    Hello contest participants!

My name is FelixTheXth and I have been a moderator for the German forum for the last 3 years. As a fellow colleague of RosyStarling, I was approached to judge this contest, because I don't know your community. This is to avoid any bias that my English colleagues might have. I am aware that every piece of literature is always filtered by personal taste, too, which sadly cannot be avoided. But I will try my best to be fair to every participant!

    Please remember:
    • Length is not a criteria for winning, you can be incredibly short and to the point, you can be flowery in your speech, you can elaborate, just don't exceed the limit of 20 lines. Also your poem does not need to rhyme.
    • Be creative! You can have a serious or humourous approach, you can be praising or criticising, you can be punny or straightforward, you can be insincere or honest. Remember to use adequate language, though. Any words or expressions that are not suitable for the English forum in general are also not suitable for this contest and those poems will be disqualified.
    • Plagiarism of other contestants is not allowed, so try to avoid phrasing multiple lines like other participants. I understand that this might be difficult because of the topic, but you can paraphrase or emphasise a different aspect to avoid copying your fellow contestants. If a poem contains too many lines that are exact or almost exact copies from other participants, it will be disqualified.
    • One entry per participant only. You can edit your posts until the very last day of this contest. If you do not know how to edit, try the little gearwheel in the upper right corner of your post.
I hope you have fun with this contest! I certainly look forward to reading your poems!

    Best regards,
    FelixTheXth

Where you can let your imagination soar
To build a farm full of decor and more!

Where you can have fun and make friends,
And play to the day's very end!

Fun challenges and events are in store
Such a treat we are in for!
So won't you play some more?

                                                                       BIG FARM DOG

The flowers bloom, the sun does shine,
for a BIG FARM DOG is finally mine!

It's now my fun part of the game,
and my BIG FARM DOG has a name!

I call him Cyber, it suits him well,
and he likes it, far as I can tell.

He really is a sight to see.
when he does a trick, it tickles me.

I used to go to bed about 'round eight,
but this darn dog will keep me up late!

He's even more than I expected,
I swear he'll never be neglected.

Just visit my farm and you'll see,
his house is between a well and a tree.

I'm just as happy as can be,
knowing that he waits for me.

He'll guard my gate night and day,
    chasing all the hackers away.

So to GGS, my thanks I send,
with a wag from Cyber, my furry friend. <3

Note: I wrote this poem 8 years ago soon after we got our dog. I got Cyber on the very first day they were available, so Cyber is as old a dog as is possible in the game. And I still love him and spoil him rotten.  <3

big farm i want to play

With new friends it's nice to communicate

Challenges of events going on daily I want to overcome

Jumping from one farm to another time passes in harmony

in the dreams of Greta and Tessa we find ourselves with new friends we communicate

Diamonds and obsidian the new goal that makes us chase every event gracefully

A great game if you can figure out all 1,000 or more strategies

Beautiful events – bad events we chase to achieve our ultimate goal

It's up to you to choose what to do with the alliance you like the most

    Good game to all

    Best wishes great farm

    google translate

    • a Big Farm voglio giocare

      Buon gioco a tutti

      Auguri grande fattoria

I was in my home , just sitting in the couch all day
didnt know what to do to to make boredom go away
I had a new lapt top ,felt excited I must say
so I thought ... why not find a game to play

I searched and found a game called big farm
and I thought its interesting , I dont see any harm
and very very soon...I saw its charm!

I started with chickens, pigs and a big cow
and said to myself I have to play clever but ... how?
I was playing all alone so I made a vow
a coop to find to join now

I laughed with my coopmates and had a lot of fun
and sometimes I played until the rise of the sun
always excited when a new event begun
and really upset when 'Where is Lester?" was gone

I made lots of friends and kept in touch
and this is what I love in big farm so much

and just like that so many years went by
the 9th anniversary of the game is here and I won't say goodbuy

i love big farm , what can I say??  its something I cant deny!!!

    ok, both versions
sorry for my many questions to clarify this, hope this is what you mean

I would like a clarification about writing the poem in our home language as well

we must translate the english version or write something in our language the makes a rythm/ is similar to a poem?

