    Airplane
A man was pushed out of a small aeroplane, without a parachute but survived with no injuries apart from a few bruises. How was this possible?

In case you are wondering I knew 95% of these, i added a couple off the net

IT WAS WRONG, THE CORRECT ANSWER WAS WRONGLY

    No Passport

An ordinary American citizen, with no passport, visits over thirty foreign countries in one day. He is welcomed in each country and leaves each one of his own accord.

Is he in Washington DC visiting Embassys?

Or NYC... lots of Embassies there too.

That would be true, except that Embassies are the soveriegn trerritory of the country that they are in, not the country that they are the diplomatic representative of.

So 30 Embassies in Washington (for example) are all the soveriegn territory of the USA. Visiting 30 Embassies would not count as visiting 30 countries, they would have stayed in the USA all the time...

I guess that would depend on the semantics of 'sovereign' which wasn't specified in the question.

    -Y

Edit> Kbahr did state they never left North America.

Edit> Only other possibility then is something like Disney World which has foreign countries represented in a multitude of ways.

nope not disney, although you are on the right track

Am backtracking and the answer has been given

Answer: He is a mail courier who delivers packages to the different foreign embassies in the United States. The land of an embassy belongs to the country of the embassy, not to the United States.

    Dead in Chicago
A body is discovered in a park in Chicago in the middle of summer. It has a fractured skull and many other broken bones, but the cause of death was hypothermia.

That's not true actually, Embassies may have diplomatic protection but legally, they are not the property of the country they represent. Therefore one is not in the UK (for example) if one visits the British Embassy in Washington. Not that it matters for the purpose of this thread, of course ;)

I looked up the embassy thing myself. The land issue is apparently a common misconception.

Is the Chicago dead man another ice/glacier one?

I have a question for everyone except ghoti2, who obviously knows, but how do you pronounce, "ghoti" and why?

I will be posting tomorrow's question so it will be fresh and also the solution to the question that was not answered
    Solution
A poor peasant from somewhere in Europe desperately wants to come to the United States. Lacking money for airfare, he stows away in the landing gear compartment of a jet. He dies of hypothermia in mid-flight and falls out when the compartment opens as the plane makes its final approach.

    Pear tree
A farmer owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery shop. The shop owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?

None unless he has a plum tree too.
