What about a moratorium on player to player attacks. Could we all decide that we will stick to NPC attacks and take the daily depreciation of our glory until the update is withdrawn? Imagine the server war ending or calling a cease fire to pressure GGE is respect player's wishes.

Meanwhile, we are discussing strategies to cope with this idiocy if GGE does not come to its sense. Forbidding sabotage except on inactive and unaligned players. Instituting a prior approval by leadership for all attacks. Asking members not to donate to the alliance treasury except when we have accumulated funds for an update.

Is there an upper limit on the number of wars that an alliance can be in? IF so, the game could be completely upended by declaring war on our friends with the understanding that the war declaration is to block spurious wars because of random one-off attacks.

p.s. I get that developers want to point to things they have changed to justify their employment. Why not improve the GUI and reduce the amount of wrist and left-right hand movement, reducing the RSI impact of the game. How about being able to click into chat from any interface window? How about making transitions from one realm to another seamless and easy. The ability to move from castle to castle in the recruitment window - now that is a worth update. But seriously, take a lesson from cooking, there comes a time when you just have to stop seasoning the soup.

Legally speaking..."paying of tribute" in the manner you propose is in fact nothing less than the promotion extortion. Which in 99% of the world illegal, by the way this covers the internet world as well. "Tribute" in the form of taxation is in fact another matter. However, please bare in mind there must be an agreement between parties before an taxation can exist. I suppose that is neither here no there regarding the actual in game play.
HOWEVER...there is real world legal action that GGE would most certainly be subject to. Now in all fairness and in respect to the forum rules I will not list that information or solicit said information.

On the real...a company in litigation would cost you more than you could ever make with this update. Lets keep it simple. Loss of jobs...loss of income...loss of quality time...financial declines and expenses...just the tip of the iceberg.

So lets say there is no legal action because most players here are not of that caliber and lack the motivation to pursue the idiom or right or wrong (undoubtedly you have counted on this in the past as well as now). Whats the worst that can happen...you lose players...you lose money...or the community as a whole "back doors" the entire update and you still lose money.

Lets cut to the chase here...the motive behind this update is cash flow and GGE wanting more of it...Do you take the gamble and risk losing it all because you have debts and other over extensions you need made up and place the burden on your players all at once? OR do you play it cool keep the flow coming make the smart changes to increase the cash flow and stay around a long while to enjoy the spoils?

Do not quit on the first day it releases. maybe they might remove the update in a few days to a week. I still don't like the update ever unless it is removed or fixed

I have never seen people on this game so united before. People are usually to worried about their direct alliance and it's subs to worry about and be united with others. Both a good and bad thing.

It might be time for you guys to get out of the basement, get some fresh air, talk to real people, learn about the world, then come back and try to make a quality product. Everybody's laughing at you.

I could join an enemy alliance and fail sabo against another alliance therefore setting off another war to deflect a war from my original and loyal alliance.
This update has so many flaw's it will have more members leaving than joining,

instead you could've enhanced what the game really is, its not strictly a war game ...its an Empire game

few ideas ...trade? skilled productions (make your own special PO and sell them to alliances you have trade rights with/pacts something like this would have been welcomed by myself and you could have small ruby "taxes" for transactions (assuming its legal, but lets face it, its morally preferable)

trade wood for ruby with other players , you could have a set ratio that could not be changed etc again taxable
you could add a whole trade dimension, that could stimulate conflct, and cost rubie in return for eq/deco etc...something you could vastly expand over time

on the war front...make it possible to support youre pacts but only when you are both at war with the same alliance if they are attacking one of you.
General of alliance A mails general in alliance B stating location and land time of attacks and the pacted alliances organises where to send the support but blind and on the info given by pacted generals receiveing the attacks in their alliance, just needs a support option on allies
this would encourage use of pacts and and make a bigger difference from non agg, and would encourage bigger wars.
maybe with a set support speed of 50% the average support speed of the 2, so its not as good as being in the same alliance? that would make it more realistic, promote war, give defined difference to naa and pact

if "realism" is their aim then how come Ranged Defence win battles in the keep and not on the wall? How come the battles aren't visible? It is "rubbish" they are trying for realism in any way, shape or form....just a better/faster way to reap in profits lol

Oh well, the summer is here soon, I will find other things to do, other ways to entertain myself, and I will probably stop playing this game as it seems the game makers do not listen, are not interested in listening, have no desire to listen.

In some history books i read Archers(ranged)would fire from keeps and small strongholds in a castle.so they kill
and injure enemies before they would reach the keep then the attackers would reach the keep and a battle in the keep would happen

I encourage all the big alliance's to join in and put petty difference's aside for the greater good. If these updates are allowed to take effect than the little guys will be destroy and the big guys are sure to follow. It will get to where there is no one playing anymore. Plus the Tribute Demand will be abused by the bully allliance's as soon as it's put into effect and the little guys will just quit because they can't even level up. So than the big alliance's will start to fall apart because of no new blood and the vets will quit to focus on real life like most do and with no new blood than the big guys will just fade away. Well if GGS doesn't shut down GGE first.

I don't like the update because you can probably just bully people into giving you their alliance stuff/funds. I also don't like how you auto declare war on people when you attack or sabotage. That sounds like a bad idea.

Good to see support from people on servers everywhere to stop this update. GGE - WE DON'T WANT IT !! Members of my alliance are not buying rubies until this is cancelled.

As a member who pays GGE around $1000 /Yr i will be walking away from the game along with thousands of other players that are totally bewildered at GG's total lack of thought or concern for players requests.
The Game will be totally ruined as most players are just fed up with the $$$4 grabbing by GG with inane updates .

Hopefully they will go bust and fire the idiot that thought up the current round of stupid upgrades

No more ruby buying for anything , enjoy a brief window of calm before mayhem and the total collapse of this game

perhaps a way to circumvent this Update will be to jump out of your Alliance to launch the Attack...return to your Alliance while it travels...and leave your Alliance just before it hits. If no Alliance is involved then it can hardly bring on a War Declaration. It is the same methods currently used for RV swaps so possibly could work with this Update as well....just a thought
