Gift/prank during golden week...

I was "blessed" with a so called gift from tanuka or whatever his name is.  he blessed one of my orchards...problem is, it says my barn is too small to accomodate his gift...so i built up another barn to level two or three...yet it still says i dont have enough room...what gives?? im not going to keep wasting money on another barn upgrade...please advise...all my other produce and stuff goes in just fine...yet, this gift just wont let me harvest it.
