Perhaps I could expand on that to give clearer picture of my reasoning using the standings to illustrate my point.

On En1 if you look at honour and the top 50 positions as of yesterday 31 of the top fifty players are from Crimson Guard, 12 of the top 50 are Praetorians with only 4 other alliances represented.  In terms of power 20 of the top 50 play for Crimson Guard, 13 of the top 50 for Praetorians, 5 are Gondor players the remaining are split across other alliances.  Of the players at level 800 largely with fully developed halls (550) 36 are Crimson Guard and 27 are Praetorians with significant representation from Gondor (12), Odins Fury (11), Round Table (9), Steel Elite (8), Dead Mans Hand - DMH (7) Defiance (5).  Achievement which largely reflects age of account and activity reflects a lesser degree of dominance with 14 Praetorains, 11 Crimson Guard, and 5 Odins Fury players most prominent with a great split across older and more established alliances.

I'd consider a high honour score to reflect a number of things:

    1.  Players willingness to send out a high volume of PVP attacks
    2.  Players confidence in ability to attack whilst knowing they will be strongly defended
    3.  Player in an alliance where they feel safe to attack without fear of significant reprisal due to strength of their alliance
    4.  Player in an alliance which takes a limited number of incoming attacks allowing them to hold higher honour for longer
    5.  Generally those with higher honour are more agressive attacking players with greater financial resources

Level score reflects the pace of the accounts development and reflects both level of spend or a high level of activity and consistency or both.  High Hall of legends reflects the same generally players who loot more will develop their HOL faster.
Power reflects high level heroes, gems and development of food production capacity and consequently significantly greater army sizes.  So effectively with metro's RV's and full food bonuses from HOL and full builds based on higher levels of looting from top power players who have ability to buy and hold more troops.  They also as a result of consistently winning all events have much higher value PO items 325 plus so with a huge PO advantage they produce even more food and have an even greater advantage in terms of troop numbers which equates to better performance in events a virtuous cycle if you will.

Which is fine if you have fluid movement between events with players coming in gaining high PO then moving back to smaller alliances extending the benefit.  The difficulty is currently this isn't happening.  So all the extreme PO is concentrated as the power and honour rankings show in a few alliances.

Any extra 20% of food from Berimond means nothing to the top two alliances but their dominance is such that they can block out enough slots to minimise the advantage for developing alliances without trying.  So consequently you make that permanent you push them further out of reach.  If it's permanent they would presumably just lock it down the way they do other events whereas currently Berimond is rarely dominanted to the same degree by top two alliances as it doesn't represent a huge threat.  I get US server is more diverse and sounds like KON doesn't seem as dominant as they were at one stage you can see my concern I hope.

Really the PO difference has done the most damage most recently.  And this doesn't take into account the potential for multi accounts to skew the standings I am presuming it would be hard to place two multiple accounts in the top fifty competing with single account players but with enough expense that isn't necessarily the case.
Always enjoy reading through your logical and balanced arguments. Going through a few of your old comments - I would like to point out that whilst Gondor don't quite have the dominance of Praets, I have also built them up from next to nothing. I started with 9 members and a 12y/o autistic kid as my leader, but over the course of 4-5 years have continually built us up, without the wallets of the likes of Mike, or the huge players of old, i.e. Philt, AW, Ade etc. It is possible to build an alliance without massive spend, but it does take time, and a lot of it.

Also, as for honour - for me I try have high honour because PvP is one of the last remaining fun things to partake in for me, so I have it high to encourage attacks. However, it's mainly pretty much only CG that will have a go, and that's only ever at unsociable hours, so I rarely get the opportunity to defend any more. Khan is good for that but considering they can send 6 wave attacks and your HoL does not come in to play, I don't like the balance when you level it high enough. It becomes a lot harder to self support, and then by borrowing someone else's defence you are stopping them earning medal rewards. Moving on... Level. Can reflect what you mention but I think it's mainly FL/BC partakers. I rarely 'go ham' on them because I find them boring and tedious, so despite playing a lot longer than most, I am still working towards LL800. PP is a load of tosh to be, I recently had mass starvations to put me neutral in every castle. Even in the black my PP stayed over 850k, yet I had players with more troops and similar casts. It has given people more room to complain about PvP as many will hit in what some would label as an 'unbalanced' fight. This creates friction and discomfort leading to people not bothering with PvP so much - when PvP is the end game for empire.

