I still don't understand why either of us has to try so hard to arrive at a clear and accessible answer to a pretty simple question, but have it your way. If GGE doesn't want to make their reasons utterly obvious, people will just have to continue inventing their own, none of which are very flattering to GGE.

Exactly, Mal. Couldn't take any longer to make a sticky post than to stand around haggling with us. I'm sure it's better to have players convincing each other of GGE's corporate evil than to just say what the thinking is behind it.
I cannot believe you're going to force feed us this crock of bologna. Imagine the amount of players that are dissatisfied with this update, and haven't taken the time to come here and post. You're digging your own graves, GGS, here's a shovel.
Just really want to say big thanks for GGS this is a true thrill to log in to. After 126 pages you'd think they'd consider their community, but then, we aren't a community, are we? So thanks for reminding me of that also.
So now that you've done this, please put system messages and player messages on different tabs. I need to be able to get to actual player messages and as you can see, I am clogged up with rubbish as a result of people... you know... trying to play the flippin' game.
GGS has forgotten this. Keeping customers happy mean's that actions speak louder than words. Your actions show that you have absolutely no regard for your customers.
I am saddened to see this as I have enjoyed this game. But I can no longer justify the time and money spent to play.

Is it that you're not allowed to answer that, or you just don't know how to?
Cause we don't mind, if you don't, you're not gods to us or super beings of any kind, if you can't answer cause you don't know how then no harm done.
When these changes don't work out, are they ever changed?
Because they never seem to be, although I'll let that slide as I haven't been playing again for too long, a years worth of updates, I could have missed anything.

Please, time to man-up (or women-up) and find a way to unpick the situation. If this is just about developers insisting that this update will work, it won't, revoke it. They need to understand the way power and rationality operate as much as they know code, and clearly they don't. If this is about the viability of the game, then get someone with credibility to explain this. Unfortunately the longer this goes on the more credibility drains away from the moderators and managers we know. Personally - and I have long experience of such situations - I'd say you're going to need someone senior to explain things. I'd even go so far to say that you need to get the CEO Dr. Kai Wawrzinek to intervene if you are going to repair the situation. (I promise I'm not trying to throw my weight around, just trying to offer a way forward).
Until then, no rubies, no attacks from me.

Actually, I think GGS has hired all the excavating equipment in Europe on this one. This update is rubbish we as your customers are saying remove/revoke it and let us get on with playing please. If not it will be a farwell from me very soon
