I've been online all night on US1 and I have not seen any update yet. I don't know how I could have missed it.
Steffi, please confirm. Has the Update been completed on US1 yet? Thank You
The ratio of bonuses and maluses for up- and downgrades of contract levels may vary depending on contract types and playstyle (player activity in general).
According to our Balancers, you should always be able to make up for a declined contract by finishing another of the same type. If you lose up to 4 points by declining a contract, how many points do you earn by finished contract?
I'll poke them again to see if everything works as intended.
Additional rewards aside from dollars of course also have significant value. If you sell your goods via the market, you should either get more dollars than the selling process through the farm management would give or additional bonuses (e.g. Karma, Horseshoes) as these are worth far more than regular dollars.
It just starteeeeeeeeeed!
There's nothing left to do.
I haven't been this happy
since the end of Horse Tournament II.
Nothing left to do
when you know that you've been taken.
Nothing left to do
when you're begging for a crumb(step 4 fairy tale event)
Nothing left to do
when you've got to go on waiting
waiting for the update to come.*
listening to some oldies till maintenance finishes :whistling:
p.s. @Latten, Nafaru: any estimate on how long the update will take btw?
Yes, I am down for the Update now too on US1.
As for the different 'currencies' (horseshoes, karma etc.) then these too have a dollar value which is part of the selling price - although the items are earning fewer dollars than the normal selling price the contract is not making a loss but is being paid partly in dollars and partly in other currencies. (Edit - Steffi beat me to it)
And a small edit, I cant ctrl + F5 in the game, but I can everywhere else.
The "newspaper" screen at login has changed. Before, it said that at the next update we would be getting new decos for the weekly events. That is now gone. Will that still be in the next update with this new mystery box feature?
Also, while it does appear that flower shop items are less, there is a greater presence of absurd quantities, such as 3000 aloe vera plants, etc. And also, absurd quantities in groups (such as 6000 apples + 2000 almonds + 4000 milk). Perhaps this is intended?
I also have a contract for 15,000+ milk (which I will do) though I don't know if my contracts are 'new' or not yet. As I was offline before the update... and I know at least one contract (That I had donated partial to) was still there. And I shipped two off, before I signed off last time.

edit> But I have 2 coming in 8 mins that I am eager to see.
Not only that, but the descriptions below the photo was all messed up too, then all my graphics got really grainy, a neighbor wanted 83 donkeys and it said I had 83/83 donkeys and I have 2100, nothing worked when I clicked on it, so cleared cashes, shut down and rebooted my computer.X(
Now the news description is ok, but the one is still missing and has been replaced with the 2 new ones.
My Ship is here and sitting on the grass as are the other boats, the boarder around the market is gone, and there are no pathways-roads around the farm! Donkey neighbor is gone.X(
The bugs are getting ridiculous! LOL, LOL, LOL X( Will try another reboot!
Edit: after another reboot, things were still the same, then decided to fill the ship anyway and sent it off, then the water appeared. Logged off and back on and water, roads and Market border are back.
Please do, because thats not a small percentage, i found out thats about 35%. and i refuse 80% of my contracts(because they ask for things that i don't want to sell or produce)

1. Standard, Tree Nursery, O, Asking for Olive Oil #332 (1,460 in my storage) for $18,475 (0 under that)
Farm Price for selling Olive Oil is $53 per unit
53 x 332 = $17,596
Farm Price $17,596 - Contract Price $18,475 = $879 profit!!!
2. Standard, University, 0, Asking for Pigs #678 (660 in my storage) for $5,695 (0 under that)
Farm Price for Pigs is $8 per unit *** yes, my screens say $8 for selling pigs!
8 x 678 = $5,424
Farm Price $5,424 - Contract Price $5,695 = $271 PROFIT!!!!
I edited the post because I had used the buying price for the items which showed a loss and with using the correct selling price, there is a profit!:)
***Thanks to Duffy Poo for correcting me. I need some sleep!!!
I must be blind, I can't find anything about progress towards contract levels. Can anyone explain this or point me towards a guide for the Organic Market?
You're looking at the PURCHASE price for olive oil. You should be checking the selling price which is $53 for a total of $17,596 or $879 profit for you plus about 5% for you 0 level contract.
Selling price for pigs is $9 not $50.
I just made a spreadsheet to keep track of things on my market. I have my first 2 contracts.

Thanks to you too, I saw Duffypoos msg. 1st. But why are your pigs $9 and mine are $8? and I double checked it too!!
Steffi, please comment...

The neighbour was happy at least. :S
The Healthier Pigs research gives you $8 at level 3 and $9 at level 4
Maybe it has something to do with your cooperatives research? Researching "Healthier pigs" let's you sell your pork chops (sorry, couldn't resist. Shame on me!) for more dollars..
Edit: Hodor was faster!
Have your co'op done the last pig research? If not, selling price is only 8.
edit...(am i slow???
Why did I get a cool down penalty for a contract that I filled?
I filled the pig contract and sent the truck on it's way and got another contract as I expected that I should.
No we haven't yet, but that sure helps to clarify how the Research is figured in to the selling price of things! THANK YOU!!!!
Another question. As I understand it, (feeling really dumb this morning now ;() people have been mentioning an additional bonus of 3-4% above the price for the contracts, where do you see that amount?
Edit by PINJO: merged posts, please use edit button
There's only 1 or 2 contracts left without cool down even if you fill all 2/4/6 of them. Cool down is normal function of contracts. After filling the first 1/3/4 (depending on the market level) contract you can only oscilate remaining 1 or 2 contracts, untill you decline them.
So you get 6 contracts, fill them all, 4 go into cooldown, two are new. You fill them two, get another two. You fill one, decline other, get 1 new ........ etc. (it's 3 out of 4 and 1 out of 2 into cool down for OM L2 and 1 respectivelly).
Or in other words, using Anouncement wording, there's 1 guarantied contract for L1 and L2, two guarantied contracts for L3, unless you decline them.
Craftycritters I wasn't ignoring you I got kicked off the game.
Now...
I have an offer for Vanilla 254 and giving me $19,241.00 I will make a profit of $191.00, doesn't seem like a good profit to me though.
Regular price for milk is $31/unit x 46 = $1,426
$15 Profit
The point's earned are roughly the same as points lost, sometimes zero points earned after fulfilling several contracts, that's why I suggested roughly 1 to 1 ratio in my previous post. Which is far more then anounced "little" regress...... For more specific conclusion I'd need much larger pool of data to draw from. And since every contract type behaves differently using who knows what criteria it's not likely that I'll spend all that time needed for observation, data gathering and analysis. Or does GGS want to put me on their paylist?
The bottom line of all my digging into the OM functionality and posting about it is my growing impression that it is a looser. In simplification for clarity, OM expect us to waste loads of dollars to get some presumably punny HS or Karma points in future, provided we keep wasting our dollars continuously on non profitable sales to keep the contracts high level enough to even get these special rewards. Which might be interesting for players with dollar overflow, but hardly for those who still struggle for dollars to develop their farms. So another 100+ level feature? If a player goes only for profitable contracts they decline majority of them. Yet declining more then 50 % (rough estimate and depending on play style) ineviteably throws the market into recession and slowly or swiftly bringing all contracts back down to zero, causing the loss of all the contract progress gained when non profitable contracts were fulfilled more generously.
It's not a complete assesment as for example customers are different story. Just bringing to your awareness that the balancing might be a bit or a lot out of line, depending on what you wanted to accomplish with this feature. In short, great feature, but not very profitable at present state.
