BUGWATCH: Q&A [English] - Found a bug? Tell me about it!

Hello Everyone!

I am Rainbow Brite; a bug huntress for the glorious 'Goodgame: Empire'! Some of you may remember me on the forums from quite some time ago now, well, now I am back and ready to try to help you guys with any issues you may be having from a bug-perspective! So quickly before you post anything, please read below: 

The intention of this thread is to help you, the players, by answering questions, having discussions and also verifying potential bugs or problems you may be experiencing.
I will communicate relevant information directly to you guys as and when I receive the information myself via this thread.
This thread is intended for English-speaking players, however if you want to post your problem here in English from another server, that is no problem at all! 

I want you guys to feel like you can discuss freely about Empire in this thread, however, this thread will not tolerate abuse towards other players/forum users nor towards Goodgame Studios employees and moderators. Should there be any abuse of this kind seen in this thread, the user responsible should be prepared for a possible ban on their account.

    Food production is off since 2 days now, for example in sands my food production is said to be 26143, when adding all granaries I get 25862 when I use my own spreadsheet I get 25862 as well, so it is off by ~1% too much, same in all castles and the shown food negative is calculated based on the wrongly shown 26143 so it shows a smaller negative than is calculated in the end, which, had I not woken up early would have caused me to starve, in my best op that is a difference of a bit over 1000 an hour which is quite a bit.

    What did you investigations find out @Rainbow Brite  ?
    One thing I noticed also on servers where I do not have subcription Nr1 is that adding the total production never matches the production shown when hovering over your amount of food in your castle
    I asked around and was able to find a whopping 70 over people who had the bug, concidering I asked 82 people that is quite the number, one thing all of the ones I asked had in common is being a level 70 player

    Unfortunately I haven't been able to finish investigating this, I will see if it's possible today and I will keep you up to date! But don't worry I will look at this, I just need some things to be done on our side in order to continue my investigation. :)

    So after spending 8 hours trying around a lot I managed to find out the 100% accurate food formula and once I then also managed to tell goggle spreadsheets to not round the numbers erver, since some of them have over 14 decimal places, I got it to be almost accurate and then whe looking at the ones that were off I also found out why, for some reason it rounds  0.44 to 0.5 when by normal mathematical rule 0.44 would be rounded down to 0.4, once I then added an if clause to look out for that and if that was the case use roundup instead of round, my food calucaltor was 100% accurate with what was shown as total production here

    now on to the mystery why that is not the same as when adding the food productiion of all granaries together
    so that is because 

    at first nothing seems wrong
    235*0.42*20.012=1985.844 and then that rounded to 1986 for it to be seen easier
    BUT
    that is not what the granary actually produces would be
    235*2,012.06608282393%*42.1875%=1,994.77488992466, and then that is rounded to the first decimal so it acctualy produces 1994.8

    and now what I noticed as to why I was having small differences between what is shown ingame and what my calcualtor got out of 0.5; 0.2 etc.

    so in my fire peaks castle when In rounded the food production by normal rounding rules I was off by 0.3

    forgott to mark the 29.845 in the pic
    and then I decided do just round up all numbers and saw I was too high then, so then I looked at the numbers that were not rounded up before but when I rounded up all got rounded up, did that for 21 different castles and found that whenever there is a x.x4 if I then round up the final production is correct meaning for some reason to get the accurate total food production you need to round up starting at 4 instead of at 5 which you'd normally do

    There I explainned the "bug" and the reason behind it, just putting in 1994.8 instead of 1986 and it is fine again, as the bug not really is a bug put imo poor design choice and not accurate mathematics since it rounds up starting 4

  • I attacked and defeated a foreign lord and my troops were returning. I spied on the new one and wanted to exile it but I got this.

    I know it's just an inconvenience, but it made me wait until my troops returned from the previous attack before I could send one on the new castle. I'm guessing it isn't supposed to do this and thought I'd bring it up.

  • There is a level 48 in my division in Kingdom League smoking legendary level 800's because he has hundreds of dollars to spend. If you really wanted to make money you would put ruby players in their own division and let them compete that way and make it fair for everyone else, thank you.
  • That's most likely a ruby whale rather than a ruby player; I rarely buy rubies and am currently beating a ruby player in my league around my level. I feel there is not enough emphasis in the community between ruby players and ruby whales. Ruby players use rubies to accent/expand their play and are often still beatable, while whales change their play with rubies and rely on them and are just on another level from FTP players.

    So the first one is an attack on a level... -1 shapeshifter. maybe this means it does not have defenses.
    This next one, im gonna win the shapeshifter contest.... somehow. YAY I HAVE NEVER GOT FIRST PLACE IN MY LIFE BEFORE!!! :D

    The third one is a 212-hour long promotion.

  • I can explain the 212-hour promo. It's the League pass, unlocking more rewards which was made free to everyone this time around. That's what the promo is, and it goes until the Kingdom's league ends. The thing is, since it redirects you to another place where you "buy" it for 0 rubies, it doesn't recognize that you got it and disappear.

  • @Rainbow Brite It's been a few days and still nobody has even gotten a direct response from you. Since bugs are clearly so rampant in the game that we're finding several a day, they should be taking a higher priority than they are now. Us players would be much happier with the game if we were at least being responded to by the Mods, otherwise what's the point in having a bugwatch thread?

    I just found another thing that isn't quite a bug but is still broken. In the shapeshifter shops, you can buy two different kinds of P.O. items. The Goddess of Nature and the Pool of the Summoning. In both the charm and insignia shops, both kinds of P.O. cost the same amount but the shapeshifter-specific P.O. gives significantly less P.O. There is a slight increase in might on the SS pieces, but it's only 100 might and not enough for anyone to care. Please either fix this or just remove the Goddess of Nature from the SS shops.

    THEY DONT COST THE SAME - charms are different from insignias and why on earth get rid of them? they both give good po

  • Shares, that's not what I meant. Inside each shop individually. In the charm shop, the Pool of the Summoning and Goddess of Nature cost 6000 charms each, but they don't give the same P.O. In the insignia shop, they cost (I think) 4500 each, and have slightly higher P.O. each, but the Goddess still has more for the same price.


                                  
    This is a huge difference in the P.O. for NO price difference. Please take the Goddess out or change one of the prices.

I have no pictures/video of this as I'm not going to record my screen for hours and pictures wouldn't help, but all of a sudden the cooldown on my Khan Camp won't reset. No, I didn't use any time skips on it. Or the time before. I've been trying to get it to reset for hours so I can make more progress in the league/nomad event, but I can only hit nomad camps unless I want to use up all my time skips because the timer suddenly won't reset. Any ideas?

    lol mine is stuck on 24 hrs cooldown - is this what you mean - not sure if a bug or a ploy to get us to buy skips!

    PS in top200 on uk 1 never botted or used a VPN - that's why it took 5 yrs to get to leg 800

    nice outer realms except we have more bugs at start then last time :) jsut 1 commander instead of 3 no spies while having 1 tavern and at lvl 14 you get need to wait 2h to progress bc of rbc cooldown and recruiting troops wich is so slow (or buy ofc what gge wants)

    I like to think that when I passed my high school calculus class that I'd be able to apply it to something in life. And now here I am, using my amazing math skills to report a bug. 345k>323k give me my title back please, thank you. The last berimond invasion was 3 days ago so I wonder how that works.
