My Horse Challenge Experiment

Cookiie4meCookiie4me Posts: 655
I have raced the same horse, at the same training levels, for the last 2 complete horse seasons. My horse, SicilyRules, is at level 83 and she is Rare (3 in the triangle). I always challenge in the Show Jumping category.

In the challenge before this current one, I bought the big gold gas tank, spent cash every day on extra fuel, spent gold on extra fuel about once a week, and I broke into Platinum Level 2, picked up my prize, but then fell back into Platinum Level 3 when the season ended.

This season, I bought no extra fuel, gold or money, and no gas tanks. I raced the first week, went up to the edge of Bronze level, where I would not lose any points when challenged, and I sat there for the rest of the month. I did not race at all. I was rarely challenged to a race, and when I lost, since I was still in Bronze level, I didn't lose any points. When the second month of the challenge began, I started racing. I get up in the morning, used the 100 fuel I got overnight, and didn't race again until the next day. I know I wasted lots of fuel, but, guess what? I broke into Platinum Level 2, picked up my prize, but then fell back into Platinum Level 3. I will finish this season at Platinum level 3.

From this I guess most of us end up pretty much where we should be, regardless of how much fuel we use. I think a level 83 horse is a Platinum horse.

Any thoughts?

I have thought exactly the same thing since the 2nd season when I was in 1st place for the whole season & hit a massive losing streak in the last week & ended up 2nd, the player that came 1st had a much better horse & so I have no problem at all with being 2nd to him, but it was strange that he never passed me until the last week, it was like the system was sorting out our finishing order.

I also saw a lot of posts about how you could not get into diamond league without using gold, so last season I deliberately started a few days late & like you I didn`t use any boosters & even lost a LOT of fuel, due to tank being full, I still got into the diamond league in 5th place & thats where I ended the season.

My experience is nearly identical to yours Cookie. I did not purchase the large fuel tank, but did spend dollars each day for the extra fuel. I raced the same level 83 horse in this and the previous challenge and will finish exactly where I did last time.....Platinum 2. I agree that level seems to decide placement, regardless of fuel purchases or amount of races run.

Sorta... but I blame the difficulty increase rather than anything else.

Last season, I was 7th, I used very little gold (no tanks), and wasted a lot of fuel.

This season, I was 6th, I bought the 150 tank, wasted a little fuel here and there.

HOWEVER... this season I got almost 300 points LESS than last season. I do not believe I'd be in the top 10 without the extra challenges.

I do think, horses seek their level. But more challenges MADE makes a huge difference, because you can't lose points on a challenge you make, and you can't gain points on a challenge made to you. Thus once your horse hits a point where you are getting the same points as you lose, you are stuck. So I suggest trying this next time....

Spend no gold, and challenge as much as you can... until you are stuck in the same points (Not the same level, the same points). Going up to roughly the same point when you challenge... and down roughly to the same point when you sign on in the morning. Record those values. THEN spend gold on racing. Tank size, etc. You will rise. It would be interesting to see how much.

I have finished at the same level in the platinum league every time there has been a competition. Last season bought a few tanks (no gold) this time no extra fuel was bought. Both seasons I played as often as I was able, roughly the same each season. Same results. I refuse to spend gold to advance, so I will continue at the same level forever, regardless of how well-trained my horse is or how often I challenge.

My horse is level 65. I Played with the same level horse the last 3 championships and still ended in Platinum 2 or 3everytime. I don't buy gold tanks, just do competitions every morning and again before bedtime with the 100 fuel.

Yakoska, thanks for the suggestion, but my gold budget is small and I already feel spending gold on fuel is a big waste. I'll just be happy I finished in Platinum again and got the Kitty!!! :)

It seems that the Horse Race behaves as if the system decided right from the start where I'm allowed to finish, and no matter how I play, I end up at that predetermined position, provided I play enough to progress. But I mostly ascribe it to quite natural "force" balancing during the competiton, which to me neatly explains even the OP tests result. Although "suspicion" is still here ........... :)

In my case, I have found since the challenges started that I average 15 challenges I win 5. Nothing seems to change, gas or gold makes no difference.

Due to GGS running the challenges so close together You can't even train.

I have a level 62 horse and I got to platinum III, to win the 4000 brown horseshoes, the previous season, and this one too, but this time it was more competitive and I fell just a few horseshoes off platinum III back into platinum IV just minutes before it ended. Still, I got my 4000 free brown horseshoes and that is what matters to me. :)

    Ehhh what?
From where do you get so much gas that you can challenge other horses non-stop 24/7 ?

Ok, I only buy gas for dollars, not for gold..
But anyway I don't think it's possible to non-stop challenge other horses 24/7

When I have empty my fuel tank, I train my horse(s) while I waiting for the gas tank fills up again.

Didn't spend a dime on extras this season and ended in the same place as all seasons before...
In my humble opinion the race has passed before it even started... Doesn't feel fair...

Horse is 55 and I ended in Plat4, last season too and I thiiink it's still the same horse.

My friend Bry though also ended in Plat4 and she started this season with a 45 horse and now has a 47. (She could breed and train again somewhere during the last days.)

    I agree.

With my 89 horse, I have finished in Platinum II two times before, and this time, towards the end, I progressed to Platinum I with almost 1250 ... after which I started only to lose, to the Diamonds as well as to Platinums way below my level. I ended up just few points below level I, having lost nearly all my challenges.

So it seems my predetermined end position is Platinum II and nothing can change this. I haven't and will not use Gold, but apparently even this wouldn't change anything.
