Fish food production symbol bugged

In his recent "Food Production" video, @Breor (US1)  brought up the fact that the Fish symbol doesn't actually increase your food production by 2 or 4 percent. I decided to take a look into this issue, and found this alarming issue. Hopefully you will be able to follow the math, and where I get the numbers I use.

It starts at the top with screenshots of the same granary, and each has a caption with which symbol I'm using, as well as how much it's supposed to increase food production by.
Below and on the left, is the math I used to figure out the ratio of changes between the productivity of that particular granary, between the pic on the left and each of the other two.

From this work I concluded that the symbol is #FakeNews.

EDIT: I do not know how long the symbol has been like this, but I suspect that the symbol has been like this from its introduction to the game.

I am very disappointed in GGS for lying again to its customers.

NOTICE: I don't have any other food production symbols, so if you do I encourage you to test them and post your results here.

Also: I was planning on saving up to purchase a food production symbol, but seeing this issue with the symbols I have decided not to purchase it, at least until this issue with the symbols has been resolved, and I recommend that you do the same!

There isn't much logic in percentage calculations in this game.

Sometimes percentages are additive, sometimes they're multiplicative.
It's often hard to tell which one applies in which situation, and because GGS are rather unwilling to be more open about it, we can't really say whether it's bugged or not.

Perhaps your 503% production rate is composed of some part additive and some part multiplicative.
Let's say the total of all additive bonuses is 198% (for example 100% base + 50% windmill + 25% food specialist + ...) and the multiplicative part is 254% (for example due to public order).
    Then we get 198 * 2.54 = 503% overall production rate.
Now suppose the small fish is 2% additive.
Then we get (198+2) * 2.54 = 508% overall for the small fish.
    And (198+4) * 2.54 = 513% overall for the big fish.

You see, there's an explanation for everything.
Whether this explanation is correct or not, that's difficult to check.
Only GGS can do that, and I doubt whether they are capable enough, judging from past and current examples that can be found in the game, in this forum, and beyond.

Disclaimer: All numbers used in this explanation are purely fictional and are not based on any existing numbers in the real world (or in the game, for that matter).

Its working just fine, I just check it with fish symbol and seahorse symbol. No problem at all. You have to do your math again.

Remove that base food item to see it better how its calculated. If you look at your images, you see that 2% add actually added 5% more production and 4% (full fish symbol) added 10%. So your PO will raise it up more and I dont know what else.

In my main full fish added 12% more production and seahorse 24%

Trolling and rolling since ....... who knows?

My math is right there in the pic...and it is correct.

Also I don't have a base food item there, but instead a normal food item (flat bonus applied after everything else)

Another thing you might have misunderstood is that I'm talking about a multiplicative increase to productivity while you're referencing an additive increase to productivity. The numbers that you gave will not be the same from player to player, due to the fact that different players have different amounts of PO, different levels of flour mill, and if they have an overseer.

All I am looking at is the productivity, which changes the overall production.

@Wiglema (NL1) That is an interesting possibility. I'll have to check that though, because some of the numbers you used are a bit off from mine.

    GGE percentages doesn't work like that.  :D :D :D

You just have to learn it maybe hard way. I tried to calculate this piece by piece, but there is too many variable. :/ beri bonus, vip bonus, mill, PO, etc.

But somewhere along this 4% added, not at top for sure, like you said.

  • Fish production symbol is not bugged. I ran the calculations and the numbers match up.

Would you please share your calculations and matching numbers?
