    It's important to keep in mind that moderators are volunteers and we all do it in our free time - all of us try our best to provide you with as much info as we can, as soon as we can. But we do have our own responsibilities which usually come first (we can't tell our teacher/employer "Second, I need to post announcement").

    Also you may notice the announcement you screenshoted was posted about an hour and half after the comment of Crom you quoted, so he simply provided you with info he had at the time he wrote the comment (and you knew that earlier than any other community)... 

    With this specific announcement, I don't think it matters that much if you get it immediatelly or a few hours later  when the person - doing this in their free time to help you all - has time to post it, since no matter if you know at 11am or 3pm, it's still quite a while before the events mentioned in the announcement take place.

    I wasn't going to mention this, but now I feel I need to, just to highlight a point.

    I posted the "Zoe" notice and this was @Crom Cruach 's reply:

    As of this moment, that announcement that the current ETA is 2/18 still has not been posted.  Sure, it is here in this thread.  But, that isn't the same thing.  Neither does it match with the expected "up shortly!".

    I know that @Poseidon X Angel has a life and this Forum shouldn't be his #1 focus.  But, when certain indications are made that are then not met, does cause a bit of frustration.  He HAS posted other announcements since that time, so the opportunity was there.  Expectations postponed, ya know?

    Well, this mentioned announcement is kind of "specific" as yes - we were given this information and yes - we were allowed to share it. BUT we were not given this information in usual form of an announcement, bur rather as a "casual" information in our chat where we usually talk (we have other one specifically for announcements to make sure they won't get lost). 

    On discord, everything in discussion channels gets lost easily (as there's usually active chat going on with tens/hundreds of messages in an hour) - which is why it made sense to me to post it there into announcements channel, where it won't get lost and forgotten in 10 mins. 
    On the other hand, when you're on forums, you have threads about specific topics here, with usually not too many posts in them (and you can also click on the "mod" tag to browse only messages from mods/CMs) - they are way easier to navigate through and find messages posted even days ago, not mentioning that people usually check the topics they're interested in quite frequently.
    So I am just guessing here, but this might be why the information about Storm beginning being scheduled for Thursday being shared here might've seemed as enough to Poseidon, and perhaps this is why he didn't think it was necessary to announce it (as at time he got to it, you already knew).

    So while I had the best intentions when turning that information into an announcement on discord (to prevent it from being lost in the channels - given the nature of the app and also the fact that we had quite a lot of questions about the update at that moment), we were not required to share the information it in the form of an announcement - and therefore, if there's someone to be blamed for you all here on forum feeling "neglected" because of not getting that announcement, it's me - as Pos simply wasn't required to announce it in the first place and I might've given you the wrong impression (that he should've posted it) by my actions.

    Hello 

    I am old school ,but why can't gge do all notification on all forums , they run this GIGANTIC GAME , but yet they rely on volunteers, is it beyond the with of there employees to this straight away , and yes there maybe many languages ,again this should be possible. they do so many magnificent thing in gge , i would have thought this would be generated in minutes

    BUT I AM OLD 

    normally i write on slate

    and now the update has been.  i have storage of 600k in all castles except maincastle, there is 700k.

    but can't fill till 600k .

    is this a stormrelated bug?

    I am old school ,but why can't gge do all notification on all forums , they run this GIGANTIC GAME , but yet they rely on volunteers, is it beyond the with of there employees to this straight away , and yes there maybe many languages ,again this should be possible. they do so many magnificent thing in gge , i would have thought this would be generated in minutes

    BUT I AM OLD

    Well, it the past, GGS had over 1000 employees (in 2014, you can find this info on timeline on their official website), currently they have way less (around 270, which is info from 2020 and from wikipedia - so I do not guarantee it's correct). I remeber times when there were Community mannagers for each language community, sometimes even more than one (given your registration date in 2012, I guess you remember these times as well). 

    At the end of 2016, there was a huge restructuring (there was also an announcement about it if I'm not mistaken, which you should be able to find), which among all other changes also meant that the number of CMs was significantly reduced.
    At this point, there were let's say two options - leaving the forum the way they are and having volunteers take care of them, to provide these people at least some help in their native language (as even support isn't available in languages) or having them merged into one (or a few) bigger forums (in English and we can pressume that for two or three biggest communities as well).

    Personally, being part of one of the language forums, I can say with confidence that the people there are happy to have forum in their native language, where they're able to communicate with others and read announcements - even if the forum being taken care of by volunteers means that sometimes they don't get all the announcements in time (and I am happy I can say that they're really understanding when it comes to this). 


    And now you may think that "Well, CMs could at least make announcements on biggest forums" - but we should reckon that their role has changed with the time, and it's simple not primary their taks anymore - it's also important to realise it is a big difference if you have 20 people being CMs or when you have around 3... on the other hand, they're the ones whom we can thank for example for the changes in Storm being made - as they're doing their best in forwarding the feedback from you all. 

    Not the mention that "using" volunteers is quite common thing on many (if not most) forums, so it's indeed nothing unusual.

    You raise a valid question. 
    The delay was extended because Mrs. Lesch slipped on some ice while walking home from the grocery store. She will be alright, but Tommy had to come out of the basement and help his mother with some tasks such as washing dishes, laundry etc and did not have time to finish the work on Storm.
    Also, Boo Masters was concerned that people may not properly observe the International Holiday known as Day of the Shining Star. Players were previously warned that Whitetiger would not allow Storm activity on Feb 16 in observance of the holiday. So Boo Council told Tommy to take care of his mother and delay it a couple more days.

    Ok.   I read all the posts about the conflicts over the information going to Discord and Forum.  Can anyone tell me when Storm is actually coming back?  Why is everyone arguing and complaining about where the information goes?  Does it really matter if you read it on either source?  I think GGE is doing great with this game.  I love all the new challenges and the new resources to acquire.  Lets just play the game and enjoy it.  Thank you...from the shadows!

    I rely on the moderators to help me out with this, not ideal but it's the only way we can manage everything. Just waiting for @Wasso (INT3) to step up.

    you looked everywhere and still have to ask when storm is starting?   that's an answer to your question.

    The game is great, only the company should make its information more complete and make sure that volunteers get more support so that players are just fully informed. just like a real business :)

    In that case I would need their ingame name, server and ideally also some screenshot/recording of the issue so we can report it; or the player can report the issue on support.

    PS in top200 on uk 1 never botted or used a VPN - that's why it took 5 yrs to get to leg 800

    I think there are more players than before and thus the forts are being taken down quite quickly
