Confused by the ship so I'd like some advice please

Carol_Carol_ Posts: 3
Hi, I've only been playing 2 days and I can sell goods via the marketing thing on the bottom bar. However I also have a ship that asks for goods. I don't understand how the ship works and google didn't help so I'm asking.

Do I get money from using the ship? It doesn't show the same way the marketing thing does.
Do I have to do huge amounts or can it be used for smaller amounts?
Are there benefits to using the ship instead of the marketing thing?

Thank you :)

Via your Farm Management tab (what you call "marketing thing") you can sell your goods directly for farm dollars. But the tricky thing is, that the bakery on your Gourmet farm (once you have this farm in the future) will ask for products, too. And Captain Barnacle/ship will also ask for products!

    1) direct selling for farm dollars
    3) delivering goods to the ship = for normal horseshoes (+as bonus farm dollars / XP) so that you are able to operate your horse farm.
    2) transport goods to bakery/Gourmet farm = to make Bakery products (later you can sell these, too)

So, it's a bit of a challenge to figure out for yourself how much you can sell directly, how much you can transport to the bakery and if you can deliver at all to the ship.

Be aware of the airport!!! Since you only play this game for 2 days, there is no rush at all to open the airport (when an Island event comes around)), just leave it idle. Because once you open the airport the ship will ask you for 2 more slots and these are always berries/fruit from the current Island event. So, then you are forced to play the island, whether you want it or not. There is no turning back!

This Island Events are part of a cycle: Airport > Island Event > Benny/trader (with his green/red/blue truck) > Greenery > ship > horse ranch. So: the Island Event never pay you farm dollars! They have their own currency, which can only be traded with Benny/barter for Island Fruits, which can be grown in the Greenery, and then this end product can be traded with Captain Barnacle for horseshoes (to be used on your horse farm) ...

But the island event is very expensive (really very, very expensive!!) so we always try to warn players not to ever start an island event (= open the airport) before you reached at least level 100, have your 3 regular farms completely build up and at least 75 mio (some think less, some think more, I tell my members 75 mio) farm dollars in your account. Keep in mind that this Island Event (there are 3 variations) has been developed especially for the higher ranked players who were sitting on their millions $ and bored ....
(only recently GGS developed a 4th variation on the Island Event ("Candy Farm") which is also intended to be (at least partially) playable by lower levels (at least according to GGS).

My advice would be: sell as much goods as you can via yr Farm Mgt tab. Keep some behind for when the ship returns (just those 4 cargos; the 5th and 6th slot will only open if you start an island event/open the airport). Don't you have enough for the ship, just let it wait for it.
Concentrate on your 3 farms for now! Build them up and make farm dollars!
Later, when you have your Gourmet Farm, then you'll have to keep some goods in stock for the bakery, too ... but you'll deal with that later....

    Happy Farming! ^^

    Hi,
the ship can actually pay you more for certain things, you can only sell the amounts it is asking for apart from the fruits made from trading from the island, but the top four are regular things you can make on your farms, always sell 2 different produce or 4 dont sell 1 or 3, the first 2 your sell will get you the lower amount of dollars if you sell all four you will get the lower amount + the larger amount of dollars, i hope that makes sense

    regards

Yes, thank you for your addition Andy!

The ship will only pay out the bonus of farm dollars + XP at 2, 4 (or 6) slots. So, do not waste any products by only filling 1, 3 or 5 slots if not profitable for your farm mgt!

Do you know "Larino's Corner"? It is a wonderful website with all tips & tricks & info of the BF game, and the page about the Island Events/Ship is to be found here

Hey, guys. It's my first post here. I've just opened the Viking farm, night version, and previously Candy farm. What will be next thing for the ship? Will 5. and 6. slot ask for one type of fruit from Candy and one type from Viking, or two from Viking? Either way, I'm not going to fill those slots, but I just want to know my destiny from now on... Like many others, I've regretted from opening Airport, didn't know what will come next...

GoodFarmer, the ship always asks for the fruit from the current temporary farm if you've opened that farm. If you don't open one of the temporary farms (don't donate the certificates for the sidebar task when it pops up), then the ship will continue to ask for the fruit from the last farm you did. Either way, I'm afraid there is no way to turn the ship back to get it to stop asking for greenhouse fruit once you've done a temporary farm.