Also, just thought I'd mention that we are fairly fluid - any time someone fancies a pop over for an event they are more than welcome. We are happy for anyone to have rewards, but do believe they should at least try to partake to earn it, so no last minute visits. Nice to have fresh faces, keep the atmosphere lively and fun.

Anyway... Just came on really to say that the new ruby buildings are ridiculous. May say they're for developing players but at those costs they'll barely be worth the development time. 168k rubies for a max university, an item that in essence has an expiry date, is just silly. (Same as the willow - although the price to max that is over 1M and the blighters won't let me delete mine! Grr.) At 227k per max Forge, with 7 castles, and a total cost of 1.589M rubies, you're having a giggle. You'll have maybe 10 players on GB1 max that, no idea about other servers, but it's probably cheaper to just buy a tonne of iron mants. You've (@GGE) apparently made changes to rebalance the game currency. Introducing anything worth over 1M rubies is proving those changes to be a joke. Rest of the update looks alright, but again, more troop and tool types... Sigh.

The Forge doesn't work as you said it does. If you have 450% tool production it simply makes it  454% production for level 1.

Not 450*4% extra as promised. Which would be 468% production speed

Their Willow of Experience doesn't give the stated % boost either, it's more like 8%.

Not sure what's wrong with GGE math.

The buildings apparently don't function across all castles too - or so I'm told.

As for the rebalacing and the ruby costs of the new buildings. What GGE said when the halved the ruby payout and cut the lucky pennies, was in essence that it had become too easy for active, smart non ruby buyers to compete, to the detriment of the whales and the people who buy from time to time.

Introducing new buildings that are only available to whales help with that. Only problem is that no sane whale would ever spend that on faster research (unless they introduce new research that takes months) or faster production of res tools. If the forge enabled you to build 10% mantlets from w/s they'd have a much bigger uptake.

The lowering of prices on ruby equipment doesn't necessarily help the whales but might help the occasional buyer, as do the constant 30% off offers for specialists.

So far on EN1 most of the big looting non ruby buyers have become a lot less active so that 100m loot now ensures a top 3 position most weeks where 150m used to be necessary, I assume this is because a lot of non ruby looters simply don't think it is worth it - maybe not worth it to loot as much, maybe not worth it to play the game at all. Whether this is good or bad for the Game is not up to me to decide, i'm one of the non ruby buyers that are responding by trying to hit more to compensate for the shortfall.

I understand GGE's perspective as they need to make money, but they are driving a lot of active non ruby buyers from the game.

The current iteration of the Equipment trader is the same one as previously, and it should be the case that future iterations include the changes.

    Cheers,

I do not believe this is true. I think that this is false. The 10 minutes are still free.

The Forge can only be built in the Great Empire and in the main castle you guys just like the University. The only question for the forge remains is if the The forge also applies to outposts as well in the Great Empire or also like the university by only applying to the to the main castle for increased tool production speed. For what its worth I would think that it would be more valuable if this also maybe applied to outposts as well and not just the main castle only.

Also, what about prime days? When can we get prime days? Is it a special event like Architect Event and the Research Event? Are the soldiers recruitable for gold coins from the barracks or are they ruby soldiers?

If you are still able to use the 10 mins free count yourself lucky because most of us now have this stupid 4 min norm they want. Chalking it up to yet another stupid move on GGE's part.

When did they say they would be replacing ten minute skips with 4 minutes in the forum skips and what thread? Do you even have a link to prove this? Usually if GGS makes any changes in the game they openly post about this on a thread for everyone to see.
