Is it possible to make this a high priority investigation with some actual feedback?
This is a huge part to the game and affects every player. It is our right to know how long we can be away from the game before we lose our investment.
Published timescales are the only answer, and they need to be by level and by user type.
Do you think this will be possible? Surely it's not asking too much?
Agreed.

I'll be honest here (and i'm not trying to argue), but why is it such an issue all of a sudden? We've never confirmed the time to ruins and yet now that we've increased the time on it we suddenly start getting complaint threads about it.
I've asked to see if there is any information i can pass on.
Regards,
Ethan
I had noticed some time ago that the 1 day per level rule which we had all worked to had changed, or didn't exist. There are quite a few threads on this already.
You now say you have extended it but yet we see it has been reduced.
Is it really so bad to ask a question about the game and expect an answer? Why are GGS so secretive about their game?
There was a recent thread about a level 40 player who had spent 50 euros on the game, went on holiday and came back to find his account had been removed. How was this player expected to know if you don't publish the information? Sorry customer, you guessed wrong and now your investment is gone.
Surely legally you need to provide this information?
Look, we did not complain because we THOUGHT we knew the exact timing.
Now it turns out we do not know it. So we want to know it so we can plan things when we have to leave for a bit and not buy extra protection.

For that to have been true 1 of 2 things must have happened.
Either -
A) He was away for a really long time and didn't buy protection.
The bottom line is we did not lower the days at all. All we did is to increase it for some players. If you are a high level Player you do not have to worry if you are gone for a few days or weeks. If you are going to be away longer I would suggest using protection mode to make sure your account stays safe.

Ethan
Because if they don't tell you you'll waste more rubies on protection that you won't need. It's all about the rubies.

This is the main part of this post I would like to question here.
Are you saying here, that if I were to say, find $1 on the road, and buy the very minimum amount of rubies with that $1 (800 rubies for $1 on phone) my account would then be using a different calculation thing because I spent $1 on the game? I've made it through, such a very long time without going into ruins, worried about it for a while, and I pretty much could fix that problem forever with just $1?

thats too unfair.

That sums it all pretty well.

CM Malreyn, we aren't "Complaining" because the castle-ruins calculation has changed(making it longer for ruby-buyers to fall into ruins) but simply requesting information because something has changed in the game that customers had no knowledge of(through lack of proper communication), more specifically to assure ourselves that our account is safe from harm.

Nothing else has changed!

GGS doesn't even know when a castle will go into ruins or they know and want you to waste money on something you don't need.
Either way it doesn't look good.
New event: The New Lands
http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/empire/showthread.php?67764-The-new-lands
Player A starts an account and spends money on it. This player takes 6 months to build a level 70 castle with lots of ruby buildings and spends the same amount each month. This player is a valued customer.
This player then needs to take a break from the game for three weeks. This players alliance is strong and therefor he has no need to purchase protection as he is happy that he will be protected by the alliance he spent money helping to build.
He cannot simply leave the game for this period of time without worry as the game developers refuse to tell him how long his paying account will remain in the game. The game developers then tell this player he should buy protection in order to be sure that his account will still be here when he returns to the game.
This is plainly wrong. No business on the planet would treat a valued paying customer like this, why should GGS be allowed to? They may not be breaking any legal laws, but morally this is very bad.
Ethan, surely you can't be happy that the company you work for treats their paying customers in this way? Surely it would be a simple thing to post the details of how long an account will remain active? Surely there is code within the game that dictates this and surely it is the moral obligation of GGS to inform it's customers what the criteria are?
We all understand that GGS want to keep a lot of secrets about how the game mechanics work, but this in my view is something else completely.
