Glory Rank Demotion?

so, i play more of a defense than offence strategy, and during a recent war i was attack so much i shot up by 3 glory ranks... im now a prince! however with lack of me attacking anyone or me being attacked, my glory is slowly slipping each day... so my question is, if my glory total drops below 7,960, do i get demoted back down to Duke? or does my glory continue to drop without changing my rank, but making it more difficult to get near the next promotion boundary?
