Well, It's finally happened, I lost a battle all thanks the attackers gem activating 
Which I'm very annoyed about since i would have won... To add insult to injure i lost 101 honour as well because of it 
And the most annoying thing is that as players upgrade their gems, more and more battles with be won with luck rather than skill/strategy, which is utter ridiculous considering this game, is based around strategy !

I have not had that misfortune but seen something similar in a few battles.
It will only get worse as gems get upgraded too.
Sad to see.

On the other hand I can agree with you that if you have spent time on calculating how much troops you need and just see them vaporised would be quite sad.
And like kit (super/god kit excepted), this favours the active players, not the ruby players. I've got four level 5 gems on my main castellan that offer 5% chance of 20% increased flank strength (2 of these), and 5% chance of 280 KG support in the courtyard (2 of these two), and have never spent a ruby on any of my kit anywhere.

i am starting to feel the power of those gem, when all equips equipped the same type of gem, the chance of either one activate is higher compare to just one. i have my comm equipped the same type of gem (150 TK support), and they activate once in 4-5 battles. :P

Currently boycotting rubies until the bakery update is revoked. A 77% inflation is definitely NOT reducing the price! I suggest you do the same.
