Here are the basics. The RPG will take place in the desert. Your character will wake up not remembering anything in a majestic palace. After all of the characters have awoken, each will be taken to a separate room and locked in with three animals-- a snake, a scorpion, and a jackal. The animals will all attack. Whichever animal your character does not kill will decide what branch of the society the Desert Knights your character is in.
After your character kills two of the animals, he/she will be taken back into the first room of the palace, which is actually a throne room. There, the characters will meet the Sheikh, the leader of the Desert Knights, and also there are a bandit lord, a master assassin, and a warlord; leaders of the three branches. Here is the background story, or the main parts of it:
The Sheikh has ruled the desert rightfully for many decades, and peace was kept across the terrain by the Desert Knights, a secret organization set up by the Sheikh. However, rivalries have been breaking out of late between branches of the Desert Knights. The Aranidian, their symbol the scorpion, the Gorlov, their symbol the jackal, and the Juporei, their symbol the snake, elected ruthless leaders and are on the brink of war. The Sheikh had to bribe them to get the leaders to come and meet peacefully.
Your job, those of you who were chosen, is to find the pieces of the relic that caused the unrest between the branches. All accuse each other of stealing it from the Sheikh. It is the golden scimitar, passed down through generations of Sheikhs, rumored to have the power to summon a djinn (you know-- like a genie, magic lamp, that sort of thing). The power has never been used, but if the legends are true, and the blade falls into the wrong hands, the whole desert could be in jeopardy.
Your character can, after being escorted to their branch's headquarters in the palace, choose to go on the quest for the scimitar or do whatever else you choose. I will post updates regularly as I can.
