Tech Tip: Seperate Flash player

We have a suggestion to help you play Empire in a faster environment and it's as safe as playing in your browser!
This is the same flash player that you are using when you play on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, Edge or any other browser but it works without the need of any browser and therefore the performance of Empire should see a benefit and your experience should be a lot smoother.
How to use it:
- Click on this LINK a separate flash player will download on your computer. [Clicking the link will automatically start the download].
- Open the file and select "Run" to open the Flash Player.
- Select File-->Open and in the window that appears paste this
Windows: https://media.goodgamestudios.com/games/empire/goodgameempire.swfhttps://media.goodgamestudios.com/games/empire/goodgameempire.swf<br>
MacOS: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/26/flashplayer_26_sa.dmg - Click "OK" and Empire will start loading!

We hope this will improve your experience in Empire even more

Disclaimer: Any action in-game that would usually open a new window or tab (buying rubies, clicking the forum or support buttons for example) will open a new browser window outside of this flash player. In the case you are purchasing rubies do not worry, the rubies will be added to your account as usual.
If you do not like this workaround, we would kindly recommend you use Google Chrome instead of Firefox due to the last Firefox 55 changes. After the latest Firefox update, we encountered some performance issues using this browser for playing our game.
Best Regards,
Your Community Team.

Easy access of the flash player multiple times
Access the file location of the flash player, then right click on the file, and select 'pin to start menu' or 'pin to task bar' (see right) this will make the flash player easily accessible multiple times. (alternatively, you could save the file to your desktop, and then access it from there)
Using the flash player on mac
There are flash versions available for Mac
You can find them here:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
Changing servers on the flash player (if problems with doing it as usual)
When you want to change server:
- Load the game until the login panel (or log out when you logged in automatically)
- Change the server.
- Before you do anything else close the Flash Player
- Start the flash player again and log in to the chosen server...
If you want to revert to the original do the same again.Go directly to the game on clicking the icon
If you've pinned the Flash Player to your START menu, you can edit the "Properties" and modify the "Target" line to add the https://media.goodgamestudios.com/games/empire/goodgameempire.swf to the end of it, then all you have to do is click on that shortcut to launch empire automatically. For example:
"C:\Program Files\Flash Standalone Player\flashplayer_27_sa.exe" https://media.goodgamestudios.com/games/empire/goodgameempire.swf
Your "C:\Program Files" folder will probably different (plus I'm running the 27 Beta), so don't worry about that part of it - just add the https://media.goodgamestudios.com/games/empire/goodgameempire.swf to the end of whatever yours is, on the "Target" line:
You can see where I added it at the end of the line, right after the closing quotation mark "
Make sure to use a space between the quotes (.exe") and the start of the link (https.....) ; else you get an error trying to save the properties.
Just a shortcut so you don't have to copy/paste the URL every time.
For those who have the flash player stuck at loading screen/blank screen.
1) Open Default browser (or Internet Explorer)
2) Go to Options
3) Go To Browser History/Cache
4) Clear Browser History/Cache
The Flash player cache is sometimes associated with the Default browser/IE's cache, so clearing IE cache will clear the flash player cache occasionally.
