uhh yeah cuz:
1. you dont know how fast other people are taking it or if they are even taking it at all
2. if you think...oh ill just be the slowest person to take it, you WONT KNOW WHEN THEY DO so chances are you will steal somebodies RV after you knew theyve taken it
3. then send better defense to hold off attackers
4. this way is totally random and so the winner is just lucky having sent the best arrangement of soldiers and the largest amount of them too

why shouldnt he be allowed to attack the RV when his soldiers get there?

So the guy who sits up checking his computer every few hours checking for a spawn so he can get first run, his time and effort should be disregarded?

I can understand the frustration. I am new in Everwinter and have just managed to get my Loot Warehouse. I send out spies then soldiers which take 5 hours to get there (just build a stable try to get a few minutes advantage) only to find half way there the damn village is occupied. Too late to get my soldiers back, spies still on their return path so have to wait for them to send them out to try again. In the meantime I am running out of food because feeding all the soldiers is eating into my reserves. Not saying anything should change but just wish some of the resource villages were a little bit closer or we could see if someone else is sending out troops so we can focus somewhere else.

When you see a free RV don't spy. Send troops. Make sure you have enough to cover a gaggle of armed farmers and be done with it. The spying slows you down too much in the race for RV's.

Use your fastest troops whether they be attack or defenders. Time is the value when taking open RV's. Caution is rarely rewarded in this aspect of the game.

Send about 30-40 heavy crossbows or Two handers, no tools and horses.

Even with coin horses on a level 1 stable, that works for me.

I get tired if hearing ppl cry about not enough RV's, I had no problem limiting out, I looked several times every day around the edges of the map, I prepared myself to take them, I set out 6 small armies at a time at 6 targets with no tools to slow me down, usually using rubies to speed me along.
It seems the ppl that keep crying are ppl that only play for maybe an hour a day & they expect to just be given an RV I guess, with out putting in the work for searching for them!

Personally, I'm not going to deal with Everwinter. Just reading the complaints stressed me out lol. Both sides of the arguement have valid points. But you got to admit, it isn't cool spending cash to get that horse a going top speed with rubbies to reach an outpost and have nothing happen. That is demoralizing, like flushing money down the toliet. And I read in books as a young lad that the turtle beat the heir..

It's not that bad I wouldn't worry about using rubies your much better off sending out several RV captures all at once it's dumb to put all your eggs in 1 basket & go after just 1 at a time cuz if ya don't get 'em ya have to come all the way back & by then you'll have more ppl to compete against so it's best to start out strong & send as many captures as you can as soon as ya see the RV's pop up & don't take tools they will only slow you down.

Yeah I kind of figured tools weren't worth it on those kinds of expeditions. I think he was better off investing in upgrading stables whether so then just speeding them up every attack/capture.

Hey Colt442 dont knock the whingers. This is the only outlet for our frustrations. I like you tactics though. I need to build up my army to do that but worth the effort I think.

Here's how not to capture an RV, a friend had told me of an abandoned stone RV in the middle of the map & I was in need of one, trouble was all my offence was already out trying to get other RV's so I sent 79 long bows to capture the RV cuz they were the fastest that I had.
I guess luck was with me at least I did get the RV lol
