I am an experienced player, I have been playing this game for about 2 years I think, maybe 3, time flies.

I guess I must be still pretty stupid because I just accidentally spent 2000 gold on renaming a horse. Are you kidding me? Why would I want to spend 2000 gold to rename a horse that will probably be used for breeding soon?

It went down like this. I bought 2 new horses. I names the first one Gulagh. Then I went to name the second one Bunty. Somehow I renamed Gulagh to Bunty instead, and 2000 gold disappeared. I don't remember seeing the 2000 gold payment on the screen or changing the name from anything but Goldy (the default) but it's all a blur. What happened? Is it a bug?

If it had warned me about the 2000 gold being spent I would have stopped.

GGS would get more people buying gold if they knew it was safe. It is clear they are deliberately milking the accidentally spending thing, only thinking in the short term. Do they sit behind their desks with great big smirks on their faces ringing their hands in the glee of sadistic pleasure at all the people who keep falling into the traps they have set? I am convinced it is deliberate. It is also foolishly short-sighted and will cost them in the long run.

If they want goodwill and trust from their players, and be able to increase their player base along with their income in the long run, they will put some kind of warning or lock in place. Whoever is running the show clearly only sees short term dollars signs, is greedy and stupid. These are not insults, just statements of fact. No company in their right mind would let this continue if they had any sense of decency or morality.

Everything GGS is doing is geared towards making them money thru gold purchases, for them not to reimburse you is not a surprise, just take a look at how the farm operates, the hot deals, and the amounts of people using gold on a daily basis. I would never have expected them to help you out because of their attitude towards the playeys, yes occasionally they are helpful, but overwhelmingly the do not care

To reiterate, a simple answer. A gold lock for whether or not to be prompted as regards gold spending.

As a nice extra, an optional password for unlocking the lock or for saying yes to the prompt. This is to guard against children and mischief making.

These types of incidents and the problems I've experienced recently with this game has me seriously questioning whether or not I'll continue to play. I had already decided to hold off on buying more gold for a while (I, too, wasted gold planting magic beans and clicking on unexpected pop-ups), but when I see the obvious greed and total disregard for loyal players, I must rethink the time and money I constantly put into this game.

Very good, that's how I did it to. Arrange your farm so you don't have as much a problem Or of course slow down.

Two things. One, it would be nice to have another means of acquiring gold, like a game cash for gold exchange. I feel I was tricked into unwittingly spending gold early on in this game and I was being careful about spending gold, trying to save it up. When the magic beans became available, the first planting or so didn't cost any gold then it changed at some point to costing gold for each planting. I didn't notice this change until ALL my gold was gone. Now it is going to take me a VERY long time to earn enough gold to mine gold at the mine.

Second, it would be helpful to have an option to search the threads for subject matter without having to read each page trying to find if a subject has already been posted.

I think a pop up that states "You are about to spend Gold" would be the best thing to solve the problem of spending gold in error. Like the one that asks you to confirm Demolition.

Good idea. Or a confirmation to the effect: "Do you really want to spend X amount of gold for this action?"

    1) Has been asked for a zillion times in past 2 years. Won't happen. And though I understand the vexation/grief when accidentally spending gold, it still is a matter of paying attention and being (more?) prudent. It's a strategy game, full of tricks and difficulties, as a strategy game befits.

    2) When typing a keyword in the search bar; I can find the info I need "reasonably" quickly. You are dealing with people .... that says it all. Most people will start a new thread about everything, because they don't want to search for an existing thread on topic. Which creates chaos in the forums. Has been begged for a zillion times not to do it, but nothing helps ..... even GGS can't do anything about it. Mod's are already running all over the forum in an attempt to at least move posts to an on topic thread...
Moreover - if you really want to learn as much as possible to play this game right - you will still have to read your way through the forum to get your info. Reading is a virtue in itself!

    Happy farming! ^^

I agree with Jiesta that it is possible to find things fairly quickly on the forums. I click "Advanced Search" & then type usually just one keyword & change the setting from "search entire posts" to "search titles only" which usually brings back less results but more like the ones I am looking for. I also select the forum to search if its a keyword that is likely to be very common & I already know I am looking for a suggestion or a bug etc.

Bear in mind that it is possible to break the search lol.... If you do too many in a short time it stops giving results for a while, which can be annoying.8|

I once spent 20+k in gold because my mouse had a fuzz ball under it. Spent 14k when my friends laptop had tapping turned on so as soon as I set my finger on the touch pad WAM gold was gone and I was into a half day upgrade I did not want. Attention/Prudents had nothing to do with it.

Simple gold lock that player can at-will lock and unlock is the best idea and would solve all issues. There is a buy gold clickable button on the right side of the gold window, there could easily be installed a gold lock clickable button on the left side and some indicator as to whether gold is locked or unlocked, such as an icon or color. This would appease all players and keep the gold easily accessable for spending.

There are so many cool and helpful things to spend gold on that players will continue to want to spend gold and will feel better about doing so when it is spent on things they WANT and not on things they feel they were tricked or coerced into buying.

