Moat Level 2

sucmficsucmfic Posts: 438
I've searched and cannot find a proper discussion that just covers this one purpose.

What's every ones thoughts about having a level 2 moat / level 2 castle moat?

Upgradable around level sixty-something to maybe;
Resource Level 2: 30%
Ruby Level 2: 60%

It could be done the same way as dwellings/town houses are upgraded so those who want ruby level 2 have to buy ruby level 1 first.

Not going to go for it, even with ruby tools it can be difficult to surmount the defenses of the enemy castle. I have seen castles that obviously have ruby tools with 120 on the moat, 160 on the walls and 230 on the gate and 210 bonus to defenders. I did not attack him, he had a great castellan too, but imagine if he had an additional 40 on his moat. I think what we have is challenging enough thank you very much.

good idea. but they will have to make stronger moat attack tools so that it is possible for an attacker to penetrate this new moat

No, the ruby buyers would get too big of an advantage.

Everyone's constant complaint. I don't buy rubies, and I don't particularly like the huge advantages they get either, but if they want to spend money on the game, they should get something for it.

But I do have to agree that the increase for the ruby moat is a lot. I like dragon rider72's increased percentages, actually.

I like this idea overall though.

Not a bad idea, but I agree with ZeMaster. At the most, 20% and 40%, though I would castle moat level 1 should be increased to 30% so we do not take away the ruby buyers advantage.

I spent 12.5k rubies on a 20% moat. If I don't want to spend more to upgrade it, a level 2 resource moat will provide an equal or greater bonus?

Base level anything will never change. Prices may be tweaked from time to time but bonus/reduction will always remain constant. Even a small change like boosting castle moat by 10% will make bridges/boulders more valuable, thus devaluing tower/belfry + mantlet/shield wall. Since people will be buying more then, should the prices of all remain constant? If a new moat tool is implemented, as Whale Shark suggested, it would need to cost more. Either way, players will be spending more to achieve the same effect. Community uproar?

Farmhouse lvl 10 will always have a basic production of 88, parks will always provide 104 public order, and castle moats will always grant 20% additional defense. What is now will always be.

You can get dwellings that produce more coins than town houses, yet people still spend rubies on them! I haven't bought rubies in a very very long time but I am still able to collect 500-1000 a day. Above level 50, this should be attainable by any good "resource player".

I'm totally open with what the percentages might be if they did increase them.

not read other replies, but this would only work if they re-balanced siege tools. Maybe it could just be an increase to the number of tools you can use....

Think about that for a few minutes GGS; more $$$ for another ruby moat and more $$$ for additional tools in every attack!

You're right. Siege tools would have to improve in either quantity or quality. Possibly something to combine if they ever add level 4 siege workshop.

I know the level 4 workshop idea gets shot down a lot (and rightly so with the ideas some people come up with). I do have it on good authority that GGE have the option for level 4 workshops available... They won't add it without being worth while.

i think the bonuses should be lowered to-
    resource moat: +20%
    ruby moat: +30%
