What reward do I want to buy myself with the roughly 4000 runestones I can expect to have collected by the end of the underworld event?
I'm serious, I am a none ruby player, with very few assets, and yet I'm having trouble finding a reward for the underworld that would significantly increase my capabilities.
The equipment? It wouldn't improve my commanders in the slightest.
The PO buildings? I could only buy perhaps four of them (if I do well), which would increase my overall PO by about 1%. Whoopydoo.
About 600 of the special troops? Half an army of the best troops in the game? Might sound appealing, but to a none ruby player, that's worthless. If the defender is online, he'll slaughter my wooden tools, no matter if I have cave hunters or spearmen.
I've discussed before how the equipment for this event falls into a sort of design dead-zone, with only players who don't really need it being capable of getting it. But at the time, I didn't really realize just how weird, ill-considered and altogether just messed up these rewards are. I mean seriously, I am a none ruby player. I'm so weak I need to find tricks and abuse mechanics to even have a hope of competing in this game. And yet, even I can't find anything worth my time in this event.

I recommend the armies since the rest don't seem to have much of an effect.
A mere 950 runestones when you purchase it with your frequent shoppers tablet.