Happy players = happy customers = more profits. Simple and true.

    i agree totally....Barrkley....well said.

i used to buy gold occasionally...i played for 3 months before i brought gold...then i brought more and when game was lagging a bit before i turned animations off and accidentally upgraded nursery that i didn't want to spend gold on... end result after buying gold again and loosing it through missclicks i wont buy gold again until safeguard is in place.
playing on a laptop is slightly different than playing with a large screen.....on laptop you can hover over say chickens and pop up for fence might come up or pigs might come up, without ever moving mouse.....so accidentally spending gold was easy to do.....
having no gold means you cant loose it....though i would love to upgrade water tower and workshop im not risking buying gold and giving ggs my money when they don't care about players like me that want my gold protected...

having a pop up that says confirm gold spending is wonderful sounding to me....not scary at all....if i want to spend gold on something ,then i want to spend gold .....if i didn't want to spend gold on it, then a warning that i can say no to it ..... would make me a huge gold buyer.....it very simple.....for those that don't want option turn it off.... for those like me that do want it turn it on...everybody is happy..

I would like to know how you managed to be in 3 different coops. I'm in a coop with 5 members and it won't let anymore in it says my coop is full and it will not let me join another or let me put out for applications. Any suggestions?

It's pretty clear now that GGS have no intention of adding a gold vault or a confirm gold button, so to save spending gold accidentally with an incorrect mouse click could we have a delay on the Use Gold button after opening the ring menu of one or two seconds? - the same as the delay when offers pop up. (Yes, I've just wasted another 90 gold rushing my apple harvest by accident).

I agree that something with the button is the way to go, maybe not a delay, as that may annoy people doing rapid harvests in missions, but possibly a double click or a 2nd button like we have with sow last seed.

Could you be so kind and make it so that we need to confirm if we will use gold to make a product finished or upgrading a building.
I'm tired of wasting my gold by mistake.

This has been asked numerous times over the past 1.5 years I've been playing this game. GGS will never do that since it causes people to use more gold which will make them want to buy more gold. GGS will only make "improvments" on the game if it benefits the company...not the player.

WE all have a better chance of going to the moon and singing alongside Elvis than GGS implementing a "safety" feature for Gold usage. They have spent time programming it so you could possibly click buy with gold by accident, so they are NOT going to put anything in place to counter that. Nothing on big farm is an accident, error or bug, it is all deliberately programmed that way, we have to press a link 2 - 3 times just to sell crops or transfer them, but smile at the use gold button and thats it, your gold has gone.

    Greetings!

Have you ever looked up and suddenly noticed your GOLD was missing? What happened? I did not buy anything because I am carefully hoarding each golden coin to use in the mines!! BUT its GONE!!

Well.. you petition .. then you discover that somehow you had accidentally use the buy now button and POOF your gold is gone :( . So .. you suffer .. you mope around bemoaning the months it took for you to gain your little stockpile of gold .. but .. its gone..

BUT WAIT!! There is a simple solution! Add a little pop up that says .."Are you sure" with a little yes or no button. That one little thing would save us all from endless misery and if you hit yes and didn't mean it well then I can truly agree ruff ruck .. think of all the gold you would still have ..

IF you think this is a viable idea .. POST here .. let the Devs see that YOU AGREE!! Then maybe we will all be saved from the mopey misery of loosing your hard earned gold over a caress click ..

Thank you .. appreciate your consideration

I hate to be the one to tell you this, Bonadlena, but this has been suggested many, many times before and the answer has always been an unequivocable NO. Sorry. :(

That is so very sad to hear. Such a simple solution to an issue that has to consume vast amount of CS time just looking through logs to see just how player Jo lost their gold then send the sad email .. when a little button .. would save them so much ..

Well I guess it gives them something to do.

but .. between you and me .. i think if they heard this often enough maybe they would take note .. so .. will try again .. maybe use a different title .. something catchy ..

It's been suggested often and although the CM's on the forums see our problems, they haven't gotten it beaten into the developpers heads yet that we, the players, really, like REALLY, want to see an 'are you sure you want to spend gold?' button in the game.
Preferably with an option to turn it on and off in settings or something like that, so that people who use gold in missions can still do that without having to confirm every single thing. Or perhaps, and I'm thinking about this while I type, a slider you can set for yourself, asking for a confirmation of gold use if you want to use over an x amount of gold.

We have a confirmation button on demolishing, how hard is it to make one for gold spending?

Could you please have some kind of pop-up prompt which checks whether someone wants to spend gold or not. I'm forever accidentally clicking "complete early" icons, etc and losing gold. The more gold I get the more common this becomes and the higher the amount of gold. I've just lost 250 gold overnight and I have no idea what i clicked and spent it on. It's very frustrating and happens very frequently for me. A check prompt would make the world of difference: "Are you sure you would like to spend 250 gold?" and you can always give the option to switch it off for those who don't want it.

    Thanks
