First, what you are referring to is NOT a mission - it is a cooperative project. Missions are competitions between/among individual players. Second, all cooperative projects operate in the same manner. Members of the cooperative must first "prime" or prepare the project by supplying three different types of collectibles in specified amounts. Each type of collectible can be supplied by only one player, though the same player can provide two or all three types. Once the project has been "primed" it may be started by the cooperative Leader or a Deputy. It then runs for a specified amount of time, during which cooperative members must harvest a specified quantity of one or more products (corn, in your example). Only products harvested while the project is running count toward the project. All products harvested continue to be the property of the member who harvests them and may be sold or used to create other products. When sufficient product has been harvested, or the time runs out, the project ends. Points are awarded to the cooperative if enough product was harvested to complete the project before the deadline.

Who are you answering now? It may be a good idea to mention a name or quote the post before you write an answer that will end up totally out of context because it is posted on the last page and the question is on a different page.

If a member has purchased a researcher and we have started the research, but the player is now inactive and I wish to remove them, will it stop the research that has been started?

The research will just continue if already started.

Click on the 3 people button, then click on the co-op (clasping hands) button. It will give you a choice (you should not be in a co-op) to find or found a co-op. Click found, have 375 gold at hand and fill out the rest of the menu, click found again. Your co-op has been created.

Some pictures of the menus can be found here: https://bigfarmtips.wordpress.com/how-does-a-co-op-work-in-bigfarm/how-to-join-a-co-op/

what is the point in a co-op tree??????

If you water it enough it will flourish and you get extra collectibles, dollars and XP out of it (always a randomly chosen set of 3 so that may be 3 different collectibles as well, while later on you do get dollars at some point or XP or both together with 1 or 2 different collectibles). As you may notice later on, collectibles get pretty scarce because you need so many for the projects. At that point having the collectibles from the tree is a nice extra. On a lower level, the dollars and XP are particularly welcome. Besides getting dollars from your own tree when it flourishes, you also get some dollars from each fellow co-op member's tree you water.

More information about the tree can be found here: https://bigfarmtips.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/all-about-the-cooperative-tree/

New members are automatically deputies. I've found that all new members to our coop are automatically appointed deputies. This gives us problems when enthusiastic new members immediately start tasks, thinking that they are helping, without realising that we've only held off because we're not able to complete the task yet. How do I make it so that new members are only "members" and not "deputies"? People may take offence at being instantly downgraded if I change it after they are appointed.

    Thank you

    Mandy

Yes ShanHa once the co op project starts then all the corn you and the other members harvest will count toward the project. Missions are different.

I have seen it where the first 2 new members in a new coop are automatically made deputies, has that changed to all new members in all coops? .... That would have to be a bug if it has. 8|

Like Scissors said, in the past only the first 2 members joining the co-op were automatically deputies. Once you put them back to member status, every member after that would just come in as a normal member. I have been playing with that for a long while when running the training co-ops, they would go empty sometimes, so I tried to find 2 deputies I could trust that would stay in the co-op so new members starting projects without my approval would not be possible. I suppose it should still be like that, because new members coming into my co-op are not a deputy. Did you happen to have only 2 members in your co-op for a while?

Only the leader can do this. He/she needs to click on the inactive person's name in either the member list or chat activity list. In the menu of this person he/she can do several things. Appoint as deputy, appoint as leader (be careful with that), send a private message, visit the farm, and remove the player from the co-op (boot button). Clicking the boot button will trigger a confirmation message, once the leader clicked yes the person will be out of the co-op.

Right now the vendor Omar is on your farm. He has 2 offers with a GML (gold mining license). One offer will give you a profit of 500 gold, the other will give you a loss of 555 gold, but you will get 5 tokens in addition to the GML (which is the cheapest offer to buy tokens for the Wheel of Fortune if you wanted). The single GML will cost 1500 gold, so it is always wise to have at least 3500 gold at hand when Omar pops up so you can buy at least 1 GML should it come by (this is pretty rare though) and run it in the mine.

You could also win a GML from the Wheel of Fortune, out of a mystery box, in the no pain no gain event (very difficult), on the candy farm and in the horse competition if you end in Platinum.

From time to time prime time offers will pop up that offer either only GMLs if you buy a certain amount of gold or a combination of other items and some GMLs for a certain amount of gold. You need to buy the gold they ask for, any gold you already have does not count.

    Hi John,

    Can I answer? The Tree grows at coop-level 10, 20 and 30 (= tree-level 5).

    Happy farming! ^^

My dot is never green - I am on invisible mode ;) Got tired of all those people that sent me a message and sent me another a minute later asking why I wasn't reacting (just one person probably, but I guessed it was helpful to avoid those situations as well. I do not like having to explain myself all the time and come up with an alibi :P) Besides that, I have the forums always open on my settings page, but usually doing all kinds of stuff before I refresh the page and see if there are new replies. That green dot would be a false indication :D
