Praise: Hard Worker Event should come often - good for smaller farms

gavinfarms (US1)gavinfarms (US1) US1 Posts: 2,273
I like the changes to the award structure for the hard worker event. Great job. I think this event should come around often, perhaps every 2 or 3 weeks. It is not so taxing that it cannot come during temp farms or other events. Plus, it is great for smaller farms. They really have a chance to pick up some rewards with this event, and I am always pleased when something that is good for smaller farms comes along.

I second that gavinfarms. In our Co op we have some new players/members who are at a lower level and this is a great chance for them to earn and improve their farms.

A small adjustment to the time might be in order to make it win-able. Right now the time is so tight, that if you were asleep when it started, you're out of luck. The reward structure is clearly better. The timing is just still slightly off. How about 72 hours (a clean 3 days)? It would still be really, really hard and only a few would win the top rewards.

I like the addition to with the horseshoes. Don't remember that before. But maybe it was there.

I don't remember it being there either, Lexiatel, so might be new.

I love the event! You can play it as fanatic as you want, or laid back and you can still win some nice things! And I loveloveloooove the deco's!

I have done 430,000 points in the first 24 hours. Given that my list of things to gather has been as near perfect as I think could ever be possible (I have had absolutely no downtime), I figure I might get to 1.1 - 1.2 million over 3 days at the very most, if the items requested continues to be so near perfect. So clearly the time/rewards levels are off slightly from what is achievable and needs a slight adjustment..

So George & his modified machine have left again & I would like to say "Good job GGS"!!

I found the 1st one very easy & had all the rewards in the 1st day, so there was no reason to keep playing, since I knew I wouldn`t be in the top 5. This one is WAY better, I got all the rewards that I got last time, plus some extra ones that were all pretty cool.... love the 7000 horseshoes!!

I managed to get over 1 million points and I think I ended up ranked around 12th or 13th. There were at least 2 people that got over 2 million points ....WTG them!! So that means in the top 10 people reached various different rewards, which just shows that there were enough rewards to give everyone something to aim for & incentive to keep playing.

I had my reservations at first that there would be a few rewards that no one would get, but looks like it works well, so now I have something higher to aim for next time. ^^

The only addition I would make, would be to offer a "time" option for skipping, as well as the gold option. So that we could choose to sacrafice increasing numbers of hours to skip a box. But aside from that I thought was a good fun event!

I enjoyed the event. It would be nice if it ran a little longer next time it comes around. Other wise very good and loved those extra goodies!!

Really liked this event, getting rewards for doing the regular things on my farms but still working out on how to do it for the best score, but that is a nice thing. GGS even listened after the complaining when the first silo event was there that is was way to easy.

Moved all the criticism on this thread to the criticism thread about this event.

I took a very relaxed approach to this event - I wasn't trying to reach the top, just doing my normal farm activities. Obviously I didn't get to the top, but that's fine with me - I got a lot of very nice rewards for my normal farming, nothing to complain about there! Some people put more effort in and no doubt achieved more than I did, others spent gold & probably got even higher scores - there are lots of ways to play this event, which is good too.

Despite appearances, I do like this event. What I don't like however, is the uneven hours. That is, not 24,48,72, etc. So that everyone world wide has the same day/night cycle to work with.

I also believe that the top prizes, for GGS's sake are ridiculously high. But I was wrong, people were willing to give up sleep and gold to get a gold license. But that doesn't actually affect me, since I won't get there regardless, so this is my last comment on the matter.

Living in the US, I share Yakoska's views on lost sleep to optimize this event. Here's another little something that needing to sleep cost me - I had enough apples in the funnel to run past the event end, at a 5/sec rate. It was more than enough to get me to the 1.2 million prize before the event ended in 90 minutes. I logged off and went to sleep, sure that I would awaken to that prize. But no, I was informed my total score was a mere 1.189 million... Seems one must be awake and logged on for stuff to be counted.

    That's an interesting point, Yakoska!

Since events start at the same date and time in all time zones, we unfortunately sometimes run into situations that cause events to end while someone is either asleep or at work - even if the events are exactly 24,48,72, etc. hours long. :S

Not sure if we can ever come up with a perfect solution here, since some servers are sharing a lot of time zones (e.g. Spanish/Hispano-American or Portuguese/Brazillian server), but it's something we always try to improve within given limits. I'll pass the feedback on. :)

That actually shouldn't be the case, Chalaryl. If you want, you may contact Support and see if they can find the error, so it doesn't happen again.

We know that idle boxes might move on while offline currently (due to a bug), but this shouldn't happen as long as the funnel is still filled.

    Regards,
    Steffi

With 24 hour increments, at least everyone gets the same 'available' run time. Like Joe American in in NYC who signs in at 7am (which is 1 PM CEST) just in time to start vs Sheila Aussie in Sydney who signed off for bed just before 10 PM (1 PM CEST). And I'm happy that this time the event ran 69 hours, which is almost 72 :)

But If the event is in 24 hour increments. Joe will sleep the last part of the event, while Sheila will be awake for it. Its still an advantage for Joe, for sure, because this event can work while you are asleep.

But if the last 'day' is only 12 hours long (as in the case of a 60 hour event) then Joe loses 4-5 awake hours of time, and 8-7 sleep hours. While Sheila loses a full 12 hours of awake time. And seems much less fair to me.

I can't afford the event to be run every few weeks. Every few months is soon enough for me. But love the Decos.

I don't understand "can't afford". I spent nothing on the event, won lots of stuff including mystery boxes, two of which contained 300gold apiece. Now that's what I call a profit!!!!! On the weeks when you can't afford it, spend nothing, win stuff, problem solved! lol

Why does it need adjusting?...because you didnt get the top reward prize??...maybe try running the gauge at 10 during the entire event and then you might come close to your so called "near perfect"

I can understand that low level players "can't afford" to have the silo event run often. It doesn't mean spending money on the event (or gold for those who do). When the silo wants you to produce cabbage, and what you need is corn so your chickens don't starve, it can slow down your progress. The same with barley/dandelions.

And don't be braggin' on your mystery boxes. I got two mystery boxes out of one mystery box and other than that it was all feed/humus. :(

Yes you can. Simply pick a multiple of 24 hours. 24,48,72,96,120,144 are examples. I suggest 120 if you are going to leave the current prize valuations.

I love the No Pain, No Gain Event. It's one of the events I can actually get some good prizes from since I hardly ever get to finish the weekly events. This is one of my favorite events. Good work GGS !!!
