Nomads Just too Hard?

Gave it my best shot, and it wasn't even close to enough. Pushed my food to it's limits just to get an army this big. Yes, I did the obvious stuff (use tools, try to match up range vs melee as best I could).

Sigh... What more can I do? I attacked a Lv 50 Nomad, which is the lowest level I could find. Is there such a thing as a Lv 40 Nomad?

Your level may be too high to have a level 40. I don't want to hit you when you are down but as a level 56 how can you not amass an army of more than 230 troops?

Maybe that is something you want to work on.

hi, there are different lvl nomads depending on what lvl you are. They range from 10-50(maybe more)?(. As a lvl 56 you should have a stronger attack and food max.:( I'm a lvl 38 on uk server and im attacking a lvl 30 nomad (the least lvl i could find). I can hold over 500 men in an op, at a lot lower lvl. What server are you on?

Ive sent an attack with 181 men and around 40 tools, i don't know the battle report yet.......

That's just what the max is. I've got 4 farmhouses, all maxed out, and farming tech maxed out. Also, I upgraded my bakery to Lv 2 just for this, an upgrade that wiped most of the rubies I've saved up since I started playing this game many months ago.

Admittedly, I do have 115 veteran defenders too. I guess I could have shipped them elsewhere to make more food room for more offense. But considering how badly I got slaughtered, I doubt that would have been enough.

Same problem with desert towers in Burning Sands by the way. I'm still looking for my first win against one of those. Seems you need a gigantic army, hundreds of tools, and all near-max legendary equipment just to stand a slight chance against a Lv 35 desert tower.

lvl 50 is the easiest comp and has the highest profit. If youre having problems with it you need to change your strategy

Just to warn you all, when the hotfix comes in unless gg scale back the difficulty to what it originally was, these nomads are going to get even worse. Right now the mantlet bug is allowing us to beat them with acceptable losses. But this will change.

Yeah they're really tough, and in some cases not worth doing. You're probably doing something wrong. Could you add more screenshots? How many troops you have doesn't matter if you're not setting them up right.

I've had alot of succes fighting the level 30 nomads and my strategy is working preety well. I attack in waves and that helps to even the playing field, and I'm only a level 18.

The nomad camps range from level 10-80. Don't think there is a level 90.

Edit: You need some ranged bonuses on your commander too. It really helps. And the 90 losses on the middle flank were mostly veteran macemen because I screwed up. I will upload a better one later. Here it is. Fewer losses now.

I lose around 20 troops to level 50 nomad camps with all resource tools. Not that hard people... Send suicide troops in the first few waves to take away all the tools...

Hi Bob, Care to share your formation? I did all mantlet 30-40-30 and all range (HvXb) with 46% commander bonus and still range about 50-80 losses. Thx.

4 farm houses? Why not 7 farmhouses in the main. Why no food outpost.

115 vet defenders? In your level 56 castle. What do you have in your two outposts.

Please talk with your alliance and ask for help getting yourself up to speed.

I was really excited about this new event the, Nomads Camp.. I jumped in with glee and excitement, but it didn't take me long to lose my joy. After scouting two level 40 camps, and carefully planing and sending some 230 units, in three waves, or all I could fit into the attack, I won 25 tablets and lost around 185 units. I put it down to bad luck and poor planning, so I made a second attempt, this time I added all the tools that I could add. Again, came back with 24 tablets and lost around 180 units. This is ridiculous! I realize that these tablets are accumulated over time, like most events held by GGE, but I'm not willing to lose that many units in one day for a lousy 25 tablets per shot. You could argue, think yourself lucky that you won the battle, some haven't. What I am lucky of, is realizing what a waste of time this event is before I lose all I have. In other words, I'm done...

Level 30 is easy, heard this from other players, but not available at my level. You're lucky to walk away with 9 tablets and lose around 30-40 units.

Well A level 70 Nomad that i spied on had 1625 troops so i don't think i'm going to attack it. o_O

I agree that the Nomad camps are quite difficult to attack and that the rewards are quite small but I still believe that with a good attack strategy, you can still beat them. At my level, I can only attack Lv 60, 70 and 80 Nomad camps and the Lv 70 and 80 ones have a ridiculous number of defenders and bonuses. Therefore, I've only attacked Lv 60 camps.

I always attack in all three waves because otherwise, I don't have enough troops to take out the defenders in the keep. My first wave is always a martyr wave to take out the defenders' tools. then, I completely fill the next 3 waves with ranged attackers except for the courtyard in the last wave which I fill with melee attackers. In waves 2, 3 and 4, I have 30 mantlets on each flank and 36 mantlets in the courtyard, 2 scaling ladders and 2 Battering rams.

I calculated that this attack strategy works the best for me because it takes out the defender's bonuses the most effectively and takes advantage of their weaknesses. I'm not saying that this exact strategy works for everyone so you probably have to modify it here and there according to your level and the number of troops you have. If you're a low leveL and don't have many troops, I wouldn't recommend filling the courtyard and if you don't have enough troops to fill waves 2, 3 and 4, you can make the second wave a martyr wave as well but for high level players like me, putting as many mantlets as possible until you've annihilated the ranged defenders is the best strategy. If you still have extra spaces, fill them up with scaling ladders or Battering rams.

Also, use your commander with the best possible ranged bonus because melee soldiers are almost useless except in the keep itself. (P.s. On the fourth wave's courtyard where all your melee attackers are placed, don't even bother sending tools because melee attackers are effectively useless against defenders. I just send loot sacks)

i just launched my first attack on a nomad. i did 40 double handed swordsmen and 20 heavy crossbowss down the middle with 20 manlet against a lvl 20 camp. do you think i'll win?
