The second time went I took someone's RV, a member of his alliance came and decided to give me a lecture that RV stealing were against the rules, and I was thinking if it were against the rules, why was there the option to actually take one? Because it's just a dumb rule people decided to make up along the way.

Exactly. If your defending properly, and the attacker isnt using tools, then you should be able to defeat him, or get revenge by causing high casualties.
