Upgradable outposts.

For more food, create more fields, for more stone, build a new mine and for more wood, plant more trees.
As everyone knows there aren't enough shiny outposts left on some of the servers so why not enable us to upgrade the ones we already have? Obviously it would cost a lot and take a long time, maybe a new research function available within the outposts.
I still think the maximum available should be 10, for example 8 food/2 stone and these shouldn't be upgradable but the less productive ones should but still with a maximum of 10 total and a maximum of 8 food/2 resources. This will let newer players who don't have the access to quality outposts be able to compete with long standing players.
I think this option should only be available at a certain level, maybe level 40.
Just an idea.

I will disagree unless the cost will be incredibly high (like 60 wood and stone) and 50000 coins and it will apply to all outposts. Will take 168:00:00 to research and is the ultimate of economy, unlocked after three-field crop rotaition level 3

Yes I agree, I think it should take about a month to research/undertake and cost a hell of a lot. It's more for high level players who made a mistake early in the game and chose the wrong kind of outpost but have spend a lot of time building it up.

First of all the reason why there are shiny outposts is for that, so people can fight for them, also if this Idea gets implemented it should take way more time than 168 hours, because you will be adding LOTS of production with 2 more plants, so this should take at least 30 days (the last 4% of food bonus takes 9,5 days for telling you an example), and no I don't like the Idea
I agree with Jadet, unless it takes apporx. a month for each outpost. It's only fair.
How about 300:00:00? And when it happens all outposts recieve only 1 plant occupancy
Then you will be able to upgrade with the same cost of 60k W and S but with 200000 coins and 2500 rubies and it will take like 528:00:00
The next upgrade will cost 100000 rubies and take 1000:00:00 (probably wont happen, but its just a suggestion)
I have 2 x 8 food / 2 stone and a 6 food / 2 wood outpost. The 6 food /2 wood one I always planned to abandon and get a shiny one but I got a bit carried away with building and now all my outposts are fully built.
One of the 8 food outposts makes 4523 food per hour and the 6 food one only makes 3820 per hour. My vet troops eat 2.5 food per hour (with max bakeries and crop rotation research done). The difference is 281 soldiers capacity between the two outposts.
I would be willing to spend a lot of resources (1 million would be fine) and months of time to upgrade it.
Problem is, there's nothing worth stealing now that I've built mine up. I don't think this would stop people from stealing other peoples outposts as this would only apply to high level players who made a bad call early in the game.
It would also give us something to do with all those resources now that all the available research has been completed.
I think then the "shiny outpost" system loses its sense, and even if the extra plant of occupancy is added to shiny outposts, then there is no difference again
In my original post I recommend that the maximum available food occupancy would remain at 8 and the maximum overall occupancy would still be 10.
It's more of a way of upgrading non shiny outposts rather than improving shiny ones.
then why there are shiny outposts in the map if, in the end, everyone will have other outposts upgraded?
what's the point, if you want a shiny outpost I have a solution: Steal/Capture one
I think you may have missed my point Jade. This isn't some easy option to get shiny outposts, this is a way for high level players who made a bad call early in the game being able to upgrade an already built up outpost.
In order to obtain a shiny outpost at the same level as my non shiny one I would have to travel a fair distance and capture one from a level 60 player.
Having nearly completed 7 castles and all the research I'll be needing something to do with resources. This is a way to do that.
Millions of resources and months of research is what would be required. Not an easy way to get a shiny outpost but some good old fashioned hard work.
I don't agree with the Idea because it will ruin that system, but that is only my opinion...
I guess what i'm saying is that I don't think the system encourages outpost stealing at high levels anyways. At lower levels, yes. But not at level 60. And I don't see any level 60 giving up an outpost they've already built up for a shiny outpost with level 3 walls and a level 1 bakery.
