old CG as it is in my signature, but we do sing from the same music sheet when it comes to multis, password sharing and the like.
