    Lol well if you are happy with a 0.2% differential good luck to you. 

    This wasn't about being "happy" with the differential. It was about explaining the stars.  Would it have been better to have the 2 star range end at 80 and the 3 star start at 85?  Have NO option for anything in between?  Maybe.  Or would that have been to narrow a differential as well?  The point was simply, THAT is where the line was drawn between the star levels.  NOT that ALL 2 stars are 85.1 and ALL 3 stars are 85.3.  I don't have a 1 star 2nd/3rd effect Weapon to see what the range is, but for giggles presume: 80.3 - 85.1 = 2 stars and 85.3 - 89.9 = 3 stars.

    On the 1st vs the 2nd effect, it is showing that the placement of the effect is also taken into consideration for the star level.  The 2nd and 3rd position of the Weapon will give the MAIN boost to Melee/Range Troops.  (It may even ALWAYS give them in those places......but, I do not have enough samples to make that statement)  The 1st effect is certainly random on the Weapon.  It's top Melee/Range boost is likely 28 - 30%.  Making the 28.2% in the example above a 3 star.  It makes sense that you would not get 82% Range boost on the 1st AND 2nd effect.  While many would LOVE a 164% Range Commander, GGS hasn't quite gotten that nuts yet.  

    I DO agree that there was ZERO explanation of any of this made by GGS.  The above is simply what I have observed, and seems to be accurate.  Perhaps @Crom Cruach could confirm my presumptions?

    .2% is small, yes, but they have to draw the line somewhere, Philt. And since the primary ranged effect (in line 2 or 3 for weapons) seems to always lie between 80 and 87ish, the ranges of stars will be quite small. Re-read what Wasso has written for you.
    It seems to me like you're the one who needs to "really really need to start playing the game, as if you did this stuff would become blindingly obvious to you."



    This here is a disingenuous comparison; the proper effects to be comparing are lines 2 and 2 for each weapon.
    I will attach a link to my Comprehensive Guide to Relic Equipment, as Far as I Can Tell which you can read to understand why that is, and get a grip on this relic nonsense.

    Okay so the number of stars shows how good the effect is. I thought that explained it fairly well. However lets dig a little deeper on this. Please bear in mind that these are examples simply to illustrate the rating rather than exact numbers taken from the game.
    • Effect 1 has a randomly determined value within a range of 1% to 30%. It will get a higher star rating based upon where it falls within that range. In this case it is 20% and therefore it gets three stars.
    • Effect 2 has a randomly determined value within a range of 20% to 80%. It also will get a higher star rating based upon where it falls within that range. In this case it is 20% and therefore only gets a one star rating.
    • Effect 3 also has a randomly determined value within a range of 20% to 80%. It also will get a higher star rating based upon where it falls within that range. In this case it has a rating of 60% and therefore gets a three star rating.

    Does that clarify how the numbers work?

    What my big question is, is why the right line 1 and the right and left line 2 fit in that edge story as I cannot see any relation, or closer how on earth can 28.2% have more stars than 84.2 %
    even when I try to assume a display glitch and 28.2 should show as 82.2 it does not make any sense like the entire relic gear does make no sense with absurd high prices, like the relic troops fit nowhere in any schedule or ranking, they can be removed and no one will miss them.

    Reading Crom Cruachs post there would be a difference in the star ranking of line 1 and lines 2 and 3, sounds plausible but what does that mean to the effect  of the different lines?

    It does make sense and all has been explained before, but here is an example for a weapon.
    Now you have to understand that ALL relic weapons have ranged and melee in their 2nd and 3rd slot, ranging from between 83,8 and 86,1% ( I am not exactly sure about these numbers, but I haven't got any pieces exceed this limit yet)

    This means that 83,8% is the worst you can possibly get and therefore this will get a 1 star rating. It also means that 86,1% will get a 3 star rating.

    In the 1st slot there is always a random effect. This could be litteraly anything (Only thing I haven't seen is fire damage and building destruction). Depending on the kind of effect these star values are therefore different too. 
    Now why is 28% worth 3 stars? The range for melee/ranged effect lies somewhere between 10 to 30. Therefore making 28% very good and worth 3 stars.
    Why make the range for the 1st slot so weak compared to the other melee/ranged slots? Because you cannot exceed 120/120 anyways making another 80% pointless.

    The 1st slot is not only for the weapon, but for every piece randomized.
    For commanders:
    Weapon 2nd and 3rd slot give ranged and melee
    Chest 2nd and 3rd slot give moat and gate
    Helmet 2nd and 3rd slot give speed and wall
    Artifact 3rd slot gives loot   (both the 1st and 2nd slot are randomized)

    For castellans:
    Weapon same
    Chest same
    Helmet 3rd slot gives wall  (there is no speed as that wouldn't make any sense) (making the 2nd slot randomized too)
    Artifact same

    ALL the effects (EXCEPT for loot) in these specific slots will give a higher bonus than in a randomized slot.
    Therefore any effects in randomized slots will get the same star ratings as way higher effects in specific slots.

    Only partially.  There needs to be clarification / confirmation on WHAT the effects will be for each type of equipment and where they fall in line 1,2,3.  As can be seen above, @MartenE3 (NL1) , @JYT (US1) and Myself have provided more specific details.  Your reply gives the impression that for ANY piece of equipment you can get ANY effect in ANY slot.  The only difference being the ranges.  That is clearly not the case.


    Please request the specifics for each Equipment Type, including Com and Cast, and see if that can be posted.  THAT would "clarify how the numbers work"...……..

    Currently all three lines on a relic weapon are called "primary effects", but it's clear from the examples that there are major differences in the values and star ranges.

    In my opinion it would make much more sense to call the first line "secondary effect" and only the second and third lines "primary effects".

    Too bad all you get for them are "shards".  Unless you put relic gems on and off those are useless.

    These equipment is very expecive; that's one. then i'm sick and tired of only getting one type for the castlan or fot the commanders. This is extremely annoying. There must be made a better mix of pieces. I have about 50 pieces for the catalian, and about 10 for comms: while others in my group have nearlythe upposite of mine.

    Maybe I missed question/answer about looks+relic castellians, but anyway - is this will be like this forever ? 
    In that case - there's no need for castle looks anymore.... Or maybe you consider to create Relic castle looks ?
