Hmm, I suppose that there is no real harm in divulging the story of my screen name creation. It actually has several parts. I guess if you want the full story, we should start from the beginning....

A Long Time Ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

    Oh, wait, wrong story, sorry...

The origin of my screen name goes back to the mid to the late 90's. My friends and I have always been gamers and we were all excited that the N64 was just released. Now all 4 of us could play at the same time. Some of our favorites were 007: Golden Eye, Turoc The Dinosaur Hunter, and of course, the original Super Smash Brothers. Some of these games allowed for the players to choose their screen names. I utilized a name from a Star Wars: Tails of The Jedi comic book. This name was for the humanoid felines: The Cathar (pronounced Ca-thar). The name kinda fit due to the fact I had above average cat-like senses and reflexes (nearly gave my field bio teacher a heart attack by running down a cliff...yes true story) I recently found out that this was also similar in sound and spelling to a sect of early Christians that were declared to be "the Church of Satan" by the early Catholic church. (interestingly enough, it is theorized that the Cathar people were the ones who may have handed over many treasures to the Knights Templar, including, but not limited to artifacts such as the Arc Of The Covenant and the Holy Grail, for safe keeping)

Later on, when one of my other friends got me connected to the internet for the first time (dial up modem, and a free ISP called Net Zero which paid for your net time by putting a banner ad across the bottom of your screen while you surfed), the name "Cathar" was no longer unique. I had to either change the name out-right, or add something to it to make it more unique. Especially since I hated using numbers as a screen name. For some reason, I think it was because I had just finished watching the Disney version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, but the name of the jester, Coplin popped into my head. Obviously, that is not my screen name. What happened there was, at the time, I was a lousy speller. I accidentally transposed the l and the p in the name and came up with Colpin (pronounced Col-pin).

From that point on, I have used this screen name, and as far as I can tell, I seem to be the only person on the internet that uses that screen name, tho I have not checked lately. I just upgraded to a faster X-fi type internet connection (about a year and a half ago) and just finished watching the first season or two of Sword Art Online. For some reason, that anime made me want to start playing a MMO, so I did a search for browser based MMO games. GGE came up and looked promising enough. It wasn't exactly like the MMO that I played on dial-up, but I kinda liked the format of GGE. The one I used to play was called Artifact, and I really didn't play much (obviously, with a dial-up connection), and it was over-run with alliances. In that game, you had to pay just to get into an alliance, and a single player had no chance of success.

Anyways, since my adoption of my screen name, I have acquired several tails associated with it. Among them , tails of a shadow dragon who had unusual abilities to blend into the night, sneak up on the most sensitive listener, have impressive endurance, and eat massive amounts of food (most of which are true, just ask my wife).
About 5 months ago, I convinced her to start playing GGE as well.

And that pretty much sums up my story of my screen name. Sorry if it seems like I went off course a bit on the telling, but several points are relevant enough as to who I am. I hope you have enjoyed this explanation and were not too confused by it.
