The game is essentially too expensive compared to other products on the market and with a lot of the better functions like RV's having been disabled in favour of monchrome one size fits all solutions is frankly a bit dull.  They had something in RV's that worked and added interest made players sign in and work hard to achieve results.  Now RV's that players and alliances collectively worked years to build full sets of are devalued to the point they are handed out like alms to the poor.  Just take out RV's completely and add another 100 levels to the granaries just to make sure the game balance is completely shot.  Unless they forget about food for a bit and get army sizes down I can't see how it works going forward.  7 castellans v 35 comms with bought troops across a 65 person alliance doesn't really matter how many RV's you have anymore they are redundant along with signficant portions of the game.  Hard to see where the actual development of the experience is.  Where is the Empire element?  And how do you fight alliance v alliance without one superpowered player on each side ruining the experience for everyone else.  Its too much like walking into a shop, or trying to complete a Panini Sticker I'm struggling to see where the uncertainty of result, the strategy and skill the actual game element is.  Other games have moved on with frankly better narrative storytelling and mythos.
