why diamond league players continue beating platnium players?

I mean I see some players with 3000+ or 4000+ points, what's the point of that?
if you have reached diamond, and still want to get more GHS at least just challenge diamond players only and let other platinum players reach diamond too, it won't reduce your prize anyway it will just allow other players to get more prize too.

But to answer your question:
It's true that once you reach diamond league you can not drop out of it during the rest of the season but there's still a fierce competition going on. There are additional rewards for being one of the top 10 players. To besure that one doesn't lose a ranking one goes for the challenge one is most likely to win.. Can't blame them!
I rather have GGS making it more useful to challenge higher opponents than to try and make competitive players chose their challenges based on morals..

Try see yourself as a diamond player in the middle of the ranking list and want to challenge somebody:
you have 3 choices: The top diamond player who have a horse 18 levels (or more) beter than yours, a diamon player who have a horse 10-15 levels better than yours, and a platinum player with a horse in a lower level than your horse.
- which of these 3 horses would you choose to challenge? (remember whatever you win a easy victory over a very weak horse or you are extremely lucky and win over an much stronger horse, you only get 4 ribbons)
The game does reward players who challenge horses that are higher levels - I get a huge number of Golden Shoes when I beat a higher-level horse rather than one lower level or even equal. The problem is, with the limited number of players in Diamond League (29 on the US server at present), I sometimes have only Platinum horses in my queue and have no choice but to challenge them.
this does makes sense a bit yea, I mean I know that announcement says:
*The top players within diamond league get a chance to win additional rewards.
but it's not showing any more prize right now though right?(aside from the league prizes which is for all diamond players) well i guess we have to wait 2 more days to see if there actually even is any additional prize for these players. if it exists yea maybe they do have a point, but if it doesn't then they just been constant bullying other players only all this time
Same sometimes happen to me on the skn server where we just now are 22 players in diamond league.
The top 10 get avatars, but I don`t know of any other prizes yet. :thumbup:
I've seen this several times. How do you know how many players are at which league on your server?
Isn't there suppose to be titles as well?
When you have entered the diamond league, you unlocked the name list for which other players are in the diamond league:

Yeah and trophies too, but so far I have only seen a post by Steffi regarding who gets the avatars.... 4th-10th place all get same one & top 3 get different ones... Not sure who gets titles & trophies.

If you are in the 'pack' the 3 horses will be roughly in your ranking, and near your level... with 50% of the time being higher, and 50% of the time being lower. But once you hit diamond... if there are only 21 other horses in diamond, and you are one of them... suddenly there is a 20% chance of another diamond horse, and an 80% of a high platinum being selected.
I think that's really why it works out that way. If the range of 'selectable' horses is wider that 100, then its even 'worse' for the high platinum players. On the bright side, if you are one of these leading platinums and treading water... don't fear, the 'pack' will catch up... and change the odds, and you should still be able to get over the hump into diamond.

either way I'm not blaming diamond players for this though, cause everyone want more GHS and such anyway. but i do suggest that if you are a diamond player and "are sure that can't reach top 10 for extra prize" then at least be a bit more nice to platnium players instead of bullying them. if you do that for few days then they can reach diamond too and then you can challenge them in diamond instead.(this basically means the system has flaws though like i said its not players fault, its just a suggestion to fix this problem a bit and allow more players to reach diamond)
btw a question: what was the top 10 extra prize anyway? did it even worth it i mean or was just an avatar?
On the skn server, I was exactly it that situation you talking about here.
Believe me, when I have the choice for doing that, I choose to challenge players close to my own level and rank.. in fact, the best I like was to challenge players up to 3 ranking places higher than me, because if I beat a horse in a higher rank than me, that horse miss 4 points at the same time I win 4 point = the way to pass that player on the ranking list.
But it's very ofen happen that, I only have 3 platinium players to challenge...
- or 2 platinium, and one of the diamond 1, 2 or 3'rd place horses (who have horse so much stronger than mine that it's waste of fuel = waste of money to challenge that horse) (I ended as nr 13 or was it 14 on the ranking list)
And weird enough... on the us server where I was in platinium league the last 1-2 weeks most of time I'm only have diamond players to challenge... and that was players with horses between 15 and 19 level higher than my horse.
- only rare I get platinium horses to challenge.
