It is quite possible! Nobody has challenged me on two of my farms yet either, though I have had 9 challenges on my US game. Could just be the level of your horse, or times you've won that lands you in a zone where most players aren't at a level where they get the choice to challenge you yet.

I've been challenging as much as I can with the fuel available, but still no challenges. Just wondering if anyone had similar experience. Thank you.

SirGeorge: someone in my co-op is seeing the same thing. As I am getting 50 challenges in 2-3 hours, it's real hard for me to believe anyone is getting none. I'd say post in the tech section.

Has anybody challenged someone yet? I did, but I'm not sure if I won or lost; the whole board is confusing to me and I didn't get any notification of the challenge, the win or the loss. I thought I would atleast get a notification message. The only notification was the original one that this whole competition/challenge thing has kicked off.

A big help would be posting the board and showing the details of where and what things are on it.

Yes - did few challenges already :) Won some, lost some - depending on your opponents and the horse you using. How to compete with others ? this is how I did :)
Click on your Competition Transporter - this will give you 3 tabs at the top - in first tab you got your competitors. Second tab allows you to choose specific horse, for specific type of competing. I have the same horse chosen in all three - my best one of course. Third tab, gives you a chance to compete with George, Lester and Tessa as well :) (always good to earn extra competition horseshoes)

So back to tab one - choose one of the opponents(click View) , check what stats your horse is getting against their horse - I picked the best stats of wining for my horse in Racing !!! If this is what you like - click "start" and the race will be in progress !!
You will get results for winning & for losing (in bronze league now)
    3gaN9u9.png

To bare in mind - each time, when your horse races, your truck transports it to the race-spot (little story I made up to explain), so you use up fuel - the fuel meter is at top left corner >>

    n0RQ5ER.png

You can compete pretty much, till your fuel runs-out ;) which I did and waiting to refuel now !! and training my champion in meantime !!

So far after few races - and two partial refuels, Im in bronze league at lvl4 ;)
    3GQof0X.png

Hope this helps a bit , cheers to Texas !! ;) and good luck to all, may your horses eat hay & run fast !!!

Mods... can you confirm the actual number of days of the Season? is it 30, 31, 28? Approx a month is non-specific, and also doesn't fall into 6-12 without a significant rounding...

and 2, can you confirm there is yet MORE to come with the horses? I refer to the as yet "Not Available Yet" lock at the bottom of the stall page in the stable. :)

Yakoska, using just analogy, a "month" in game timer terminology means anything between two months and one month, in exactly the same way as "2 days" displays right at the moment it becomes 2 days, 23 hours, 59 mins, 59 seconds. So 6 weeks fit perfectly :)

    Sir George,
Perhaps they are skipping yours/mine if you have a high level horse as the challenger. Like you, I have had few challenges from others, only 1 so far.

Hi, I think there may be a bug with the countdown timers in the Gas Station. According to GGS it should reset at midnight (I think). My timer flipped over to 24 hours and started counting down again without resetting it to 0, it still reads 3/3 on both the small and large fuel amounts, even though I haven't bought any today ?(

If GGS could cancel all leave and suspend lunch-breaks whilst they attend to this urgent emergency I would be most grateful ^^

While in reality, for every challenger there is someone being challenged, so chances to win points in theory and on average equal chances to lose ranking.
This would be true if the challenger would lose points for losing the challenge and the one being challenged got points for winning. The reality however is different and the advantage is with the player who has the most fuel. An advantage in the range of 60/40 over a player with less fuel.

If there wasn't any advantage, why bother to buy fuel in the first place?

SirGeorge - I think when you open the Kickoff message, it will tell you , your starting rank is BronzeV and you gotta click "Okiey" in order to participate in challenges - I guess, that means you agree to show your horse to other opponents !!

Everytime I open my Competition Transporter, I see 3 challengers and their stallions - the only time I can not compete is when my fuel is below "12" units needed for each competition...

Ok so I challenged and won my first competition. Still have 98/100 fuel, but it will not let me challenge anyone else. Am I missing something? I click on another player and click the start button and nothing happens

I am bitterly disappointed in the horse ranch so far. Please prove me wrong.

So I re-loaded the page after clearing my cookies, now getting an error message saying that I have "not enough energy"

    98/100 fuel is not enough?

Yes even my little horsie is doing good too(she is a bit moody though). Won 113 (edit)gold in a challenge without even doing island farm.
    I am rocking!
    Cheers to All!:D

Re-load again and it says I only have 2/100 fuel now. So what happened to all those other competitions?

Although the racing itself may seem ok the prizes on offer look like some joke. Events where you don't have to spend millions on an island for the horse shoes offer much better prizes. Its really very depressing to see the circle of island, greenhouse, horse etc finally ending with very little to look forward to. Certainly after waiting for so long one expected to win something more worthwhile from all this.

