     NOTES :

The temporary farms are very expensive to build so there are a few things you should consider before you decide to try one...

The first thing to consider is, do you like filling the captains orders for the ship? Once you start a temp farm the captain will always ask for island seeds whether you have them of not making it hard to continue filling the ship from that point on.

Next are your 3 main farms established enough to maintain a steady income? If you're not higher than level 80 with a steady income of $4,000,000 a day I suggest that you pass on the temp farms. The least you could expect to spend on a temp farm is 80-100 million farm dolla

    AND THE LAST NOTE : The last thing to note is, the temp farms only last 24 days. They involve steady game play for 24 days or your wasting your time and money. They don't make you any money in return, the only reason to run a temp farm is for decorations, horseshoes, houses and unique farm buildings

SPEED-RUN   DO NOTE: This is for a no gold speed-run only! You will not be getting credit for any Chapters with this, just runestones.   I will not be testing this until the next time Island farm comes around. Feel free to test it out yourself with the following info.   Plots cleared:   Decorations:   Production: 1, 6, 9, 14, 19, 18, 20, 21   4 free, 2 bought   grow Flax, Sardines, Herrings Fields:   Buildings:   make Stylish viking tunic 5 at level 4, 1 at level 1   Farmhouse level 3   sell Stylish viking tunic, Sardines, Herrings Homes:   Workshop level 3   Fence and Gate at level 3 5 at level 4   Viking Vault level 4   - 78 production cost   Viking farm Walkthrough   The first thing you want to do is level the Vault and Farmhouse.   Keep planting Flax and transferring dollars as you upgrade.   Once you have the Vault and Farmhouse upgraded  then level the free Field to level 2.   Clear 8 plots, build 5 Fields and 5 houses simultaneously until you have them all done.   Upgrade the Workshop, Fence and Gate all to level 3 as you upgrade 4 of the 5 new Fields to level 2.   Now that all that is done just upgrade 5 Fields to level 4 upgrading the 5 houses as needed.   Grow Flax all day on the level 5 Fields, grow Sardines all day on the level 1 Field and grow Herrings at night on all Fields.   Once you make it to task 5 of "Night Owl" build a Stone Mill to get credit then demolish it.   Viking farm checklist   I will be making up the checklist as I go.   This checklist will come in handy for future Speed-runs giving you a list of what to build or upgrade as you go.   NOTE: One of my fellow members,  adoptapet had a great idea to save on printing out the checklist. Although she mentioned she does it for the Theme events it will still work for the checklist.   She takes a screenshot of the page and opens it with Windows Paint and checks off what she has completed then saves it.   Viking farm Templates   Until the Walkthrough is finished there are only 2 templates.   Template 1a: Shows you the Viking farm at day 1 with the numbered plots that you will be clearing.   final Template: Shows you the final template once everything is built, upgraded and in it's place.

WORLD MAP :

	You will have to use the World map now to enter your Viking farm. You will also use the map to keep up with any needed information.
	#1 - Lets you know something on the farm is ready to be harvested.
	#2 - Lets you know that Omar or Monty are on the farm.
	#3 - Lets you know how many days are left for the farm.
	#4 - Click on this icon to see the Event Overview window and your Ranking.
	#5 - Click on this icon to see the Event Information window.
	In this overview, you can see all the stages of the event. First visit Nils Nordson on his viking farm. Help him set up his farm and sell viking gear to earn runestones, which you can then exchange for valuable seeds with the runestone trader. When you sow these seeds in the greenhouse, you'll grow Nordic fruits that Captain Barmacle will ship. As a thank you, he'll give you a reward you can use to train your horses. Remember that you can only reach the viking farm event via the ice bridge, which last for 24 days.  UPDATE MARCH 2017: The Viking Farm was shortened from 30 to 24 days.

NOTE: Although the runestone decorations are fine and dandy as far as free decorations go, I would suggest that you replace them soon as possible because they are very large.
	example: The Cult stone is a 7x6 deco with 35 happiness. You could fit 2 smaller decos in that same spot.

VIKING STRATEGY

Working out a strategy with help from LARINO'S CORNER: Be prepared to spend close to $100,000,000 Print
	Upgrade the bank to at least level 5 or 6 first. You really really need that bank!
	Upgrade the farmhouse to level 4 asap. It will give you some more workers and saves time when upgrading other buildings.
	Have 3 fields level 3. Cannot manage after all? Go for a temporary field that you can tear down when you need the workers and space.
	Upgrade the mill and silo to level 3. The sooner you upgrade them, the more raw materials you save and the more feed and fertilizer you can make for latter.
	Upgrade the composter to level 3. It will save you some time producing on the fields.
	Upgrade the fence and gate to max level. Do plan this out well, they definitely take some time upgrading!
	Only level 3 orchards are worth your time and money. Lower levels are a waste, they do not produce enough to keep you going and higher levels are not necessary.
	Upgrade the Workshop to Level 2, then at a later time Level 3. The recommended time to do that is right after chapter 3 task 1.
	All animal stables can stay on level 1. Upgrading them is not necessary. Build some more and demolish others if necessary for certain tasks.
	You will need about 10 houses, all max level. Be careful when upgrading these houses, the happiness will drop fast. Also build enough decorations (preferably pine forest) and do this step by step.
	You do not need to do all side tasks!  Do the ones that provide you with a reward that is worth it. Most side tasks ask you to upgrade buildings to a level you don't need and you waste money.
	Don’t sell or produce goods until you get a task that tells you to do so. If you do it up front, you will not have enough products or raw materials to finish the task quickly.
	Two days before the farm is due to end start demolishing everything. You will get more rune stones if you demolish everything yourself.
	When you visit Benny's runestone trader buy in this ratio...   8 Special gooseberry seeds 200,000     4 Special rose hip seeds 204,000     2 Special blackberry seeds 250,000     1 Special cloudberry seeds 310,000     total 964,000 Ratio meaning for every 8 cheapest buy 8, 4, 2, 1 or for every 16 cheapest buy 16, 8, 4, 2. This will keep the ship going with minimum loads of fruit each time.   Thank you artful (US1) Always use humus in your Greenhouse on special seeds.
