When the architect is in front of your castle you can upgrade some buildings to their higher level otherwise not available if he is not present, an example is the last level of a woodcutter. To use it simply upgrade your desired building as you normally would before he leave.

Yes, you still have to pay for the upgrade as you normally would with any other upgrade level.

"I have with me some plans for the prototypes of new building levels! If you let me experiment a little, I will help ypu upgrade your buildings. Free of charge! But hurry, I'd rather not tarry here for to long."

This is exactly what the Architect says. Free of Charge.

Maybe the wording used by GGS isn't the best, but the architect have worked that way since it started. I guess they meant he will "show" you the blueprints/design for free while you pay the resources to build it.

Well that is ridiculous and I will never EVER use it again then. False advertising.

It is not that they are asking for rubies... but anyway, you will eventually need to use it as all your major resource buildings will fall behind one level compared to other players who do the upgrades. Everyone uses the architect eventually especially people who already finished their castles as they have resources spare to do the upgrades.

I am using him and he has charged me thats the point. Why charge for an upgrade I will eventually be charged to do anyway?

He said Free I expected Free. I got charged. Not amused expecially as I will be getting charged eventually anyway.

You seem not to understand that although you pay for the upgrade, those last level upgrades aren't available without him. Therefore regardless of the terrible wording of GGS, he is an additional requirement (together with resources) to build the last level of certain buildings. This is to extend the "building-life" of this game.

If you have to use him to upgrade buildings to level 10 then why display them when you check out the buildings stages using the I button?

My boyfriend has the option to upgrade them without him so what difference does it make?

Colt that is what I made this thread for for someone to help me know how you use him. Stop being mean and actually try and be helpful.

When the architect is not around the player will see a grey-ed out icon asking/requesting that the architect is around in order to perform the upgrade. Unless GGS changed anything and allowed another way to perform architect upgrades while the event is not around, your boyfriend was either lying, he was confused or it was a classic GGS bug.

The sticky thread "Events" in the Tips and Trick section in the Questions about the game sub-forum will also show you the details/explanation of the event.

I live with my boyfriend so I certainly know he isnt lying lol
Well it must be a bug. Im not saying your lying either Jade but if this is the way it works then they need to explain it a bit better because us both can upgrade to level 10 and when it said free of charge we literally assumed free of charge as it should be (if that is what he says)

Making more threads about the same thing is worthless just because you don't understand how the architect works.

    Try checking this thread

    I quote directly from it.
    13. Architect

The architect appears at main castles in all worlds, but can be used even in outposts. It lets you unlock the ability to upgrade buildings to new levels. Once the architect is no longer there, you cannot upgrade the new buildings.

The buildings are: marketplace level 6 (45 market barrows), stone quarry level 10 (63 stone), woodcutter level 10 (53 wood), guardhouse level 4 (20 guards), dwelling level 11 (75 population) and townhouse level 11 (95 population).

Colt if your not gunne be helpful then go away. Your even mean on new players threads because they ask questions which experienced players like you and many others know.

Thanks for finding this and putting it here. You have been most helpful and im sorry if my attitude was out of order.

I get what it means now but I think it should just say "My Services are free of charge" Not just "Free of charge!"
