Compensation/sales at Organic Market

When a neighbor arrives at the organic market carts, how is compensation - above the sale price - awarded? I thought the percentage above the market price was higher depending upon how fast the order was filled. However, I have clicked the bubbles above the neighbors heads immediately upon their arrival and compensation is anywhere from 1% to 20%. It would be nice to know before filling an order what the reward for an immediate sale would be since I'd rather save products for contracts.

Please don't move this thread...I've asked this question numerous times under other threads and have not gotten a response.

I would like an answer also. I have stopped filling their orders and saving products for contracts where I can be certain of a % profit instead of a guess. 20% is very good but I seldom get it, even on an immediate click.

hmmm, still no answer. Any chance a moderator can answer the question? Just wondering if this is a glitch, if the compensation depends upon consecutive filled orders, etc.

    Hi Wendy,

Since the last update there is a guaranteed 1% bonus for all the visitors (even if they do not show a bonus tag), but for additional bonus's there is the element of chance. As far as I know, you "could" get any of the bonus's at anytime, but there is an increased chance of a larger one if you fill the order quickly. I do not know how much the increased chance is, or what the % chance of getting 20% is at anytime, as GGS do not normally give out that sort of info, but I will pass on your question to the CMs when they are back tomorrow to see if they can give any more details.

Thank you, Wabbit. So the answer is you "could" get any of the bonus's and there is an increased "chance" of a larger one if the order is filled immediately. That's what I was looking for because I click those neighbors so fast and the reward is still sporadic. Up to now I thought the 20% bonus was a sure thing if the order was filled immediately.

I thought the same, and feel a bit misled - am pretty sure that it said the quicker you fill an order, the more percentage you would get. I have many that I have clicked immediately and they don't show any percentage. Good to know that you automatically get 1% even if not shown, but I have been selling to neighbours less and less, only when they are asking for things I am already full up for in my storage, items that are easy/quick to replace such as wildflowers, and things like the event crops that aren't asked for elsewhere.

From the original Market update 3 Aug:

"So, you're trying to satisfy your customers, right?
Fast service is a very satisfying experience, so you can earn bonuses by fulfilling requests as quickly as possible:

    • Neighbors will be super happy if you can deliver products fast. They're ready to add a bonus to the dollars you will receive.
    • If you manage to fulfill a request in a set amount of time, you will receive an additional percentage bonus on top.
    • Smileys will indicate how satisfied your customers are while leaving after having closed the deal with you.
    • Next to the smiley you can see how big the additional bonus was."

Yeah, this was a bit unclear even in the official patch notes. The 'chance' explanation should be the correct one :)

I don't want to spoil anything or disappoint anyone :S, but so far it works for me as set initially:

The faster I click the customer, the bigger my bonus. Admittedly, I leave most of my neighbors standing idle, so I deliver seldomly. But when I think I can deliver without jeopardizing anything else, I will click immediately or asap. Sometimes I need to think for 2-4 seconds and then my bonus is 18-16% ...

I imposed myself the rule to only pay attention to a customer that I've actually seen walking up the trail. Customers who I haven't seen coming, will get no attention from me whatsoever!

This is how it works for me too. There has been one occasion where I clicked on a customer and only got a glum faced smiley and no percentage bonus but that was because I didnt notice the customer arriving and just clicked on it anyway.

Some kind of warning sound should be added when a customer is imminent, as we are not always on the look out for any customers arriving. We get the warning for the boat, and the neighbour arrival is similar to that.

The bonuses do seem to be random in my game. Like Jiesta, I tend to ignore the neighbours that have been there for a while and only click the ones who I've seen walking up the drive. Sometimes clicking immediately gives me a nice bonus, other times it gives none at all. If, as Latten says, the bonuses are indeed purely (or mainly) due to chance, then it seems to me that we should have a chance of getting the good bonuses with neighbours that have been standing there for a while. I haven't tested that though.

I don't really like too much "chances" when it comes to neighbours. The market is confused and controversial (and skipped) enough already. Some stability and predictability of the market behaviour would be helpful. Otherwise it tends to get more and more overlooked and marginalised, or used very very selectively by farmers with some grasp of economy rules.

I have had 18% & 20% on ones that did not just arrive, I don`t know how long they had been there, sometimes if I am on forum or afk & go back to my farm there will be some visitors already lurking there, who could have been there a few minutes or ages.

I follow the little man right up to the stand and click...still random bonuses. While we're on the topic, it does take me many seconds to try to determine if the picture is a wildflower bouquet, romantic bouquet or the other (summer?)...so maybe it should be stated on the popup bubble. My old eyes are not what they used to be!

Great suggestion I have the same issue. It would be nice if those were labeled; don't really need to label the others as we can tell what they are. I usually have to open the Farm Management tab to scroll though it to be able to see which one it is.
