Building recoloring paint option

I’m almost certain that a suggestion of this principle has been hinted or out rightly stated before but I’m going to suggest an alternative method of introducing it. At the moment as many know the visual aesthetics of buildings are incredibly dull and boring along with having the same old colour complexions once you've reached max level. That being the majority of buildings later on is red. Not only does this leave players with little options of innovation and to insert their personality within their own castles it is also very bland to have all the castles across the land looking like duplicates of one another.

Basically I have two ways in mind of going about to solve this problem and to introduce a recoloring option within the game that will maintain the level of realism and gain for the company.

Option 1 – Redecorate

Within Economy – Management section add a tab outlined as “Painting” or “Redecorate”, it could actually be the castle icon on the left which serves little purpose in that when you hover your mouse over it will display “Redecorate”. Once you have clicked the Redecorate (or Painting whichever it is outlined) option you will be shown to your castle with all the buildings that can be decorated (Not Hideouts, Decorations, Encampments or Battlements) similar to the present Alchemist system when using a potion on a building. Once you click a selected building you will brought to a screen in which you may choose a colour that is available to you to recolor the roof of that building. Recoloring a building will cost coins depending on that building. When shown to your castle normal buildings that can be redecorated without ruby charge will be shown in green, while the ones that require purchase via rubies will be shown in red. As stated before certain buildings cannot be redecorated: Hideouts, Decoration items, Castle Wall, Castle Gates and Encampment.

In order to allow Goodgame Studio to make some sort of profit from this update certain aspects can only be accessed through rubies. Same rules would apply to option 2.
  • Certain colours can only be unlocked through rubies.
  • Certain buildings can only be repainted through rubies (Keep, Estate, Barracks etc).

Option 2 – Travelling Painter

This would be an event in which a Travelling Painter would show up offering you his services. When you browse his store you will be presented with various pigments of different colours available to purchase. If you buy one of the pigments then you may use said pigment on a building of your choice. There will be different levels of pigments of each colour to be used on major buildings, for example to repaint a Barracks would require a ultramarine pigment which will cost rubies.

Personally I’m in favor of option 1 but would be more than happy if either were introduced.

I like your Idea, but I think traveling decorator would sound better, or having the the architect event doing it.

Yes, although option 1 has been mentioned before it's still a great idea. I quite like option two too.

I guess it's too much work for GGS as they have to make sure the office bar is fully stocked at all times and work out who gets the yacht at the weekend. It must be really tough for them.

I think I've said elsewhere that having more cosmetic changes (such as being able to colour buildings) available for rubies would be a much better way of increasing GGS' income than, for example, reducing the number of rubies from Barbarian Fortresses.

Personally I think if they did introduce this it should only be available for rubies, a bit like the King's Banner, I think we have enough "tent events" already what with the merchant, barterer, alchemist, knights etc and is the sort of thing that should only be available to premium players/ones with enough rubies to waste.

i loved both of them but i think there should be tasks to unlock colours,
because then players who buy rubies will have advantage

I totally disagree, sorry. The wonderful thing about only being able to change colours with rubies is that it gives GGS an extra revenue stream but, since the change is purely cosmetic and doesn't effect gameplay, doesn't give any advantage to ruby buyers.

I reckon its too big of a feature to only have available via rubies. Not sure about enough events, doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Could possibly be one of these monthly events lasting two days.

There could probably be tasks to unlock most colors, but some colors can only be unlocked using rubies. This would make it fair for everyone.

Also, maybe this feature could only be unlocked at a certain level? How about 30?

I like the first idea better. There are way too many tents right now, and they are not staying very long.

But it's not a big feature at all; it's completely pointless in terms of gameplay and I personally wouldn't waste resources on it. But anyone who wanted to spend rubies on it would be welcome.

I like this idea but it is unlikely to be added for quite some time because of the coming event.

i think you should b able to unlock a selection of colours for a certain buidling at the lvl you ulock the last lvl of that building, as that is when they stop changing colours by themselves