I am disappointed about the horse ranch challenge, after all the hype, I feel this game is so unfair as both the missions and the now the horse ranch gives challanges by players of a very high level against players in a low level, to be fair the competitors should be within 10 levels of each other to give both parties a fair chance and encourage all players to steadily build up their horses. There is no encouragement when I a level 60 player spots one of my challengers is a level 200+ there is no way I could compete or even try to compete in that case.I am playing the ranch game.but with gritted teeth as abviously the higher level players have been playing a lot longer so have a lot more horseshoes at their ranch to train their horses with. Come on goodgame give all levels a chance of winning by narrowing the level range.

Same here, the counter did not reset at Midnight Server time.

And it needs to be more than 3 in 24 hours. Otherwise, there is no real shot at getting very far along in those rankings.

I think it's only here in the first season there can be very big difference between horses meeting each other, because everybody starting from the bottom.

If I have understand instructions correct, when next season start up, the strongest horses will start in higher ranged liga's than the lowest liga (Bronze V)

I think you are missing the point here. It is correct as stated. Notice I specifically and repeatedly reffer the the system as a whole, even the extract quoted by you includes it. I think if you read the whole post again you will agree.

For every challenger there is a player challenged - can't be any other way in player versus player. So since there are as many challenges - chances to win ranking, as there are responses to challenge - chances to lose ranking, the number of oportunities on both sides is equal. This is statistical inevitability for the system as a whole. In individual cases, unfortunatelly, the random engine may bring and obviously does bring variety of results, but always within the perfect balance of the system. Again, see my original post - every bad-lucker is matched with a (randomly distributed) good-lucker(s).

And yes, buying more fuel gives you more chances to win points (individual advantage), resulting in somebody else getting more chances to lose points (randomly distributed disadvantage - if you will), as both sides always match in quantity. :)

And yes, game makers want you to buy more fuel, both for dollars and gold. They said it openly in one response that they wanted the players to be active in challenging, not just passively sitting and soaring up the ranks without any effort made. :)

So while there was several options how to go about winning and losing ranking points, the game makers chose this one, to encourage and favour activity against pasivity, but not at the expense of overall system ballance described in OP, as it would be statistical impossibility. :)

If anything, maybe keep lobbying for random engine rework, I would think, as this is the main culprit responsible for all perceived mess in this realm. I don't think anything will ever be done to rob gold users of ther "golden advantages". To comfort you be aware that their collective golden advantage will be randomly distributed around the whole pool (based on Leagues and Classes) and you might be missed out. You certainly will be missed out if you stay in Bronze League. :):):)

Just let me remark here in response to some comments: Would you expect the runner sitting down beside the track to win against the one running on the track through the whole race? Or would you call the one sitting disadvantaged against the one running when he lost the race? Or the "olympic" system unfair for not rewarding him equally for his sitting? :):):)

Well, if that is the end of the huge circle (island, seeds, ship, horse shoes, horses...), then I have to say: no thanks.
What use will it be for a non-gold player to achieve much here? Lower levels will be farmed by higher levels and even more people will leave due to demoralisation... Seriously BF ?! Not happy.

I like the game and will play on as long as my coop members stay with me, but I can't bother with the islands and ranch anymore.

    Just my personal opinion though.

Sadly I have to agree as well........all that work on the island/viking farm/greenhouse for league rankings and a few minor rewards? Pointless! Whats next.....a gambling farm? A casino? Its going a bit too far now in my opinion.

    Calendar week 12, so

    Hey Yaskoska,

there are roughly 50 days left to the season. It ends towards the end of calendar week 12. So there is still plenty time left.

As for some of the error descriptions you gave, we are already investigating most of them. If you would like to get more info on them, please make sure to check if there is already a bug report in the tech section and/or create one if there isn't any.

    Thanks! :)

    Cheers,

    Hi guys,

The latest update brings some changes to the horse ranch, which isn't available until level 16. Once you are level 16 you'll be introduced to the horse ranch, have any of you made it that far yet?

Thanks Nafaru! 50 days is indeed a significant rounding error to 1 month, but glad to know it. :)

Also wanted to add that my "small amount of fuel" has reset in timer, but not back to 0/3 as stated by several above.

hmm...come to think of it, no one has challenged me yet too and i am okay with it ^^!
But i have a question, if my horse is in training session and i can not challenge someone, does this mean the opponents cannot challenge me as well?
If so, i' ll make sure my horsie is always busy training herself :whistling:

Maybe a simple example to explain the advantage a player, who buys more fuel, has over a player who doesn't. Simple numbers will do.

Not taken the ranking to seriously,I like the update.
