You are your character so selection isn't needed. Avatar in game might be nice though. To get special seeds you need to play the island farm and earn shells to buy them. You have to be at least level 35. If you stink, use some soap :D

I added new functionality to the "how long" generator on the "cost testing' sheet. It will now also tell you how many harvests it takes, and what the shell value is, and how much dung/leaves are generated. You can even input your current inventory too see its shell worth or how long it took to produce.

I always assumed it was the happiness percent. I thought it was the happy percent off of the cost of production, much like fifty percent off. I didn't realize that it wasn't like that. Larino's Corner might have a spreadsheet about this.

The Island is really meant for high level players (they have a lot of disposable farm cash with nothing to spend it on). Lower levels can stick to producing oranges or orange fizzes to get enough shells to supply the greenhouse and ship.

I don't buy the normal seeds simply because they need a lot of babysitting (kind of like tending wildflowers). I prefer the special seeds to get the maximum output at one time.