@Jenny1979 (GR1) From what Rosy said, I believe you may post your poem in your own language if you add the translation into English in your post.  :)

are you sure? cause a google transalation is easy now but... It wont make any sense
but if I write it in greek, then I can make it similar to a poem ,writing the same things as I did in the english version...well, almost
since the exact words both in egnlish and greek wont make a rythm

I am a little confused now... I had my poem ready yesterday but didnt have the time to post it so .. should I post the greek version next to it now? the way I would write it in greek?

@Jenny1979 (GR1) Yeah, I would add it to your post in Greek if you can. Rosy did say "if possible".  BTW, I had the exact same problem with rhythm when I posted poems in forums of other languages.  ;)

Big Farm has completed nine years

and  my eyes  are full of tears.

    I need to exclaim:

It is really an exciting game!

I have been playing it for a long time

and it became my best pastime.

    I need to exclaim:

    It is an unsubstituible game!

I think of my farm every day

and I feel very happy when I play.

    I need to exclaim:

I can not live without this game!

    I need to exclaim:

    Big Farm, I  Love you!!!

    My favorite game! <3

    Big Farm completou nove anos

e os meus olhos estão cheios de lágrimas.

    Eu preciso exclamar:

É realmente um jogo bem emocionante!

Jogo por muito tempo este jogo

E ele se tornou o meu melhor passatempo.

    Eu preciso exclamar:

    É um jogo insubstituível!

Penso na minha fazenda todos os dias

e me sinto muito feliz quando jogo.

    Eu preciso exclamar:

    Não posso viver sem jogar!

    Eu preciso exclamar:

    Big Farm, eu te amo!!!

    Meu  jogo favorito! <3

Dziewięć lat już Big Farm ma
    bo to  świetna gra.
    Kurki, krowy ,świnki,
piesek - -wszyscy się z rocznicy cieszą.
Na Big Farmie się nie nudzi,
bo mam w sojuszu fajnych ludzi.
Wydarzenia i eventy - każdy chodzi uśmiechnięty
    i ochoczo dziś pracuje
    bo Big Farm świętuje .
Nine years old Big Farm is now
    because it's a great game.
    Chanterelles, cows, pigs,
doggy - everyone is happy about the anniversary.
He doesn't get bored at Big Farm,
because I have cool people in my alliance.
Events and events - everyone walks around smiling
    and works eagerly today
    because Big Farm is celebrating.

It used to be a good game by GoodGameStudios
But then along came Stillfront and started all our woes
For them it's all about some accountant's Bottom Line
and any thoughts of making it fun have all been left behind
They really don't care about the many players who bought gold now and then
They only want to keep the few who spend. spend, spend, spend, spend

On my Big Farm working night & day,
I try to make sure I am finished on time
so I can go and play.

The cow's and the chicken's give me pause,
as I work around them while I clean and not
think too myself if it is a lost cause.

A lot of player's have told me that being in a co-op
    is a must,
but I end up playing my Big Farm game alone due to
     not having trust.

I find logging into my game to be relaxing & makes me smile,
but sometimes I get cranky when thing's don't work and wonder
if the game is worth fixing to walk that extra mile.

I take one day at a time & enjoy working on my Big Farm when I can,
I Luv all animal's & make sure they are taken care of hoping they will understand.

I pretend they are real & my hope is  that I can make them feel happy & safe every single day,
Cause you never know when the game will end and go away.

Happy Anniversary & let's all celebrate,
I am glad I was here for this important date.

                                                                  The end.

Well, here's the announcement for the winners,
no matter if old pros or beginners.
I loved all the poems in their way -
a nice kaleidoscope I would say!
Some very personal, some very festive,
    some very critical, some repetitive.
It was so hard to choose just two.
So many gifted writers among you!

farmerjohn 22 and Blue Denim, you see
will be on the pedestal for me
I'd rank sylciafi and ClaudiaGdl equally
because both are my number three.
Jenny1979 as number four is next in line.
But I'd like to make all others equally shine!
Now five is the next number
which goes to Uncle John from down under.
The sixth place has Rita77 for expressing her love in rhymes.
The seventh is Heathcliff proclaiming good times.
FuriousDragon07 is eighth in this competition,
which puts him now in the position
to say he scored in the top 10 despite
not knowing how to lyrically write.
And AJR is last, not least.
Now let's celebrate and have a feast!

In my opinion @sylciafi (PL1) tried to post both in Polish and in English and it did not quite work. Here is the google translation for all you non-Polish-speakers to enjoy as well!
