Criticism: The Horse Competitions Are Massively Aggravating...

I think this game is a great way to kill time and I like popping on to keep up with everything. But unfortunately I've grown weary of the horse competitions. They simply aren't fair, at least from my angle. I come on to find my horse (currently at level 25) is losing a good 80-85% of the disciplines people challenge it to, while my success rate when competing probably isn't even 50%. I lose to horses on a lower level far more often than I beat horses on a higher level. Now of course I appreciate you aren't always going to beat EVERY person who is on a lower level, but I don't expect to be losing as often as I am. it simply isn't fair. There needs to be more balance on the people you face too. Often I'm faced with the choice of three people who are all a good 10 levels above me...and naturally I lose every time! Surely there has to be a way that horses skill levels are matched. So that while on level 25 my horse will face off against horses somewhere between the 22-28 level mark. More of a level playing field for all. It definitely needs looking at...

I think you are on the right track there KeithFred. Only challenge other horses around your horse's level you will find it is much fairer. Having been through a few of these challenges now, I only challenge those who are close to my horse's level. I just wish that the challenges would be a little less often, say once every 2 - 3 months.

I try to do that, but there are often times where my only option is to challenge horses on a far higher level than mine. I do enjoy a challenge, but it's just too much of a crap shoot for me, regardless of how good your horse or theirs is...

Hang in there... Keep training & breeding, as your horse reaches higher levels, you will start to win more. If you think about it, if your level 25 horse was winning lots & moving up the leagues, you would be drawn again horses of higher & higher levels & they would be challenging you too, so you would find yourself going backwards with the amount of points you would be losing, because the number of points you lose gets higher with each league. When you make challenges against other players, you will win gold shoes whether you beat them or not, so concentrate on using them to get your arenas upgraded & keep working on your horse & you will soon be moving up.

Same here I Can't train my Horses, cause I have NO SEEDS.for the boat . I ran out before the Candy was over. Now NO training. So No racing this is sad & then My Boat has to sit for 5 hours. & Gone another 5 hours so it can sit another 5 hours. some thing has to be done. I can't get anymore horses Can't train them

As Scissors says, don't be discouraged Keithfred. As you rise through the leagues during competition you reach a point where you cease to rise. With each competition, as your horse improves with training, you end up a little higher.
My horse is level 55; I struggle at the start faced with mega-horses but they soon disappear upwards; I rise rapidly through Silver; I struggle through Gold; I creep into Platinum, fall back into Gold, struggle back into Platinum and, so far, finish in P4.
I shall keep training and breeding, One day I shall make P3 lol

For me, 15 challenges, I win 5. It's always the average. It's always been the average...It has not changed since the start of the horse challenges., Not even using gold matters. Just more challenges, average the same.

I usually try to sell SOMETHING to the boat each day and get a few horse shoes. This does keep a steady trickle of horseshoes available for training if no seeds for ship. Granted the number is low and one must settle for minimum training, but it IS training. Actually always going minimum - you get the most free points from training area. Again - Slow but it does keep you going. With the new market, must watch priorities. I make sure I have sold to ship before I sell in the market. With regards to NON greenhouse goods to the ship, If you sell your inventory at the market, you have nothing for the ship - whatever it asks for.

Since there is just one field of racers, you will always compete with the horses from your league and class, or next neighbouring class, regardless of your and their level. Position in the field puts the competitors together. Which is perfectly fair and correct. What you ask for could only happen if there were different tournaments for horses of different level groups.

Extra races bough for dollars or gold do not change your average figures. That would make no sense as it's always the same fuel. What it should do is give you more victories in final numbers. 30 % average from 100 races will be bigger number then 30 % average from 20 races. Your average could only change if you substentially improve your horse qualty compared to your competitors. Then the chance to win increase, and wth it your average results. If you're improving at roughly the same speed as your competitors, the average figures are not likely to change.

This is not completely true - when my horse was in Platinum V I was regularly pitted against horses in the Diamond league - and on several occasions all 3 competitors were from the diamond league. I can not believe that there were no suitable horses from Platinum V, IV, III, II, or I for me to compete against. And of course the reverse is also true - I was often challenged by horses from the diamond league, most of which are at levels 30+ higher than mine.

So whatever formula GGS are using to determine the competitors, I have resigned myself to the fact that it is not a fair competition.

What amuses me the most is that the stupid horse woman chooses competitors that are nearly impossible to beat and then looks so disappointed when I don't win - what does she expect?????

One of us is getting the leagues mixed up - I thought that Platinum V was the lowest platinum league, with IV, III, II, I all being higher leagues before getting into the diamond league.

So my point was that I was in the lowest platinum league but still regularly getting competitors from the diamond league which is 5 leagues higher. That makes for a pretty big fork :)

Eh .......... you're right. I turned it upside down. :) I think I need to edit my previous mixed up post. :):):)

Your case then must be some kind of bug anomaly.

    Thanks for correcting me.:)

I think GGS work out roughly where your horse should finish, and if you have a run of good results they throw some tougher competition at you to stop you progressing too high - even if they happen to be 5 leagues above you.

I'm also surprised that they have not introduced a 'choose another horse to compete against by using gold' button so that when you do get 3 'impossible' to beat competitors you can change one in the hope of getting a lower level horse - not that I would use it, but it would give gold users a better chance of moving up the league.

With this part I have the same impression. But don't remember having competitors outside the bracket as I described it. Always my slot or the next neighbouring.
