You will have to open the Research tab and then under "Cooperative"...you have to start research's that will allow more members to be added. It's a process that is going to take some considerable time unless you are prepared to skip with Gold. You may want to learn more about building up Co Op's thru some of the tutorial's…

I hope we will still have an option to only open 1 Mystery Box at a time OR all if we want. Some of us like to open at certain times in case booster time is there for certain events.

I also really enjoy the "Strange Red Box's"...I have gotten a lot of items I probably won't build (mostly chicken coops) but...I have gotten some that I have put up (Co Op Orchards, Sweet Apiary's)!
