Thank you, Jiesta! I think Larino has the right idea. Just add a "NONE" option button. I don't like the look of that profile picture on my farm one bit! no.gif

If you go back to the notice board you can select another option. Sadly you can't have the barn back but I have gone back to the medal from the first competition. Best of a bad lot!

I still think those medal avatars would look much better less empty. Like this, obiously the picture should be drawn by someone that actually knows how to. And a bit bigger medal, less background color in the farm view.

No need to dump them, original suggestion to give us a choice to not use one is much better.

Human avatars don't really work very well unless they can be adjusted by the user or selection is absolutely huge so one can pick one that in some way represents the player. Having a picture of a random guy there is just odd. I'm sure the person drawing thos had a lot of fun, but it's just not a very good idea.

LOL! The last one is supposed to be a woman..(we think). We dubbed her 'Hillary's sister'. The others we call, 'Broken nose kid' and 'Axe murderer'! Too scary having any of them staring at you for sure!
Most of us chose to go back to the original 'empty frame'--but the entire co-op agrees....
We want our barn back too!

The last one appears to have a goatee - unless German women are more hirsute than I thought, it's got to be a guy. But yeah I'm using the empty plaque, none of them is me.

I think that last person is based on Conchita Wurst if you think it is a woman :P Go Google it if you are non-European and have no clue what I am on about. She won 2014's Eurovision Song Contest. No offense to these people btw! I kind of like Conchita.

I agree! We should have a 'set none' option. I didn't even bother changing my avatar the last time so I still have the platinum medal. I would like to have my barn back too. It reminds me of when I started the game. :)

Just a point... they are based on real people who work for GGS if I read the announcement thread correctly. Aside from the topic, which is a good one, "None" should be an offered choice, this thread is full of really nasty comments.

I do like the idea of this one, nice medal with small image of the horse, the "person " images would have suited better if they were jockeys

If they are based on GGS people, then why would a player that is definitely not represented by one of these people that work at GGS want to set it as an avatar? Avatars represent the player and if the player does not feel that any of the avatars suit them as a player, they are kind of useless. Why would a female player set a male avatar? Why would a male player set an avatar that does not look anything like him at all? Besides that problem, I think GGS could have done a better job drawing these faces just that bit less creepy. Then at least make it more cartoony like the little people on the Viking farm or more like the style of the Big Farm characters.

I agree, and also wonder why all are male except for the one with the hat, maybe female? Therefore all female players have the same avatar?

These avatars make me feel like I'm challenging the same player over and over. There's not enough variety for the number of players on each server. It's not unique when everyone is picking from the same 5-6.

Not one of the best additions to the game, but whatever. I don't play BF for avatars.

    Hey everyone,

we've received a looooot of feedback in regards to the avatars already.

First off: yes, they are based on real people - GGS employees working on the game and we did a raffle to figure out who is going to be put into the game next. Due to this raffle, a lot of male avatars were put into the game with this season.

We realize that there should have been more variety, especially for our female players, and have forwarded this feedback already.

Furthermore, it was suggested that deselecting avatars to go back to the previous empty barn display should be an option. The team has considered this to be a valuable idea and has agreed to add it as an optimization as soon as our tight schedule allows for this change.

We'll make sure to also pass on your ideas for additional avatars in the future.

    Thanks for all your feedback!

    Regards,
    Steffi

May I just put it out there that we collective complainers disparaging the appearance of the avatars as creepy owe one large shamefaced apology?- insert appropriate icon here - Now that we know these images are based on real GGS employees (who participated in a raffle to be chosen), how do you think they feel about those comments? Jeesh.

Sorry, even I have write these horse turnaments avatars are ugly, I don't feel any reason to say apologize for critism some drawings.
    - I still say these avatars are ugly
    - it's not the models behind the avatars I say are ugly... It's the caricatures I say are ugly, which is exactly the same when I say the games characters George and Lester are ugly... but they at least in some way looks funny :)
    - and Tessa? - Wow, she's looks pretty nice. :)

Nice to see that GGS at least have listen at our critism about the avatars...
Can we also hope that GGS have listen to our critism about that "friend" task ans soon will give us an answer on that?
