Additional management space for alliances.

this seems to becoming more and more popular, us with big alliances find the announcement page lacking the accurate space we need causing us to use outside services (websites) which in return only bring half the members causing them to fall behind on wat is really going on within GGE

thank u baldrick for suggesting this. i totaly agree-right now the announcement thing in the alliance im in is with rules-and we have to keep them up meaning we cant make new announcements like EVER!

Yer, this is a great idea. More space, more options, better control, better communication. Nothing negative about it. I say GGE should implement it as soon as they can.

I totally agree with this idea - its great!
i also hate that you only have a tiny space to write in
this would be a great addition to the game and really helpful for alliance leaders like myself

Even this will not be enough. look at some of the alliance sites out there. Why should GGS store your info. they already give you a handy description box to store some info... Fans always go overboard and create more info about things. look at the forums.

Not a fan of this sorry. I would rather have a much needed chat room so I can stay in contact with friends outside the alliance together instead of 3 or 4 of us trying to have a conversation through pms alone.

GGS already do store our info. This is just making the space bigger. Pretty simple really and far simpler than inter-alliance chat. It's just some text really, nothing complicated.

but you see text takes space. since it is saved it must be committed to memory somewhere. This is why they have character limits on the current text. if it were not being saved it wouldn't take up as much space. as for the inter alliance chat it doesn't need to be that it could be as simple as chat rooms much like the alliance chat technically is, where you can invite people rather than being limited to those in your alliance.

the need for more information will continue to grow. even at the 5 pages there will be limits and once they are reach people will want more. Others won't even be satisfied with this. GGS knew this in some respect and like nearly every other game created a forum for its game. Even this doesn't meet the needs. This happens with every game. unless designed by the fans themselves their will never be the amount of space desired.

I guess then point is magicsss that a lot pf people want this and it would improve the game for many alliances who don't want to go to the bother of making a website or a forum. Comparing it to inter allaince chat is pointless really.

Maybe there would be a way to incorporate this information on these forums. Allowing pre-determined forum members access to an alliance page here with the leader being the admin. That would save game space and they could easily make space here by deleting all the threads asking for coin to ruby exchanging.

yea im not sure how this would work exactly. the forums might be a better spot for it. I know from coding myself though that certain things take more space than others. This is why chat rooms work better than things like messages because information doesn't need to stay around as long. hence why all mailboxes have limits. honestly not sure which would take up less space but my gut tells me the website.

I did ask in the original description for input from a mod/GGS to find out what the repercussions would be to the game and to the servers (lag/server space).

I do realise that these things must take up space somewhere. Maybe the additional pages could become available based on alliance size?

This way the space available would be directly connected to the amount of rubies spent by that alliance. I also mentioned the option of increasing the space through donations.

I think the larger allainces would find a small outlay worthwhile if this idea were implemented.

Smaller alliances would have less space.

As an example, here are a few options:

Single page (as it is now) for alliances up to 20 members.

Two pages for alliances between 20 and 30 members.

Three pages for alliances between 30 and 40 members.

Four pages for alliances between 40 and 50 members.

Five pages for alliances between 50 and 60 members.

Six pages for alliances over 60 members.

Obviously there would still be a limit on the character space for each page.

Let me know what you think the effects would be on server space for these options...
