    so you mean a maceman in a courtyard can't even attack attackers and only has defence?

    Yes. When defending, only the defense stats are calculated, when attacking, only the attacking stats are calculated.

    but ironically macemen and crossbowmen have better defense than the defenders such as spearmen and bowmen lol

    I can't even see the non-vet stats, so not sure how all that works out..

    spy a low lvl then once you go to the attack planner click on one of the old non vet units at the top and you will see their strength

    The main stat of interest is the speed, why bother with wolves.

    because they're faster and stronger obviously!

    Edit: Also, if you have those troops you can't get any vet troops.

    actually mace and xbow are now the fastest. wolves are at 50 or so. i believe they tweeked wolves combat power also

    In the same update they changed the wolves. They're attack and melee defence went from 75 to 50 while they're speed went from 50 to 80

    Yes mace and xbow 73 & wolves 80, but you can recruit the soldiers for cheap and very fast. You are unlikely to have so much coal until much later in game. Real advantage for lower levels entering other worlds IMO, for village capture that is.

    lol, stand corrected erick, and very smart about the low level guys for village capture Roj.
