I find this great fun!! Ofcourse GGS' timing was absolutely off, I had demolished a lot of small deco's just weeks ago before the mission-competition, but I still had quite some to demolish for parts.

I now have a veggie patch back on my farm and a pile of goods, both with very good happies :D

I love that you can use dollars, parts or gold too!

The only thing I dislike is that it defaults back to 'use gold to improve.' It's just paying attention ofcourse, but I already managed to do it once....

All in all a totally awesome improvement to the game! Thanks a lot!

I don't understand why we can upgrade fields, houses, barns, ect. But when it comes to decorations their is no upgrades. I think it would make playing Big Farm a more enjoyable experience.

Surprise!!!! The latest update made it possible to upgrade decos. However, it is event based and is only possible when the landscape architect is on your farm. She is on mine at this very minute. She lets you dismantle the decos you don't want for parts that will let you upgrade/increase happiness of the ones you want to keep. Or you can upgrade them for cash or gold.

    Happy farming!!!

Are all levels using the landscape architect? We have a co-op member on a level in the 30's and she does not have the red truck outside her farm.

Congratulations on a job well done.

This event is an excellent way to spend the farm cash. I find this very motivating to continue playing Big Farm.

I hope the frequency of the landscaper event will be at least once a fortnight.

I didn't only do it once....I kept doing it until it said I didn't have enough gold. :( Stupid me for not paying attention. You would think I would know better by now. My husband got to hear some colorful words when I realized it though.

The decos look the same. They just increase in happiness. :)

I'm level 47 and unless the event is over, there is no landscaper on my farm. Just the tent for the Hawaii event and the rune trader.

Hi all, great update! But I also have one player in my coöp who does NOT have the landscape designer next to his farm, can this be a bug?

He has already logged off/on, that did not help. Also he cleared cache, did not help either.

    Hey everyone,

first of all, thank you for such nice feedback!

We're glad you like this addition to the game, as we planned to implement it based on your suggestions to begin with. :)

The landscape architect is available from level 50. Unfortunately we cannot currently offer this event for lower level players as it would become too expensive and confusing for players in these levels and we would like them to focus on the decoration struggle in the first couple of levels in order to first teach the basics before making them upgradable.

Maybe one day there might be a low level version of the event - with some more limitations in place. I won't make
any promises, though, for the aforementioned reasons.

    Regards,
    Steffi

It would have been nice if this bit of info had been included in the official announcement.

I agree - this is one of the best updates I've seen! The best part is that now people will be able to choose their decos based on appearance rather than just going for the highest happiness ones. It should make for much more variety in the farms. :)

A great addition to the game. Definitely one of the better ones. It is fantastic that it allows for farm cash, gold or parts to carry out updates.

*warning* when upgrading check that you are using the currency you wish each time you bring up a new deco - dollars, parts, gold

If GGs fell this to be true for what is a relatively simple event,
how on earth can they make the Island/Shell Trader/Greenhouse/Ship/Horse Training/Horse Breeding/Equestrian PvP Competition available at level 30?

Do they feel that this is neither expensive nor confusing?

There would appear to be some inconsistency!!!!!!!!

    P.S
Like everybody else, I think the landscape designer is fab, a great addition to the game, well done GGS.

    Great update, thank you!

This does cheapen the value of the + 90 temporary Island decorations. Why spend over 100 million to complete all 3 chapters to receive the Large Sand Castle when you can complete a Specialist difficulty weekly themed event + 78 and upgrade it to + 90 way cheaper than 100 million? With that 100 million you can probably get it well into the 100s. Just an observation. Yes, you need the shells/runestones for the greenhouse seeds, but the deco doesn't mean as much now.

I feel sorry for the players that participated in the orphanage charity drive for the telescope decoration. I know of some players that spent 200 million + for that high happiness telescope and this update has cheapened it. Having said that overall its one of the few updates this year thats quite good and beneficial to the farmers.

I will agree this can be expensive, but on one hand a player can use it with no money expended, or they can go bankrupt using it. On the other hand, the temporary farms guarantee a player will spend a lot of money to complete them or even complete a single level.
Bottom line, anyone should be able to access this event even at level 20

As long as I played this game (+- 2 years) collecting better deco's has always been the main concept.
Buying better deco's, themed events with better deco's, wheel of fortune, the island etc.
They even adjusted the happiness rule to make it harder to run a farm without them.
A lot of rules where changed to make the game harder.

With this upgrade this whole concept is thrown overboard.
I like the update sofar, but I do see some dark clouds in the near future.

I think we ought to give this update a chance Trippel2 :) I have been playing the game for about 10months now and I went thru all the weird updates & bug fixes - from the Ship, to Island Events & Horses !!
I can easily say, that Landscape Architect is one of the best additions, and the least glitchful so far.
I do agree, that a challenging, more competitive game is more entertaining & it holds the attention for longer, than a game you play and everybody wins non-stop.
I have been collecting the deocs, same as you. Events participations to get great decos without using gold are a MUST !! It's also fun and a sense of satisfaction from completing the Event (no matter what level the farm is and the deco).
Lately I have been pondering what am I going to do with those winning decos - as I'm running out of farm space to put them in and selling them for extra farm cash is simply, so poor it's not worth it :/
The update feature of Landscape Designer provided me with a descent use of "extra" won decos from Events !! They will be taken apart for parts to upgrade the chosen few, which will remain on my farms :)

Another valid point is - the first visit from Landscape Designer, pretty much cleaned my drop-box & stored in inventory, unused decos :) What does it mean ? it means , Greta (the Landscaper) visit next time, will not provide me with as many upgrades to the decos ;) I will have less parts & also most upgrades will be done with farm cash and that gets very very expensive, quick !!!

Sincerely - I would not worry, between spending the extra cash on building Island Events and now upgrading the decos, GGS provided an awesome use (spend) for the hard earned cash ....which otherwise was always sitting in the farm bank doing nothing , lol

Enjoy the update, do some garden work for Spring !!
Well done GGS, one of my fave updates in game - enjoyable & refreshing, thank you for the gift !!

(ps. also I think, everybody in the forum is so use to complaining all the time, they would not recognize something nice and useful, in updates even, if it bit them in the "ars", lol)

I agree with Moonions, though I would agree with Trippel if the Landscaper was available to all levels.

The fact that it starts at level 50 seems about right to me, as it means the challenge of the game is still there for the crucial part, while you are building your farm & there are also those tasks for "have x number of decos on your farm". Once you get to level 50, or just above, those tasks stop, you reach the top level for event decos, most of the build menu decos are unlocked & available to buy & you start to get a stash of decos in your inv & dropbox as well as some spare cash. So it "appears" to be set to the right level, time will tell. ^^

With this event, brings back wheel of fortune into play at least for me, I am now planning on trying in the WOF due to the amount of decos I can get. Definitely will be able to use them during the landscape event

I haven't been this excited about a new event since, ever? Sure feels great! The landscape architect really does make the wait time for upping happiness a little less brutal. Its nice to have an event that makes playing a bit more enjoyable for once. Thanks for this GGS

This event has made me start to play the WoF again too. I stopped playing it cos there was nothing on there I needed or wanted, except maybe some Rose/Violet seeds, cos you can never have too many of them. So I had saved up 36 tokens & I used them all on Monty`s last visit.... I won 10 decos and instead of cussing them & throwing them on the pile of unwanted decos in my dropbox, I was happy dancing ...Yay!! 10 decos to disassemble on Greta`s next visit!!
