This is my new idea and I would love hear some feedback. Anyway my idea is that you could send a letter to somebody that would start a chat(like alliance chat)but they dont have to start the chat,anyway it would make conversations without letters much easier anyway please tell me what you think!

This could cause lots of bugs and glitches, but for now just use an online private chat.

This is a good idea and has been mentioned before.

The problem is memory and lag really. The more server traffic there is the more memory it uses and the slower the game becomes.

I'm fairly sure that if GGS could implement something like this they would. It's just down to data traffic really and the limitations of flash as a gaming platform.

Great idea, but not really workable at the moment.

maybe GGS should make limited spaces for it so that when one person finishes a new space will be available....
that way it would stop lag

Then it would cause frustration for all the players that wouldn't be able to use it.

I think it just comes down to date traffic really. Even a small amount of data when multiplied by 10,000 players becomes a lot of data. I'm sure GGS want to improve the messaging system as it is completely outdated and hard to use but it may be some time before they are able to provide the resources to make it happen.

Still a good idea, but maybe something for the future

Now (I was just wondering how to add a pll to this thread....)maybe there should be a cost for opening letters... like 3coins.

This is a good idea I think, How about you can send 1 resource per one coin in a letter some 100 coins equal 100 resources sent instantly and the reciever can pick which castle the letter is sent to, This is just an idea but its probaly bad, what do you think guys?

Nice idea herb, I think the letter chat is a good idea, but as baldrick said, would be really frustrating if you dont get a go.

But Wouldn't it be annoying if you were in a really important chat with someone about an upcoming war or something and then the chat just cut you off! I also think it should only work if the player you want to chat with is actually online.

ya but then you could just do a normal letter so you could continue talking until there was a spare space, if it was like 3 in the morning and you wanted to use it there would be like nobody on so you could talk for ages

Ok, but I think you should have as much time as you wanted but then the players that have been using it the longest will get a notification saying to exit the chat as another player wants to use it. And then when another player wants to use it, the players that then have been using it the longest then will get a notification to exit the chat.

I ALSO think that you should be able to have more than one player in a chat, with a max of about 10 because if you are having a discussion about war you could have the leader and all generals in the chat.

and maybe you could send coins in letters but you gave peeps jobs to do so it would be impossible to just send a coin letter without them doing a job for you

and you could do like shady character stuff so like attack some guy for 200 coins even if you lose
