Storm Cloaks (Review 2014)

For our reply to GGE we decided to give our history and my personal take on it.

I have been the Leader/Co Leader of Storm Cloaks sense it was started. A player named Evilb0x and I started the alliance as a sub alliance of one of the best alliances in the game, Justice. I left Justice with aaron.l.douglas, the leader of Justice and my mentor, to helped Evilbox start the alliance he named Justice Jr . About 2 weeks after it was formed aaron returned to Justice as he never intended to stay. Unfortunately about a month after that Evilb0x passed away from cancer. Being that we are both Americans playing on an Australian server i felt compelled to go and meet him. I drove 13 hours to meet my partner in the hospital. He was everything i expected him to be. While driving home i got a call from his wife telling me he had passed away. I was there at his funeral. Its amazing how much someone in a fictional game can affect your real life. after he passed away i was left in-charge of a alliance in mourning. I accomplished what he had started. With the help of my amazing deputy and friend Kel O we became a sub alliance of not one but two powerful alliances. Several months passed like this until we decided to merge into them and changed our name to Justice Empire. Unfortunately there were complications. We left after about 2 weeks and went back to our alliance and renamed it Storm Cloaks. Said alliance declared war on us... we had no chance we were 26 friends only 4 of us level 70 against an alliance of 40-50 level 70s and there sub alliance. In the end i made the deal that if i left the game they would end the war. So i left. I put my amazing deputy Kel O in charge, gave away my RVs and outposts and left the game. After texts, facebook messages, emails i came back 2 months later. Kel O didn't hesitate in putting me back at leadership. I had to rebuild from the ground up. I still had my main castles which i was very thank full for but i had no RVs, no outposts, no tools and i had sold all of my equipment and donated the coins to the alliance. My alliance helped me start a new. Without them i dont know where i would be. It has been a rough ride. My old teachers aaron.l.douglas, Black Drgn, malabo2009 are all gone. Almost all of my old friends are gone. After 3 years of playing so many old friends are gone. But i have made new ones. That's what is an alliance is about. Players such as Kel O, Beasty72, Starkers, Dynasty warrior, grayzr and Kiwi Caesar keep me going. I have told them several times. I am only the leader because they want me there. The day they don't want me to lead i will step down. Storm Cloaks is a democracy, not a dictatorship everyone is just as much the leader as i am.

To wrap up this long history of an amazing alliance we have been our own alliance for over a year now. We have grown and expanded beyond what i ever thought we would. We now have 51 members and will continue to grow. I have great group of guys backing me and i could never ask for a better team.

This is a really touching story, thank you for sharing it with us and getting involved, and I am glad you have had so many experiences through this game. This seems to be happening more and more as we progress into the online gaming era.

Many times I have thought to reply to this thread but so hard to put my feelings in words adequately especially in a public space. And that hasn’t changed –just now I have a deadline – I need to do it today.
Christian s you are an amazing leader and friend. This alliance has thrived under your leadership because of the person you are. What happens at the top filters down to all. I admire your sense of Justice, Honour, fairness and kindness to all regardless of who they are, your persistence, determination and hard work, self sacrifice, patience, courage and integrity. And all that game knowledge and a mind full of great ideas didnt go astray either. You have recruited a great bunch of people who share similar values and its all of us working together and helping each other that now makes this alliance wonderful. Dynasty and Beasty have been amazing and we have the help of help of many other good people too Ash, cyh, Min, Fab, Scotty. Its so rewarding to see players who joined grow and develop into our current leadership team. So many great members I could go on listing the whole alliance but space doesn’t permit. Some who gave much are no longer playing (Jack70 especially). And I greatly appreciate our friends from outside the alliance too – especially MM.
Thanks for all the great mentoring. I knew practically nothing when you recruited me and its always a reality check for me when new members come to remember all you had to teach me and how patiently you did it. You will thrive in whatever you chose to do. You will always be remembered here and you have had a powerfully positive affect on this alliance and in my opinion on the server.
Christian we will all miss you immensely - me most of all most likely. But we will keep in touch. I never expected in my wildest dreams when I started playing that I would make real friends here. While I'm sad to see you go - Im so happy that I have had the great pleasure to play with you the past 18months. Even when we were going through tough times you managed to make me smile every single time you are on - except perhaps when you tell me you are leaving - but real life comes first:D
We will carry on and continue to grow this wonderful alliance holding to the same values. And we will remember and honour you always - as founder and developer of this alliance and as a great friend, mentor and teacher.
Wish you all the very best as no-one deserves it more.:)

I'll miss Christian very much even though he may not know me that well. You're a great neighbour in EW, a superb leader and mentor and most of all a good friend. Honor sends their regards and everyone on this server will yearn for the day you come back and start playing with us.
